Today was an excuse to check in on my old haunt and see how things were going. Ordering was fast, and the food came out quickly to our table. I ordered the garlic soy sandwich, and my friend got the tacos. Honestly the chicken quality is great here-- crunchy, moist, not too saucy, and not overpoweringly flavorful as some other places are. I cleaned that plate and ended very satisfied. There are quite a few tables around for small and large groups. Things were pretty quite here during lunch time, so it's not too busy of a place that you won't be stuck waiting or crammed in. It's definitely busier at dinner time though!

Ordering is usually pretty fast with the kiosks and it gets prepared pretty fast. They have a text service that can tell you when it's ready so you don't have to wait downstairs for it. My only knock is that when you order via the app or online, they have a window set up where theoretically you'd go to be served. But in my experience, the people working here rarely come to that window, and you have to go inside anyways to ask about your order. As much as I'd hate to admit it, Shake Shack has my heart and my stomach- will be back.

Since I was last here, they added in self-ordering kiosks, which would theoretically improve ordering speed, except that they did so at the cost of not taking orders at the counter. Understandably, this was to help out the large flood of Doordash pickups coming through, but it was slower as most people take a lot longer to choose when self-ordering. Food came out fast, and was delicious! I ordered the Sandwich Combo, and it came out hot and fresh. Fries here are literally addictive-- I don't know why but I just keep eating and then eat my friends' fries too. Overall this location is well-decorate and kept clean. However, it's a lot more chaotic here with all the Doordash pickups coming through. I'd have retreated to the side of the restaurant to have a little reprieve from all the folks coming in and out. I had a hankering for chicken and waffles today and I could've gone to a number of restaurants in…read morethe area for this, but today I decided to try my one go-to place for the best chicken sandwiches in town: Hangry Joe's. I've seen the chicken and waffles on their menu many times and was always hesitant on ordering it only because I didn't want to feel disappointment and possible regret for not ordering one of their well-known, delicious options of chicken sandwich (the Sando) or chicken fingers. I don't know why I was so afraid to order it other than thinking the waffle wouldn't be that good, but I was so very wrong. Their chicken and waffles are great! Let's start with the chicken... fried to perfection and slightly lathered in your choice of mild to spicy sauce, these chicken tenders are simply amazing... and huge. Bite into a chicken tender and juices shoot out of it. That's how juicy they are. The waffle (divided into quarters) was so good. Lightly crisped and dusted with powdered sugar on the outside and a beautiful soft texture inside, this is a great waffle. You get syrup for the waffle and your choice of sauce for the chicken. All for $12.95. So good! Other options include a Korean chicken nugget combo that includes steamed white rice and fries, chicken wraps, and wings. Service is pretty quick. I ordered to go ("ASAP - 10 mins") and the order was ready in 14, but please don't fault them for this. Once you taste the chicken, you will forgive them for any tardiness.

The colorful, cartoonish decor of the restaurant's interior put me off a little at first. The brightly colored, chicken-themed cartoons on the walls seemed to me like it was geared for kids. It is most certainly not. Hangry Joe's is made for chicken lovers. The choices on the menu were all tempting. Every dish on the menu features chicken as a comfort food, and I am all about it. I ordered the Chicken Sando, which was both huge and delicious. My pal got the chicken wings, which he said were the best he ever ate. (He specifically raved about the dipping sauce.) Now I want wings! There are five levels of heat for your chicken, from mild to smokin hot, and so everybody, even those afraid of heat, will find something to their liking on the menu. The service was good, and though the prices are a bit on the high side for fast food (we paid about $30 for two meals.), the amazing chicken and accompanying flavors make a trip here well worth it. In fact, in the two days since I tried Hangry's, three friends from NY who had tried it during their stay here over the weekend made an stop there before heading home to bring home some more of that chicken. Now that's good chicken!

I had to ask him multiple times to repeat himself and speak up. When my food was ready, another employee called out "cheeseburger, no fries" instead of calling my order number. I had to ask him what order number he was referring to. Customers should not have to guess whether an order belongs to them based on the contents of the bag. The most frustrating part was my milkshake. My food had already been prepared, but my milkshake had not been made. Another employee eventually had to tell the employee responsible for the milkshake that he needed to make it. I also had to remind the staff myself that I was still waiting for my milkshake. I was then told that I "had to wait," despite the employees appearing to be standing around and there being no other customers waiting for orders. There appeared to be approximately five employees working at the time, yet I was the only customer in the restaurant and completing a simple order was still unnecessarily slow and disorganized. The employees seemed confused about what needed to be done and were not communicating effectively with either me or one another. Overall, the service was extremely unorganized and unprofessional. I understand that restaurants can become busy and delays happen, but that was clearly not the situation here. With approximately five employees and only one customer, I do not understand why my order required multiple reminders and why the staff appeared so unprepared to complete it. PS. They also forgot pickles on the side.

They kept calling our number and only handing us a milkshake, 1 at a time, which felt like it dragged on. The fries were dumped into the bag so it was difficult to distribute the cups to each individual. The foil wrapping always irritates my skin and makes the burger a bit soggy if you don't get to it right a way too.
