Don't try to walk in, the door is locked and you either have to call the number for entry or make desperate eye contact with an employee to get inside. It is a very small and narrow store, typical for anyplace that carries antiques. I thought I had to make an appointment to browse, but I just called and walked in a few minutes after. Things that caught my eye were books, woven baskets, and the teapots. There is truly something for everyone here. There were two men in the store today and they helped me a lot. I now know where to go if I need my pearls restrung or a new bail for my jade pendants. If you get lost - it's in the alley next to Phoenix Bakery. I came out a happy camper with a very rare book on Chinese clothing and a beautiful heart 福 pendant with a chain! Thank you!

One of the most beautiful antique shop jewelry shop i've been to! they have a lot of selection to choose from older jewelry to modern jewelry. The owners were really helpful and showed us numerous arrays of rings, bracelets, pendants, etc. They also have gorgeous amount of jade jewelry! Incredibly helpful and really sweet! Love the item and will definitely come visit when back in the area!

wide selection of bangles, antiques, rings, earrings and much more! we thought the store was closed at first but they have to unlock the door for you. Owners were super friendly and helpful providing a personalized experience. they have many items to choose from! cozy and quiet little shop located in an alleyway

I inherited a piece of jade from my grandmother. It was made into a ring for me and it's the most precious thing I own. I took it to Jin Hing and showed it to Bob. I told him that I would love to make 3 identical jade rings for my sons. Over the course of several months, he searched for stones that were alike and looked like mine. Finally he contacted me and asked me to come to his shop. I was blown away! He did it! So on Christmas I presented each of my sons with these treasures. They were completely delighted and it created a wonderful family moment. I highly recommend Jin Hing for your custom jewelry needs

So thankful that we found this jewelry store that sells authentic jade jewelry. They close at 5 and we walked in at around 4:40, they let us in and entertained us. We overstayed choosing the right pieces and they were more than happy to assist us. I appreciate that they were honest in telling us which are pure and dyed jades. I originally wanted a jade bracelet that I saw on the display but it was too small to fit my hand. Bob looked for something for me that can be detached and I absolutely loved it. He also gave us a great deal for the 3 pieces we bought. We got a jade pendant, gold necklace, and jade bracelet with 18k gold in it. So beautiful and authentic.

I seriously want to give this place 5 stars because they have an extensive array of jewelry... Jade, gold, etc. But I won't. They validate if you park at the tall building next to Bamboo Lane. Very hard to find, by the way, so just look for Phoenix Bakery and the store is down the very small alley at the corner where you see the bakery. Yes, it looks like the kind of alley where you can get mugged. Don't worry. I don't think you will. The man inside sounded helpful. The woman was, too, but every time I asked if the jade I like is real she would answer with "Oh, I can't guarantee. It's so hard to tell these days because they color the jades to make it greener." I mean, come on. You're selling stuff you're not sure of? And yes, I still bought a small pendant. *hangs head* Anyway, I didn't know jade can be so expensive. I was quoted $40K for the best bangle. What the heck. Excuse me while I go sell one of my kidneys. Well, I think I'll just go buy the jade bangle I found on Macy's instead. Looks really good for (probably) less than half the price.

When you entered, it was always neat, organized, CLEAN, and inviting. This LA OGT is a big mess. I wanted to shower after we left. It's a hodgepodge of garbage mixed in with some good vintage stuff but it's really hard to look past the overall grime of the place. There were 3 ppl working and I'm pretty sure I could have lit myself on fire and none of them would have gotten up from their chairs and paused their conversation with each other. We walked by them multiple times without so much as a hello. In NY, there are actual sales people - you know, like a business that wants to be successful. Major disappointment.

This Hollywood hidden gem sits pretty much by itself across from the Amazon Prime Experience theater off Wilcox Avenue/Sunset Blvd between Sunset and Selma Avenue. Street parking (meter), local parking garages and lots or the metro (a short stroll from Hollywood/Vine) are your foeful friend. Great customer service and so many attentions to detail displayed throughout their entire store. I'm a big fan of Gold Bug in Pasadena, but they are not quite as "dark" in their aesthetic. Memento Mori, on the other hand, feels like a pretty good replacement. So, what are you going to find here? Well, as you may have guessed from my intro, taxidermy. The classic boars and deer heads preserved as wall ornaments...but also delicate butterflies beautifully arranged under glass domes. While no where near as extensive a collection of preserved animal parts as Necromance, there still is a decent collection, particularly for decor. Memento Mori also lacks the strong mothball smell that permeated the aforementioned store. There is a large collection of silver jewelry incorporating classic taxidermy elements, such as glass eyes. And lots of trinkets for those of a "gothic" aesthetic. They also carry a number of very comfortable tshirts bearing variations of their logo, one of which currently hangs in my closet. Memento Mori also appears to serve as a gothic community center: they always have flyers and posters advertising events such as Endless Night, a vampire-themed ball, or gothic-themed fairs for artisans. So, definitely worth a visit if your aesthetics or predilections lean to the darker side of life.
