Hagberg's Country Market - Melissa's Ham & Cheese - lots of ham, but not as good as the Turkey Club.

My husband will work in Stillwater every now and then and stop here to grab some steak or brats but…read morewe've been here a few times together now and I can safely say it is in my top three meat markets! Everyone is always so friendly, the cuts are always so fresh, and you can't really go wrong! We love getting their picanha and Billy brats if we want to grill out but truly you can't go wrong with any of their meats. It's nice because there's also a small cafe inside so if you're super hungry, you can grab a sandwich and some fixings to hold you over if it's a trek to get back home like it is for us. We'll be going on hiking trip in a few days and actually stopped in to get a pound of their beef jerky which we'll vacuum seal and take with us to snack on. Super great Smokey flavor, perfect snack to nibble on, and keeps super well!

They always have very unique items such as unique chips, candy and drinks! This trip I got clearly Canadian...where would you be able to find that drink? No where else. They also have gluten free bread which makes me a happy gal. Today I got a Rueben on gfree bread...delish! Don't walk but run to this local favorite in town!

As I went toward the checkouts, I saw the spices and herbs section. I was thrilled to find celery flakes available, and for a reasonable cost! That ingredient is weirdly hard to find around the region. I went to the self check-outs. One of my cheeses had a smeared barcode that wouldn't scan. I hit the "help" button on the screen, and a checker immediately came over to manually input that item. While I was in the grocery side, my husband checked out the liquor store. He bought a number of beers to take home, including some that were new to him. We were both quite pleased with our shopping experience here and would stop in again on another trip to Hudson.

I would have happily written a five-star review about Festival Foods' rotisserie chickens not long…read moreago. They were excellent -- consistently flavorful, well-prepared, and conveniently packaged in the standard rigid container with a raised base and clear lid. It kept the chicken elevated out of the grease, preserved the texture of the skin, and allowed customers to see what they were buying. That thoughtful packaging has now been replaced with a plastic bag. The result is exactly what you'd expect when you seal a hot, freshly roasted chicken in a bag with nowhere for heat or grease to go. The bird sits in its own rendered fat. The once-crisp skin turns slick and rubbery. Opening the bag means handling a dripping, slippery mess that coats your hands and countertop before dinner even begins. It's a downgrade in every practical sense -- presentation, cleanliness, and quality. After speaking with staff, it's clear this was not a store-level improvement. Employees dislike the change. Customers dislike the change. Which leaves one conclusion: someone, somewhere, decided that shaving a few cents off packaging mattered more than the customer experience. If that's the strategy, it's short-sighted. I no longer buy rotisserie chickens at Festival Foods. What used to be a reliable, convenient dinner option is now something I drive past without a second thought. That's disappointing, especially because Festival's arrival in Hudson genuinely raised the bar for grocery shopping in this community. It's remarkable how quickly goodwill can erode over something as simple -- and avoidable -- as a bag.
