Today I was craving some Jimmy John's....my favorite place for sub sandwiches! It was a great experience...clean and Covid-practices in place! Steven and the rest of the staff were all helpful and nice! My sandwich was the best part! So fresh and delicious! Craving satisfied

So I'm sitting here enjoying my delicious #14 with cheese, and I pull up this location's Yelp page. 2.5 stars? Really? Did someone get freaking SPIT ON by an employee or find a live insect in their sammich? I mean, what the deuce is going on here? So I started reading reviews, and wow... Really Yelpers? To the chic who was upset because the menu says "gourmet sandwiches," I think you need a lesson in satire. You obviously didn't see all the signs hanging up around the building that read, "Customer is usually right" or "free smells" etc. Everyone knows there ain't nothing "gourmet" about JJ's subs, just like everyone knows McDonald's doesn't sell real hamburgers. The menu is facetious. Unbelievable. I guess I've eaten at this particular location 5 or 6 times since it opened up 3 or so years ago, which is a lot considering I live no where close to it, and all I can say is that my bread has always been fresh, I've never had a salad's worth of lettuce on my sandwich, the service has always been friendly and "freaky fast." 15 minutes from order time to digestion time. Additionally, the tables are always wiped down and ready for the next customer, so they've got cleanliness on lock down too. Jimmy John's, I'm sorry some people just don't understand sarcasm or the concept behind your beautifully fast and simple service, but I do, so here's a freaking 5 star. Keep pumping out them "gourmet" sandwiches!

After a stop at Chase, and then a shopping excursion at Lowes, it was time to grab a quick lunch before heading back towards the office, and so I stopped at Jimmy John's freaky fast gourmet sandwiches. Jimmy John's (JJ's) sits along N. Dale Mabry in Carrollwood, right in front of Lowe's, and just south of Fletcher. JJ's is in a little strip mall with Chipolte and Yogurt Mountain. Inside the front door is a monstrous wall-mounted menu with a wide variety of cold subs and sandwiches. The sandwiches are labeled as "Plain Slims" meaning meat & cheese only, "Subs" which add on the fresh veggies, or the giant club sandwiches which have double the meat & cheese plus veggies. Once you decide on which sandwich will make your tummy happy you order it by number, add on chips, cookies, and a drink, and pay your bill. By the time you walk back to the soda machine and fill your cup, your sandwich is just about finished -- freaky fast! Unlike other sandwich shops you don't press your nose to the glass and tell the sandwich maker which veggies you want added in which quantity. The JJ sandwiches are all prepared exactly as described on the menu. Also, the sub sandwiches are all the same size -- the only choice is putting the meal on an 8" French bread sub roll, 7-grain sandwich bread, or lettuce wraps. If you're not happy with that option, then you might be happier eating elsewhere rather than arguing with the people behind the counter. Also, they don't serve hot subs, or toast the sandwich, or offer soup or salad. Nope, just sandwiches, chips, cookies, and soda. I ordered the Italian Night Club (#9) on a French bread sub roll. That was Genoa salami, Italian capicola ham, smoked ham and provolone cheese, topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, Italian vinaigrette, and some hot peppers. Add in a Diet Coke, and I was a happy camper!

I absolutely love the ambiance, incredible selection, and variety of fresh, prepared, and packaged foods they offer. It's always busy -- and honestly, I've never seen an "off" time -- but that's part of the experience. I could easily spend hours wandering from room to room. One area has fresh vegetables and prepackaged dinners, another features spices tucked into a small alcove, while another is filled with wine and cheese. Then there's the main room, which houses a coffee bar, bakery and dessert counters, grocery items, a meat counter, and the deli where you can order made-to-order sandwiches and other freshly prepared foods. Everywhere you turn, there's something new and amazing to discover. This visit, I ordered the Hot Italian sub, and it was outstanding -- huge, flavorful, and packed with delicious ingredients. Every bite was fantastic. And yes, I happily ate the entire thing fresh while sitting outside on the covered patio. If you still have time before they close -- their hours are somewhat limited and closed on Sundays -- be sure to check out the kitchen store and gelato shop next door as well. They're the perfect addition to the experience and make it even harder to leave without discovering something else amazing.

After a bit, we realized everyone had ordered already and we stepped up to the cash register. I ordered the PROSCIUTTO DI PAPO and my boyfriend ordered the THEE PARMESAN DON. We stood awkwardly in the way of the trash can for a while as there was zero space in the place to go to truly be out of the way of people. After about 20 minutes of standing there, a table cleared up and we very quickly rushed over to grab a seat. The cashier came out and cleaned another table but did not bother to clean ours. It seemed as though she was only willing to clean empty table. After about 40 minutes, our food was ready. It was insane to see how many orders were on their screen as the whole kitchen is visible from inside the place. The sandwiches were good, but I would absolutely recommend ordering ahead so that you don't get stuck standing there forever waiting. I also don't necessarily think the sandwiches were as good as expected. Especially for how long we had to wait.

Not sure if those hours are still correct. My lunch was fantastic and I started out with a bowl of matzoh ball soup for eight dollars and then I highly recommend this huge deli sub called the Cranston Kevin. Huge sandwich for $20 and worth it and the potato salad is pretty good as well. I added a picture of the sandwich which is almost like a French dip, but it's got turkey on it as well. Our server was Lauren and she even said it's her favorite sandwich on the menu. On the other side of the restaurant, they have a huge bakery as well, but didn't grab anything but did some window shopping of all the great stuff they had in the bakery.
