I called to get my truck out of mud slipped 4 ft of the road on my horse farm itemn4. The driver didn't have to wrench it that far but he did don't know. I use to have Tow business for 30 years sold it over 10 yrs ago. So was charged $450 plus $17.50 fee for credit card. He put spare on tire was real low. Had no airtime you changing flats u better have air tank lot of spares get low. We'll driver said couldn't do anything I asked to gmtake me to Napa 3.2 miles away said no got another call put when he got there said was a slow day. I offered to pay him said no . So $467.95 still. My custom car damaged right side mirror ripped off passenger window destroyed . I brought it to Jim's who immediately gave me a fair estimate and date to start work. Didn't have to wait long. I was upset about the damage and not sure how it would turn out. Next Friday got a call to pick it up. Amazing work by the shop people. We needed our truck to be towed. USAA's Roadside Assist and AAA's towing did not provide a vendor/truck within forty minutes. It could be that they are great in different areas. But in southwestern Massachusetts, they were for all intents and purposes, non-existent. Called Jim's. The phone was answered on the second ring. After agreeing to the cost for towing and providing my location, a drive-up/on-bed tow truck arrived within thirty minutes. The price for such a premium service was fair and the driver was an absolute gentleman. I would call this company in a heartbeat. In fact, I will go to them for some auto body work that I need to have done. In terms of growing and maintaining a business, professionalism is the best advertising. Our rental car broke down. We were stranded in a town we had never been to and Bub from Jim's Auto Body showed up quickly and took care of our un-drivable car. Jim towed me when triple A left me hanging... Snow was coming triple A wasn't.. As a last resort (as I was out of state and unfamiliar with the area) I looked up where to get a tow truck. Crossed my fingers and rang Jim's number at 8:00pm on a random Monday night, second ring the phone was answered and I was treated as if we went to school together! Not only did Jim get me off the side of the road, he also got me back on the road!! And kept me very informed through the entire predicament I was in. My truck that broke down was new to me, and I couldn't get the used car dealer on the phone to discuss making it right. Jim was concerned/ and genuinely went above and beyond to help me document and inform me with great advice, all this on top of providing and excellent repair to get me back on the road. This shop and especially Jim is TOP NOTCH. He didn't know me or had never met me until it came time to pick up and pay my bill, I felt like he treated me the same way he would have treated a customer he's had for years. read more

Few weeks ago, had an accident in upstate NY and had truck towed to Jim's. Gave him all my information and was told that he would take care of everything. I would have given Jim's Auto Body 5 stars for excellent service. I went there for a flat tire and Jim was very helpful and did a great job. When I brought my vehicle to Jim's I asked what had to be done for my flat tire, and how much it was going to cost. He told me just to watch him and the tire would be fixed in no time (which was true). He never mentioned how much it would cost. When I went to pay, he said it would cost $50 to repair a flat tire. I live in Manhattan, and to fix a flat tire here, I have subsequently found out, would cost $25. So he charged me double that, letting me know only the fee only after the work had been done. I can't say enough good things about my hour long experience at Jim's. I was driving from Albany to Connecticut when my car started making a funny noise. A couple of weeks earlier my Ford dealer had told me that my brakes were running very low and that they'd need to be replaced soon, so I assumed the worst. I gave Jim a call and he was able to see me immediately. He could have easily gotten a brake job out of me, but instead he actually looked for the problem. He told me that my brakes were fine (~40% left) and that the problem was with the transmission (I knew the transmission was shot...it's a design flaw on Fiestas). He only charged me $30 for the better-part-of-an-hour that they spent diagnosing the problem. They easily could have taken advantage of me (and I have a terrible poker face so it's obvious when I'm out of my depths), but instead they gave me good feedback on the state of my car and peace of mind for the rest of my trip, for a better-than-fair price. read more

I am compelled to write my very first Yelp review about Paul - the owner of this business. I cannot comment on his workmanship, which may be lovely, but I certainly can comment on his rude and surly manner. Recently, my son got a flat tire near Paul's establishment. A State trooper stopped to assist but they were unable to get the tire off. The trooper helpfully called the nearby Paul's Auto Body and asked for assistance. Paul sent someone who was able to remove the lug nuts and said to stop by the shop - there would be a minimal fee. When my son arrived at the shop, he was told that he owed $100. and that they only accepted cash. After searching for an ATM, my son became suspicious and called for my advice. I called the business and spoke directly to Paul. I asked if they were AAA approved as we had AAA. They were not. I asked if the 'small fee' was the $100. He said it was a deal and should have been $150. He continued to get more and more aggressive, telling me that he had to wait and chase my son around for $100. I told him that it had only been one hour, my son had the money but that I wanted him to issue him a receipt upon receiving the money. Paul then got even angrier and said if 'the kid didn't get there now he would call the police.' The entire conversation was very upsetting and unnecessary. Everyone is entitled to a bad day but this man went way beyond that by yelling into the phone, threatening to call the police, and insulting my son. Just to be clear, my son is a well-respected faculty member at an area private boarding school - certainly not someone deserving of this criticism. read more
