I used to come here a lot, but more for the cosmetics then the clothing. The store is minimalist with layout to other stores in the area. I have been getting the cosmetic from Asian mostly just because they had more colors and choices. but when i don't get to go i used to come here for them. As another person had mentioned the line is very limited with more neutral colors and limited items, and I have been using Jill Stuart line since the initial launch in Japan 2005. I loved the fact that not only were they great products but also so pretty and fragrant and feminine. During the pandemic when I had not been able to back i would order online from the store, bur so sad that the cosmetics are leaving North America. Hopefully they will come back to the U.S. market and stronger then ever. read more

Whatever happened to customer service? I've been to the Jill Stuarts in Asia and the sales associates over there treat you with respect. I came into this NYC location expecting a lot because I have almost every single item from their cosmetic line. The girls at the counter didn't even say hi or acknowledge that we were even there. i didn't even bother buying anything from them. But i really have to admit.. i really love their cosmetic line! However, the line here is very limited. They don't have as much as the stones in Asia. They have more clothing here than makeup. read more

I don't think I would ever buy any clothes here, but hey, it is FNO 2012 and they helped me have a wonderful time. This year for FNO 2012, alcohol and food seem to be scarce, but luckily we found this place. I was immediately able to spot people with wine glasses inside and made a mad dash for the back. Mm, perhaps an AA meeting is in order... They had a cute female DJ spinning good tunes and wine flowing. I like that. The place is spacious with high ceilings. Also, a bathroom right in the store. Service is horrible here. There are two girls who just chitchat the whole time and don't give you the time of day. I was browsing around and looking at the cosmetics there when one of the girls rudely said to me, "You need to use a cotton swab" when I put the eyeshadow on my hand. Provided that it did sound a little gross, I wasn't putting it on my face and Sephora taught me to just use it on my hand to try out the color. Anyhow, I decided to buy the eye color and the two girls immediately became nicer to me. What a change! and then they told me no refunds. read more

Umm...I don't know what's wrong with miss hissy fit reviewer "Yue X" (personally, I am suspicious of any reviewer who only has two reviews, both of them only one star. hello, vendetta much?)...she just seems angry. But I have attended a number of the special events at Jill Stuart and stuffed myself silly with their sweet treats, mini-Sophia champagne cocktails, and walked away with some really great deals. The clothes aren't always "edgy" enough for my personal taste, but for those of you who love pretty feminine dresses, this is THE place to hit up. Great for holiday parties & weddings. And yes, the deals at the end of the season are amazing. If you're paying $100 for a dress that was originally $400, yeah, it's gonna be final sale. I quite like it in here. The minimalist design and the clothing during the fall and winter is just great. Got a great fuzzy hat and scarf set last year. But months ago I went in to see their new beauty/makeup line and I was quite impressed havent been back because the moist eyeshadow (that melts onto your eye) I still have a lot of it. And now with the Jill by Jill Stuart lower line, you can feel even better about your splurge. My mom is also able to find things here which I think is the sign of a good store. read more

The clothes are definitely great at Jill Stuart and with the recession, their prices keep falling and falling. However, I was thoroughly disappointed by their customer service. I walked into a Jill Stuart today, 2/13/09, greeted by Kirstan and Sarah, both busily chatting away on their cell phones. When I purchased my item and noticed the "Final Sale" stamp on the receipt, I questioned it. These are the remarks that were said to me: "This is Soho. All Soho boutiques have a Final Sale policy on sale items. We're not Old Navy. They have a much more lenient return policy." Followed by "You should have asked about the return policy BEFORE you purchased it. It's really your responsibility." And the icing on the cake was when one of them said, "You could discover there's a big hole on the shirt now and we still can't return it for you." Regardless of the store's return policy, I was deeply disturbed the the snarky duo and did not appreciate their stereotypical Soho attitude. No customer deserves to be talked down to. read more
