Speidell Supercars & Auto Repair

On my first visit to Speidell Supercars & Auto Repair, I immediately noticed the positive…read moreatmosphere--everyone working there seemed genuinely happy to be part of the team. The shop and office were so well organized and spotless that, surprisingly, I wasn't even worried about getting grease on my clothes. James, with 20 years of Ford factory-trained experience, clearly runs a shop built on pride and professionalism. While I was there, he was mentoring a younger mechanic with patience and attention to detail, and I learned he also employs local high school students in the summer. As a father, I really value how he's giving them not just a job, but exposure to responsibility and auto care skills. Even though I only came in for an oil change, James didn't try to upsell me. Instead, he mentioned I could ship tires directly from Tire Rack (he's a Tire Rack Recommended Installer) and that he uses both Napa and OEM parts, which I trust for quality. From what I've seen, the quality of his work and the fairness of his pricing are perfectly aligned. I'll definitely be back.

These grifters charged $52 to install my wife's mounted and balanced tires from the Tire Rack, even…read morethough the contract specified $30. Upon showing them the price they refused to budge. Luckily the Tire Rack paid us the difference. I will never use these thieves again, hopefully the state shuts them down for their fraudulent business practices and failing to honor written contracts. I will file a complaint with the appropriate state agency when I have the time. The order number was KC67797 and the delivery date was 12/19/2022. The vehicle in question was a 2018 Mazda 6 GT sedan, 2.5 Liter 4 Cyl N/A 6 Speed Manual. My wife wishes to add the following: "Even though we had scheduled the install a week out, the owner was indifferent to my concerns, refused to honor the price, and made me wait 2.5 hours for a 20 minute job. When my husband finally posted a review [on google], the irate owner, who clearly has untreated mental health issues, called me to leave an angry voicemail." -Emily M.

Clove Branch Muffler & Brake

First off: If you ever need honest service of your car, bring it to Mike at Clove Branch…read more Clove Branch is one of the most helpful auto repair shops I've ever been to. I was driving down the Taconic yesterday on the way back to CT when the road got the better of my car; Suspension shut down and my former all-terrain vehicle was now a low-rider. Not being familiar with the area, my gf and I went to Yelp to find mechanics in the area and after speaking with a few different places, Mike answered the phone. Mike was great, he told me to bring the car over (luckily we had pulled over only .6 miles away) and they'd take a look at it. After 20 min, Mike came back and told us the car had a hole in the front right strut and couldn't be quick-fixed so our road trip was done. While they could have ordered the part, we decided to have a flat bad come pick it up and bring it back to our local car dealer in CT. Mike and the guys at Clove Branch were unbelievably accommodating, offering to hold on to the keys for us to give to the flat bed driver the next day. After all of this, Mike didn't charge us anything as no work was done. So I write this now so that the next person reading this while sitting in their broken down car on the side of the Taconic knows: Call Clove Branch!!

I had a good first visit. When I called for an appointment, the rep was kind, quick and helpful. My…read morecar was taken in quickly after arrival and my oil change was complete within an hour. I was comfortable enough in the waiting room and had access to WiFi so I could do some work. I used a coupon and my total was around $85. I was a bit surprised because I usually pay around $70 at other places, but they did use Euro grade because I have a cooper. My only other thing was that the technician who moved my car was smoking as he got into my car. He wasn't smoking in my car but the smoke got in there and I could smell it for the rest of the day. Otherwise, I was very satisfied and will be happy to come back. It's obvious that people coming in love coming here and respect the work done.
