I don't know ow what makes their sandwiches taste good. It was just a simple tuna sandwich. It wasn't even the fancy one. I dressed it up and little, sure. But it was just a tuna. The bread was simply bread as far as I know. No fancy names in French or Italian. Nothing baked in and crusted in cheese or tomato or special herbs. I don't even know if a fancier bread is an option. But it was a dang good sandwich. The ingredients taste fresh. I even thought to myself how nice the iceberg lettuce tasted. It was crisp with a sweetness to it. The tuna was nice and the provolone I added was cool. Nothing stood out as the star of the show. It all just came together to be a fantastic sandwich. Plus I ordered a giant size and essentially got 2 sandwiches. The employees were awesome and helpful in guiding me towards the ultimate JJ experience. They don't abide by the health department regulations -- they make food with their bare hands and do it immediately after handling their personal cell phones. If you use your phone, you are required to wash and sanitize your hands after each use of your phone and before handling any food. They do not do this at this location. I hadn't been to this location before and stopped in on December 30, 2025. It was about 7:20 pm and every place else nearby was pretty busy, if not packed. In this Jimmy John's, only three workers behind the counter were in the building. They were all entranced in each of their cell phones... I was sitting in the parking lot about to make a bad decision. As I open my door, a guy walks up the side walk, toward the Jimmy John's entrance. I follow him in. We both stand there for EIGHT MINUTES before any of the employees even look up from their phones. Finally, they take his order. A girl puts down her cell phone right on the counter where they make sandwiches and starts making his sandwiches, with her bare hands, no gloves -- which are required. During the process of making his sandwiches, she puts the sandwiches down several times to respond to texts on her cell phone. I just couldn't believe it. I had just ordered my sandwich and was about to swipe my credit card. I was just about in shock from the blatant disregard for food safety and obeying the law, etc... I told the cashier to forget it and then I said, all of you need to review the safe food handling requirements. She just had a blank look on her face as if she was clueless. I said, you have to wash your hands after using your phone, using the restroom, and each time you leave & return to the prep area. She said, "we do not". Ate the Kickin' Chicken wrap about a week and a half ago. Got very sick with major stomach issues within a couple hours of eating it. I continued to be sick for the next 2 days. It took about 4 days total to be able to eat solid food. It had been a while since I had eaten at Jimmy John's and it will be a long while if I ever eat there again. read more

Slower than slow. The food is fair. The order was given twice and the bag was given to me with 2 sandwiches. I had to ask for the cookie and drink. I know better than to come home without my hubby cookieThere was only one customer in front of me in the drive thru. I did not see any customers parked out front or inside dining. I give it 3 just for hubby because he likes it. He orders Italian nightclub #9. The tuna is fair but I don't care for any of the bread they have and the lettuce wrap is usually soggy and wet and not crisp. It's all about choices. Great advertisement by Jimmy Johns to have Lil Jon promoting the Lil John sandwich which is my new fav item at the restaurant. I drive all the way to Owensboro for this $3 sandwich. The smaller size sandwich is good until the last bite. Just enough food for me. Sometimes they are heavy on the onion but nothing excessive. I chose the #5 Pepe no provolone as the style, add a fountain or grab a Starbucks tea from next door and it takes my lunch hour to another level. read more

Friendly staff, freaky fast food. Surprised the ratings are so low, it was a pleasant experience for us!

It seems a lot of people don't understand JJ's concept of freaky fast delivery. They keep their delivery area's small so they can be freaky fast. So if you live more then 5 minutes away (and i don't mean 5 mile radius) then more then likely they don't deliver to you. Yes i know it's a strange concept but it has worked for them since their conception in Champaign IL. So until the franchise grows enough where they can open more stores we will be stuck with the one in the middle of owensboro, I still like their sub's way better then subway any day of the week. I was asked to swipe my debit card a second time, saying the first charge didn't go through. I voice concern that I didn't want to be charged twice, but was told I would not be. A few days later, I noticed two $45 charges had posted to my account the same night. Was told the supervisor working couldn't help, but the GM would call me and there would be a remedying of the problem. I have waited 5 days for that phone call. I'll give them 4 stars because their sandwiches are delicious and consistent in quality, like your typical Jimmy John's. I've never gotten delivery because we live .3 miles out of their delivery area. Silly, but I guess a 1 mile delivery radius is a 1 mile delivery radius... Their drive-thru is typically pretty speedy though. A good and healthier option for a quick lunch! read more

Beware. If you want a lot of extra charges go here. They tried to change me .$.55 for a small cup to put water in. The sub was poor quality . Bread was like old and hard . Go to Subway if you want a good sub. They did not give me any napkins. I asked for them. They acted like they were gold. I ordered a coke also , they sold it to me but was out of coke in the machine. I ordered via the app at 10am for a delivery for 12pm at my daughters work. I received a confirmation e-mail. A little after 12 I call to check on the order & they said they were waiting for the driver to come & get it. At 1:10pm, they told me the driver was out for delivery with it. At 1:25 I called & asked them to cancel my order and refund my card. The manager (Neala or Addy) said it would take 2 days to get money back. They told me it was delivered to the place of work at the front desk . I had put notes in there that said go around back to the glass doors & call my daughter's phone number because its a big building. The driver didn't follow the directions, when I asked they manager why they didn't follow the directions she hung-up. I have video of me calling & they hang up when I ask the managers real name. She gave me 2 different names. The manager was unprofessional and my daughter didn't get lunch today. read more

The assistant managers consistently go above and beyond to make sure things are done right, and the employees always work as a true team. The can't seem to open on time, and attitudes of their openers really suck especially Kaitlyn!! I think it's ridiculous they charge $.55 for a cup of water in the water taste nasty they might need to clean their soda machine. Employees just sitting around doing nothing. Really wish they would open up another Jimmy John's location other than this one here on Frederica They need to really close this one down because management and employees suck. Great sandwiches, I have tried all but the veggie and the tuna. I have never been in the mood for a "salad sandwich" and I don't eat tuna I haven't made myself. Service is great, delivery is freaky fast, just like they say it is, UNLESS they are busy. Still even then it's not what you'd call slow. I am addicted to the BBQ chips! Loads better than Subway. I think Jimmy John's does a great job on cold sandwiches. I am particularly fond of the #10 the Hunters Club, on wheat with sprouts instead of lettuce. The roast beef they use for that sandwich is vastly better than their competitors. They have extremely fa s t and very affordable delivery. Only trouble is a very limited delivery area. I have eaten every sandwich on the menu except the veggie and the tuna. If I going to eat veggies I will eat a salad. I only eat tuna salad I make myself. So I tecommend them. read more

I have never tried Jimmy John's but tonight, as I am staying in a hotel & my boyfriend is out with our only vehicle at something he cannot get away from, I am stuck here with our two kids who of course, are up way past their bedtimes & cranky. So I am trying to decide upon something to get delivered to us since we all seem to develop a case of the munchies when we are up late. I remembered that Jimmy John's delivers, & I am not in the mood for pizza, so it sounded like a good option. I get on there website, see that they are open until 1 a.m. & that I have plenty of time to place an order so I start looking at their menu options. Once I spend a decent amount of time deciding upon some things for us I go to place my order...only to discover that I am not within their delivery range. I am literally a 3-4 minute drive down the street from this resturant. I actually looked up the distance online before starting this review because I thought it was just that ridiculous. 2.2 miles!! Crazy! Why even have delivery if you will only deliver within practically walking distance! After getting on here & reading reviews of this business from other Yelpers, I'm not too upset that I still have not gotten to try Jimmy John's. Maybe some other day, when I can go into the store. But, for now, looks like I will just have to see if this hotel has a snack machine to get these cranky kids o' mine to calm down & go to bed!
