Dickerson & Nieman Realtors - 815 Day 2023

Following several months of preparing our lovely home for sale, my husband and I put the house on…read morethe market. After a year of working with a local, Freeport realtor -- who in our estimation, contributed to a variety of setbacks in our ability to sell the house, as well as displaying a decorum of unprofessionalism on several occasions, we decided to hire a different realtor. A few months after working with our new person, we discovered that our former realtor--while under contract to represent us had contributed to our losing a potential sale to a highly interested party. This realtor failed to make any effort to inform us of that hopeful buyers' request for a second viewing and their desire to make a cash offer on our house. Encouraged by several acquaintances, my husband and I then hired Seaver Sisler of Dickerson Nieman, in Rockford, IL. From day one, working with him was a positive and successful journey to selling our house. Seaver understood our prior situation and frustrations, but he assured us that he and the staff of Dickerson Nieman would make every effort necessary to help us sell our former home. He was almost always available to by way of phone to address our questions or concerns, make recommendations for maintenance services, or to offer advice on styling and presentation that would highlight a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere in the house. We especially appreciated his respect toward us and our attitudes when addressing issues such as pricing, descriptions in our online listing, or considering additional upgrades while the house remained on the market. In our opinion, Seaver exhibited a courteous and professional manner with all individuals in the process, e.g. a potential buyer's realtor, home inspectors, lending institutions, title company reps, etc. --and he relayed all information and feedback to us as needed, in a timely manner. In addition to fulfilling the expectations one would have of a competent real estate professional, Seaver went beyond those to offer additional courtesies such as driving from Winnebago to Freeport to help move a heavy piece of furniture, let in service people while we were at work, and even to trim bushes on the property. During our in-person interactions with Seaver Sisler, he exuded a friendly and pleasant demeanor--genuinely interested in what we had to say, and he would talk with us for as long as we needed to converse. Best of all, he always made us feel well-cared-for--consistently assuring us that "things would work out," even during a rocky time in the real estate market, and that the house would eventually sell to the right buyer.
