I have ordered many times here, and the food is generally good, so that is not the issue. However, quality of service matters. The owner/server at the register is very moody, and can be quite abrupt and unpleasant. I expect at least a smile and a thank-you, especially since she should recognize me. She needs to understand the impact of her attitude on her customers. If you expect decent food, you'll be satisfied overall, but if you expect niceness and professionalism, you might be disappointed if she is in a bad mood, which is fairly often. read more

This Chinese restaurant is for takeout only, which in these days, completely works for me!! When you call with an order, they are always polite and friendly. They are always happy to customize your order as well. I'm the one in our house to call our orders in. So, I placed the order of the Bone in spareribs and asked that they cook them lightly (we don't like them well done). Also ordered a dozen of their Spring Rolls with Shrimp. This is the only Chinese place that we absolutely love their spring rolls. They have a thin, crispy shell around an overflowing inside bursting with shrimp!! OMG, they are the bomb!!! So yummy!! patronized Jin house since 2012 and today will be my last day here is why! I ordered my usual, fried wings, fried shrimp and chicken fried rice. EVERYTHING was undercooked when I called the restaurant to inform them of this the response I received was "hahaha undercooked yeah right and if any of my food was eaten there will be no refund" I arrived back to the restaurant and proceeded to show the woman my undercooked food. Shrimp breading still gooey, chicken looked fresh out the Pack no heat to it and the wings slimy. she still laughed at me and proceeded to yell saying this is all cooked, I cooked it myself when in fact she wasn't there at the time of my arrival or placement of the order. Instead of saying (because the customer is always right and well it's obviously undercooked) we apologize, we'll refund she proceeded to tell me not to come back anymore there is always something wrong with "you people" but this in 12 years has been my first ever complaint so I'm not sure who she was referring too unless she meant the color of my skin. I can only assume at this point. After an intense verbal exchange another customer proceeded to insert her opinion in the matter. Stating that I had my refund why the yelling? at that point I had no recorded of the refund, their machine ran out of clover paper. Not to mention I was called a liar over the phone, laughed at as if I didn't know undercooked food when presented to me. Now understand the background this food was for my 14 and 7 year old, I was leaving to pick up my student athlete and they needed an afternoon snack, had I just dropped the food off and not checked it my children would have been subject to undercooked food and the possibility of illness due to this establishments negligence. read more

Delivery was pretty quick, only about a half hour wait, but the food was mediocre. The coating for the chicken was one of the biggest problems for me, it just didn't hold up well. The sweet and sour chicken was okay since it at least had a crunch be but the general was very soggy and the sauce was odd, not like anywhere I've ever had and not in a good way. Shrimp toast bland, fried dark, and tasted greasy, not like shrimp. Old grease. Hot and sour soup was ordered medium spicy. No. Just bland. Spicy tuna roll arrived warm. No spice. Ate some, tossed the rest. Eggplant with tofu. Eggplant ok, sauce greasy and bland. The tofu were hard fried little nuggets. Old grease. Salmon teriyaki. Dry flat tasting. Not good quality salmon. For those who just crave the typical Chinese take-out, Jin House is a reliable source. Their quality has been consistent from my experience. They aren't exactly claiming to be an authentic Chinese restaurant, so I give them some pass. It's not healthy, obviously. It's not something you should eat on a daily or even weekly basis. The food is quickly prepared, ready in about 15 minutes, at least from my experience. A recommendation for those who have bad wait times: (1) don't have your order delivered, and (2) don't order online (i.e. use a phone). It's the suburbs. I inherently expect businesses in the suburbs to provide sub par services. Nothing like the city - improving operations/services is a competitive advantage in an area with multiple competing businesses. read more

Flat out the food was tasty. We got delivery which was fairly quick. It was a bit pricey which all chinese food is nowadays. Got Veg Lo Mein, sesame beef, my 2 young boys and I loved it, my wife got curry chicken which was a bit spicy for her, she thought it was OK, but she's also pregnant! I do have to say, (disclaimer-this could be totally coincidence or it could be the reason), to me it feels like it warrants enough to write this in my review. After the 3 times we ate this food in as many days (leftovers), each time I had pretty severe pains in my stomach area. Could be a coincidence, could be the MSG, but I had sharp gas type pains after eating this. Again, I felt it happened too many times to not put this in this review. Disgusting, I just ordered from here, first time, I got the chicken teriyaki and it was foul. Anytime I ever ordered teriyaki it was bbq/grilled chicken with white rice and teriyaki sauce, this crap had like soggy breaded chicken if you could call it that, and in a broth with a ton of mushrooms and snow peas. To make this experience even worse, first the delivery driver gave me the wrong order and when I came outside to flag him down in his car he rolled down the window and said call the restaurant. Five minutes later he was back and giving me this crap. So point is I just lost 16 bucks! That's how much it was, 16 bucks. I ordered from this place online, with an estimated wait time for delivery of 30-45 minutes. IT TOOK OVER 45 MINUTES FOR THEM TO CALL TO SAY I "LIVED TOO FAR AWAY." Now I have to deal with the money missing in my bank account (because I paid online by credit) and I don't have the money I had set aside for this meal for my family. Shame on this business. Jin Houses is a great place for Chinese food. I've been there a few times and the food is consistently good. The price was reasonable and they were quick to deliver. The family has ordered a variety of items and we are always satisfied. The portions are plentiful and even have enough for leftovers, which to me is even better the second day.
