He is the best endodontist of all time, in all the world! I've been begging health professionals to sing to me during procedures my whole life. Finally!!! It's like a personal concert while receiving the best care in the most amazing tranquil setting with beautiful artwork all around. The doctor and his staff are just incredible! I think he's maybe the fourth endodontist to work on one of my teeth. He fixed all the problems the other guys missed. I had two root canals done by him to fix work that others had done poorly. He's incredibly thorough. The treatment is done in 2 sessions and antibiotics were prescribed in my case. I feel very lucky to live within an hour's drive. I would drive 8 hours to see Dr. Jimenez. Oh, and I almost forgot that he is a magician with a needle - the shots don't hurt. I always ask for extra time and extra shots in the beginning and he was very accommodating and understanding. I LOVE Dr. Jimenez! He is a painless Endodontist. He has done two root canals saving both teeth. Both visits there was no pain. My family dentist putting in a small filling hurts much more. He has perfected painless injections. I was waiting for him to numb me when he told me he would be back when I was numb as I had already been injected. The waiting room always has people who have travelled from out of county to see him as he is known as giving "pain free root canals". I'd give 5 stars but the lady who answers the phone, Maria ..never remembers or understands what we are discussing. Have given this office thousands of dollars and they still treat us like strangers off the street. Odd to pay out of pocket and they can't seem to understand anything they told us. Well, you said to call back and so here, im calling back. But now you don't have us in the system and you think we have the wrong #. No. I think you do not know how to use the computer or how to talk to patients and help them feel like they're *family*. Its awful enough to have to have tons of dental work done. Without the same unaware lady answer and take us through the same thing. Its tiring at this point. The other lady & Dr Jimenez are wonderful. It makes this post more difficult to write. Sorry Maria. Kind of shocked to be saying this, but the root canal performed by Dr. Jimenez was entirely painless and was a great experience! The whole thing was easier than getting a filling, which I didn't expect. I was really nervous since I've heard horror stories about how awful root canals can be, but it turns out I was anxious for no reason because Dr. Jimenez did an amazing job and was super efficient and thorough. He even put topical anesthetic on my gums prior to injecting me with anesthetic so I wouldn't even feel the pin-prick, and he made sure I was 100% numb prior to the procedure. The procedure itself only took maybe 10-15 minutes, and I didn't feel a thing. I never even felt any pain afterwards, either. I was a bit of a wreck prior to the drilling, but he has such a calming demeanor and helped ease my nerves throughout the experience - he's very empathetic. All the staff members are really kind and professional, too. Dr. Jimenez was very careful with the work and took extra steps to ensure that the pulp in my tooth was entirely removed, then packed the empty canals with antibiotics to prevent infection. Since he does multiple root canals every day, and came very highly recommended by my dentist, I felt I was making the right choice by going to him. And now that I've seen him and experienced his work first hand, I've got to say that he must be one of the best root canal specialists in the country - he's really amazing. I'm so grateful for his incredible skill, his deep experience, attention to detail, professionalism and kindness. I still can't believe I'm saying this, but my root canal was an entirely pleasant, pain-free and very good experience! Who would have thought that a root canal could be a "good experience?" Extremely nice staff, maria at the front desk was great..professional, and just about Everything about the whole experience was painless! They had to numb me up extra because I'm a big baby, but the entire root canal took about maybe 90 minutes, and went by quickly because that dentist dr cross , can do these in his sleep apparently. Dr Jimenez is amazing at what he does. Not only did he ease my anxieties about having a root canal done, but he sang to me for the majority of the process. He was VERY quick *once I got in the chair*. My only gripe was the two hours I spent in the waiting room to be seen. Very frustrating. Luckily my boss was accommodating to this mishap, but it feels as though there could be a bit better scheduling done on the part of the office so as to avoid such wait times. None the less, 2 hour wait to have a 25 minute root canal that left me with no pain, and dissipated anxiety was worth it in the end. Plus, I now have a proof canal song" (squirrel nut zippers - hell --which sounds ironic but I truly hear with fondness now). Hopefully I won't be back, but I know if I need endodontic work where I'll be going/referring others to. read more

My dentist Dr Jim Alderete ( I highly recommend his services) referred me to Dr Jimenez for a root canal. It turned out that it was not a simple procedure and provided some challenges for Dr Jimenez. Throughout the entire process, Dr Jimenez was very calming, informative, and extremely efficient. Dr Jimenez is gentle, kind, explains what hes doing, checks in on you during the procedure, he sings, his office has beautiful foliage, the area is so clean and the staff are top notch. I have major anxiety and I don't think I could have felt any more comfortable. I went to doctor Jimenez' office with an emergency root canal that had to immediately get worked on because it was causing excruciating pain to my lower jaw, while i was in my early months of pregnancy. Dr Jimenez and his assistant were super comforting through my whole root canal procedure and made it an experience I am super thankful got dealt with by him. The office is very comforting with colorful art hung on the walls. There is a very nice view of a lovely garden with a koi fish pond from the dental rooms and his music also makes the appointment feel more settle to get through. I was absolutely dreading having a 25 year old root canal redone, and I probably am a more difficult patient because I really hate seeing the dentist out of fear, but Dr. Jimenez made me feel absolutely comfortable, and procedure was relatively pain free. I experienced the same rude and compassionless behavior from those in billing who quoted one rate at the time of treatment which I paid on the spot and then two months later I received an additional bill for over $500 and then when I called to question the bill and to see if I could make payment arrangements but instead of a compassionate explanation, I was treated rudely and disrespectfully. When it comes to Endodontic treatment, Dr Jimenez is a ROCK STAR! He fixed a root canal from over a decade ago that had failed. There was a bad infection to treat and then several visits to complete the work and save the tooth. You've got to love a Dr who sings to you while he's working and he knows you are afraid or in pain. This is by far the worst dental experience I've ever had in my life... I got a root canal on December 21, 2022.... I suffered incredible pain... After five days I went to his office and saw his on-call Endodonist. I was still in pain and got no relief... Three days later I went back, saw his on-call Doctor again and got no relief... On January 3rd, 2023, I was still in pain....I spoke to Dr, Jimenez, he said, "Oh this normal this happens all the time." I said, "If that were true nobody would ever get a root canal".....The story goes on and on...Finally on January 9th after 19 days of pain I had to get the tooth removed from another real dentist who I trust......I asked Dr, Jimenez for a refund, the first time he said, "Let me check the finances"....I never heard from him... I then asked him again a second time since I never received payment... No response... This is a Doctor Who is only interested in money and does not care about his patients. He did nothing to help me out of pain not even a callback.... I experienced days and days and days of pain. Stay away from this man he's very dangerous..... When somebody does not know their own limitations and the limitations of the techniques and system they're working out of it is a red flag for narcissism... read more

Referred by my super dentist, Dr. Tsai. If she recommends him, he's good. Dr. Jimenez saw me twice to redo a nearly 20 year old root canal that began to fail. I am into technology and this is office is up-to-date. Digital x-rays, computer charting, and a microscope for Dr. Jimenez for use during my visits. Considering the treatment I needed, it is hard for me to see how my I could have gotten better care. Yes there was some discomfort, and yes it was expensive, but my dentist has stressed the importance of keeping my teeth in my head, and I am not about lose them without a fight. Honestly, I did not experience the rude treatment other Yelpers complained about. I was given the estimate and agreed to go forward with the treatment. I took care of my co-payment at the time of treatment and then I took care of my balance when the final bill came. PET PEEVE ALERT!!! The office policy I signed states that I am responsible for the cost of the treatment regardless of what the insurance does. I assume everyone was given the same policy to sign. I am not rich but I understand my responsibilities. It seems fair to me that if Dr. Jimenez and his staff treated me, I should pay him. The fact that they worked with my insurance and only collected part of the fee was a courtesy I truly appreciate. The reality is that if I am paying my balance a month later, I am actually overdue in paying for treatment I already had done. When I go shopping, I don't remember not paying at the time I get the goods - no insurance, no estimates, no follow-up bill. I pay and I get what I need or want. Maybe the office should eliminate giving out estimates altogether. Collect the full amount and then people won't complain about estimates or second bills. Keep up the good work! I was referred to Dr. Jimenez by my dentist and read the Yelp reviews before I made the appointment. I was a little hesitant because some of the reviews are pretty bad, but I followed through and am very glad I did. I wouldn't consider anything other than a 5 star review ~ the Dr and his staff are all true professionals. One thing I really appreciated is the fee. I was quoted an amount, and told there would be two appts, but once he got into fixing the bad root canal, he had to go in a third time. In order to save the tooth, he had to cut it free from a bridge it was a part of, and make it a stand-alone tooth and crown. I was expecting to owe more, but he kept the fee the same. And all three procedures included music and singing...... who knew? Kudos to Dr. John Jimenez and his staff. read more

No one likes going to the dentist, and probably even less to the endodontist.... I have been to Dr. Jimenez for a few root canals and this is my first time writing about him. Even before COVID, his office was one of the most sterile environments I have encountered, with just about every surface covered with removable barriers. In entering the practice today for my procedure in the middle of the pandemic, I was not concerned given the overall skill of his office staff. The procedure was a complex one, but he was able to treat the tooth in what turned out to be the least invasive manner. I am genuinely thankful for such high quality care. Absolutely the best! I have had several root canals over the years--and terrible, painful experiences with endodontists. So, when my entire lower right jaw began throbbing, which turned into excruciating pain, I was filled with dread and anxiety. Dr. Jimenez fit me into his appointment schedule as an emergency. He and his staff were patient, kind and gentle. A bacterial infection was the culprit. A regimen of antibiotics, Advil, salt water rinses and peridex did the trick, and I was able to sidestep another root canal. My second experience with Dr. Jimenez was a complete failure - both professionally and administratively. The greatest dissatisfaction was with their office staff. The experience got off to a rough beginning when, after the first visit for this particular tooth, I sent them an email asking to arrange a payment plan. No response. When I went in for the next visit the response to my query was 'Oh, we don't use that email anymore'. My explanation that I had obtained that email from their current website was met only by a blank stare. When I described this sequence to Dr. Jimenez, his response was that he delegates all non-professional/administrative issues (including payment) to his office staff. The endodontic issue involved re-do of an old root canal. After what seemed to be careful evaluation, including an expensive "panoramic" xray, Dr. Jimenez said he was confident he could save the tooth. I understood that was not a guarantee, but decided to proceed. Well, over $2000 later (plus another $1200 to my regular dentist for a new crown), the tooth was not saved. The residual dissatisfaction, however, and primary reason for this review, again involves office staff error. She had suggested a follow-up visit for Monday June 6th (2016). I explained that would not work - we were leaving on vacation that morning. She then offered 11:30AM Thursday June 2. I accepted that appointment and she made out the appointment card. When I showed up for the aforementioned appointment she asked "May I help you?". I responded "I have an 11:30AM appointment", to which she said "No, your appointment is Monday". After protest, during which I reminded her the card she had given me clearly was for this date and time, I was told "You can wait if you wish, but it will probably be a long wait as the doctor is very busy today". Nothing resembling an apology. I waited for about 15 minutes, then left. When I got home I emailed them (using their correct email address) a copy of the appointment card. No response. A couple hours later Dr. Jimenez called, asking "Why did you leave?". I described what had happened. Again no apology. He asked if I could come in at 4:30PM. I said I would be there. On the way to that appointment my car was rear-ended while at a signal light. The impact was moderate. The car was drivable and the whiplash experienced didn't seem severe at the time, so the information exchange was conducted quickly and I proceeded to Dr. Jimenez. When I explained what had happened to Dr. Jimenez his response was to the effect "that's not my fault", without apology ! As I was leaving I also mentioned to the office person - no apology. A few months later, while still undergoing physical therapy for repercussions of the accident, I wrote Dr. Jimenez a letter describing what I was still going through, partly as a consequence of their error. I asked for him to consider a partial refund of what I had paid him. Two days later he called. My wife answered the call, telling him I was not immediately available but I would call back soon. I called and sent a text message to his direct cell number about 30 minutes later. Neither ever got any response. Apologies to any readers for the long review, but you might find it worthwhile to be VERY CAREFUL with any communications you have with Dr. Jimenez' office. read more

From the time I booked my appointment to my follow up, I was extremely impressed with my treatment and the professionalism demonstrated by his team. He walked me through everything ahead of time, so I knew what to expect and was not greeted by any unexpected surprises. Unfortunately I cannot recommend Dr. John Jimenez. He did do a good root canal for me in September, 2013, despite his untrained assistant who couldn't place an exray card properly and had me gagging and tears running down my face. His work was fine that time. He has a pleasant and calming demeanor and beautiful office. However, in Sept. of this year, I needed another root canal and after the procedure, he announced that he didn't need to put the post in so I would receive a $67 refund. Within two months the tooth had broken off. Obviously, his not needing to put a post in was a BAD call. Why not err on the side of security? The broken off tooth had to be extracted and a replacement bridge made. It will be an extremely expensive procedure and, of course, no bridge can be as good as ones own tooth. read more
