SLIME SHRIMP CHOP SUEY MUSH !!
Denise B.

Food extremely slimy and old taste. Do not order anything? Close it Down Nothing will improve Close it Down!

Sigmund K.

I tried this place out of pure curiosity, despite the reviews, as it's been around for so long and I kept overlooking or forgetting about it even when I lived here. I went with my parents and daughter for lunch on a Thursday and it was pretty empty aside from one other family (my parents had never been here either). We were promptly seated with the server being somewhat polite but not necessarily warm or friendly and didn't smile at all the entire time we were there. Interior is nicely decorated and spacious and looked moderately clean. The menu is huge, which is to be expected for a restaurant with pan-Asian cuisine. I was initially going to get the lunch special Pad Thai, but the server said the portion is smaller than the regular Pad Thai so I opted for the regular size since I was pretty hungry. My dad ordered the Singapore Rice Noodles, my mom got the Pineapple Fried Rice, and we got a Tonkatsu and Rainbow Roll to share. I ordered an avocado smoothie and I got a kid's bento for my daughter that had fried rice, broccoli, two pot stickers, and two fried shrimp. The kid's bento is nice since they provide different food item options to customize it. We didn't wait too long for our food, but that's where the experience goes downhill. The Pad Thai was hands-down the most bland Pad Thai that I've ever had, which is strange because it looks like it had enough sauce on it. The chicken itself was okay but it was still so, so bland. I used the lime and that's literally all I tasted afterwards, but I still finished it because I was that hungry and don't like wasting food. My parents didn't fare much better with their dishes. The pineapple in the Pineapple Fried Rice had a really weird taste to it, like it had gone bad. Additionally, both that and the Singapore Rice Noodles were incredibly salty and they could only take a few bites of each before they had to stop, so I felt really bad. The fish on the Rainbow Roll didn't look or taste fresh at all either. My daughter enjoyed her bento so at least there's that, but the fried shrimp was probably 95% breading and 5% shrimp (not even exaggerating). The only decent things we had were the avocado smoothie and the tonkatsu, although the tonkatsu was made super thin. I still feel bad that I dragged my parents along, so now I know to go alone the next time I want to try something out of curiosity. Usually when I have a disappointing dining experience I can say "I'm glad that I tried it, at least," but I'm sorry to say that that statement doesn't apply here.

Thai Fried Rice Lunch, Chicken Broccoli Lunch Special

I feel like this food kinda is what you pay for. It's very mid, but I guess that's expected at this price point. They do have solid fried rice and the service is quick, so I'd still recommend it as a good place to stop for lunch in downtown Naperville. Overall the food is very average though.

Adding on as my daughter wanted to come back just three days later! We had the Pad See Eiu again but added a Mexican sushi roll which was honestly below average. Will have to try other sushi next time.

Pad Thai Lunch

I got the lunch special. The soup was egg drop soup I believe and it way okay. Nothing amazing, maybe slightly under seasoned. I got the Pad Thai with crab rangoons as my entree. The Crab Rangoons were basically just cream cheese, not much crab in it. The Pad Thai is what stood out to me. I took a couple of bites and couldn't finish it. It was really sweet. It tasted like the noodles were mixed with a bunch of sweet and sour sauce. Over all it was a lot of food for the price (under 15) but the food was just not to my taste.

Ordered some delivery from Jin 28 and had a mixed experience. The food took quite a bit of time to deliver (over an hour) despite the restaurant being less than a mile away, well after normal dinner hours (late evening), and the size of the order being small. Portion sizes were alright for the price, though most other restaurants do fill it completely full and this was only partially full except for the fried rice. The flavor was in line with expections. Orange chicken was sweet and a little spicy, with deep fried batter (no longer crispy by the time it arrived). Honey walnut shrimp had sweet and crunchy almonds with a fairly sweet mayo and lightly cooked broccoli. The pineapple chicken fried rice was a little underwhelming, with a good amount of onion and vegetables, but wasn't as aromatic as i would have expected. Overall, the food was alright and the prices reasonable. But not a top choice next time I need some Chinese delivery.

Crab Rangoon

Walked in and there was only one couple dining inside, which I should've taken as a sign that this place wasn't good. There was no one to greet us so we just sat ourselves at any table. We ordered crab rangoon, and for the sushi rolls we had the mushroom roll, salmon roll, sakura roll, spicy crabmeat roll, and spider roll. The crab rangoon was alright, not the best I've had but also not the worst. The salmon, mushroom, and spicy crabmeat were good but the other rolls were just okay. There's a lot better restaurants nearby I would not come back to this restaurant.

Pad Thai

Ordered from them twice to-go and it was so GOOD! I was sick craving soup and pad thai and I was not disappointed. Their portions were great and I recommend trying the hot and sour soup. The restaurant itself is small and kinda hidden but it also cute inside.

Chicken Chop Suey
Ken J.

Our group had sushi, chicken chop suey, General Tsao's chicken, and sesame chicken with broccoli. Also mai tais. The food came out quickly, nice and hot. Mai tais were good, had fun straws. It was not very crowded on a Sat nite, we got there at 5. Everyone liked what they ordered, they also have Thai selections to go along with the Chinese, and sushi. I found the chop sticks a bit " slippery", had to switch to a fork.

She seated us, gave us water and came back 15 minutes later. No visible staff in the dining room. She took our appetizer order and dinner order. The spring rolls were like leather. Terrible. There was no staff in the crowded dining room for 15 minutes at a time. There was one woman doing all of the service and one young woman who would come to take empty plates. She never returned to the table to offer a second drink or fill our water glasses. So we only got one drink through the whole hour and a half we were there. And we had empty water glasses the whole time. They did not bring the soup we ordered stating it was not on the order. Dinner took forever. No servers in sight. When we finally got our meal, it was tasty. One person cannot run an entire dining room. And be missing the most of the time. I suggest carry out for this place. Service was terrible.

We were very excited to try the food, but it turned out to be average at best. We ordered the Tom Kha soup and two lunch specials: Pad Thai with pot stickers, and basil chicken with a vegetable egg roll. The soup was decent, though it was a bit overpowered by the fish sauce. The spring rolls and pot stickers were great, however, and the service was quick.

Very casual spot where you seat yourself in the restaurant of about 9-10 tables. We were waiting on quickly and the food looked great once but came out . I ordered the mango chicken as I've never seen on menu before and was not disappointed. Crispy and saucy which is exactly how I like it . Sauce flavor was a delight and it came with white rice which i upgraded to fried rice . Hubby got crab pad Thai and he really enjoyed it. He was pleased that it was real crab as well. He did ask for chili as he likes to add spice to everything. The appetizer crab Rangoon was on point as well and then we finished with mango sticky rice . My favorite dessert when available which was a tasty ending to a great meal. I'd definitely go back to try more dishes .

Chopsticks Noodle & Thai Cafe is in an unassuming location in a strip mall. Here the major difference is it's not some order at the counter type of place. There's a pretty big menu of meaty and vegetarian friendly choices with varying levels of spiciness. A not quite fancy restaurant but better than the others around here with this type of cuisine. It's got enough room for plenty of booths and tables. The menu features a lot of the typical favorites like noodles, rice, and whatever. A lot of the entrees have a choice of protein. They of course have beef and chicken, but also tofu. It's about $12 for an entree. We got some of the choices for vegetarians. I got the Cashew Stir-Fried. This had carrots, onions, peas, peppers, and pineapple, and the choice of protein was tofu. Good spiciness without being burning ass hot. The rest of the menu has a pretty good variety of things. Certainly could get lunch from here again. It's located on Route 59 at Ogden. There's plenty of choices for both meat eaters and vegetarians.

I'd rate it on par, or even better, than San Francisco's Burmese options. Service was much friendlier here, that's for sure! Tawk was a delightful host...making jokes along with dish recommendations. Sadly, we gobbled up the food before I remembered to take photos. D'oh! I highly recommend the Tea Leaf salad--a Burmese staple and a real treat if you haven't had it before. Very flavorful and just a hint of spice (don't eat the sliced peppers if you're spice-adverse, but we devoured them). We also had Shan Noodles (B8). I also recommend that. A mild to medium spice level and very tasty. Generous portions. Two dishes was enough for two though I wish we had tried the spring rolls or samosas too--we might have had leftovers if we had! The restaurant itself is inviting and clean. They did a good job considering the location in a strip mall. The lighting looks nice, and the textured walls add to the inviting ambience.
