They overtightened the drain plug and stripped the threads, meaning the entire oil pan had to be replaced. I went to the Almaden location, explained exactly what they did, and they flat out refused to fix it. I had to pay $533 out of my own pocket to repair the damage they caused. Shady business... wipers were changed without my consent when I just got it done recently. Engine filter was also changed without my consent. They usually show you the filter and ask if you'd like to change it out now or next time. I kept asking to see the screen of work and charges but kept asking me to sign. I finally saw why the price seems double due to the upsell they do on this location without asking. I would avoid this location. Never had issues with other location. read more

I have had my oil/filter changed here for several years w/o any issues. Today they returned my car with check engine light on claiming it was on when I came in. I am pretty sure I would have noticed that so from now on I'll be taking a picture of my dash board before service. They suggested I go to a nearby autozone store for diagnosis as they couldn't diagnose there. But this yelp listing says have 'check engine' service, so what is it yes no maybe so? This is the second Jiffy Lube that's boned my car, and I'm lucky I caught it soon enough to not cause major damage. I attached a picture. I've taken immaculate care of my truck. I've done all of my oil changes on time, usually at Walmart in Gilroy. The last 2 or 3 oil changes have been done at this Jiffy Lube. 100% synthetic. Imagine my surprise yesterday when the oil light came on. Imagine my further surprise when I looked at my dipstick and found it BONE DRY. Imagine my frustration when I saw all this yellow goop around my drain plug, like someone had torqued it to the point where the threads stripped, and all the oil came out. I just got off the phone with someone who told me that's just there to hold it in place. Why is it sandwiched between the plug gasket and the drain plug then? I'll be calling in the morning to talk to the manager to make this right. This truck has NEVER leaked oil, and the picture shows it's all been leaking out of the drain plug. read more

Avoid this location at all cost!! If you don't agree to the upsells they won't even do a complete service that is being paid for like top off low fluids or check tires .. I always check levels when I get home and lo and behold they struck again this is the 2nd time this location has done this. Basically it's fraud if they aren't performing service that are being paid for .. it may seem small but that not the point .. point is if I'm paying for it then do it.. currently buying a bottle of coolant instead of taking my car back to these fraudulent people.. now my oil change went up another $20 because of these people too worried about sales . I went to the Jiffy location on Almaden in San Jose cross street Curtner. They tried to say my car would not start even though I drove it there and never had this problem. They tried to tell me I needed a new battery. that was a lie because my dash tells me the voltage and that day it was 14. That is great. I told Jose that I was just there for a oil change . When my car was done i went to start it and my car would not start. There guys who were helping me started laughing and when I jumped out of my car and started yelling and told them my son is SJPD and I was calling him. The 2 guys that were laughing were now jumping into a truck and takes off. I got the license plate and made a complaint to corporate. Oh and i started yelling at this other worker and told him to go into my car and start my car. Guess what he went to my car sat inside and started it right up. I flip my handle. $90 used to get me a synthetic oil change, and then tire pressure check, inside vacuum, and window clean. NOW, I pay $130 for the oil change...and that's all I get. I even asked what air pressure they set my tires to; I was told 35psi. After the drive home, I checked the display on my dash, and there was no change. I WAS LIED TO. After the oil change was done, my car sat in a parking stall for almost 10 minutes, while the guys in the bay joked around, before someone asked me to pay. Opened up my passanger side and glove and left my car in disarray. I guess I have bad luck with Jiffy Lube because all I get is Rude employees. I stopped by here to get my oil change done and before I knew anything my car was outside ready to go. The employees did not want to help me with discount coupons and I was searching for awhile. Every cupon I pulled up the employee supposedly helping me would day no we don't take that coupon. Finally after the 4th time found coupon online. He said all done. I know the last time I went to Jiffy Lube I was told my air filters were very bad. They never bothered to check and was sending me on my way, so I asked did you check the filters? He told the other employees to check and the filters and the filters were full of leaves and black soot. He asked if I wanted the replaced and I said of course. He then charged me double the price of my oil change and with my $16 discount I found it was a total of $169.00 even I only have a Mazda not a Mercedes $185.00 Seemed pretty high to me...Don't come here, it's a rip off and bad customer service!!! Didn't assemble glove glove box properly after taking apart. Marked that they inflated tires to 35psi, but never actually check them (they were at 27psi. I know this because I checked manually with handheld gauges and my on board vehicle gauges prior and post oil change. I took my fairly new (20,000 mile) car in for an oil change purely because I didn't have the time to do it myself (I always do my own work, being a mechanic). There was no wait, the staff were perfectly friendly and professional. The guy behind the counter was actually a long time schoolmate of mine, funny enough. Sure, the price was more than I would normally pay (remember I do all my own work) but it wasn't outrageously so. The work was all done correctly and with attention to detail. They tightened my oil plug so tightly that 5 people so far have failed at getting it off. We have used penetrating WD-40, we have the correct socket wrench, the car is propped up for best angle, and no one can remove the oil plug. It's ridiculous. I recently went to this Jiffy Lube. A few days later I had some more work done at the Volkswagen dealership and they showed me what a disaster these guys did with my car. There was an oil leak from the oil filter housing to the powers steering line to the bell housing and also it was dripping from the oil pan drain plug to the oil engine cover and all over the hoses. I had a bad oil leak in my driveway from an oil change I had done that week from another Jiffy Lube. I did not think I could make it back to the one I had gone to. I decided to go to this one to see if they could fix it. I met Jay and he had Oscar get on it as soon as I pulled up. They were both very polite and said they could fix it. Oscar found out that the other Jiffy Lube did not replace the gasket and it was cracked. I was in and out in 20 mins. Thanks to both of them I was able to go to work that morning. read more

By far the rudest customer service here. They try to rush thru and commit you to sign to their agreement for a $99 synthetic oil change. When asked to use regular they state the "car doesn't take regular. Synthetic only." While I'm on the phone to confirm with my husband the pricing and options, they push their pad to sign and tell u to sign, and say it again. Rude. Do I have to ask them to back off just to give me a second? I too feel very uncertain of their integrity. I would not ever come back here again even if they were offering an out of this world discount I am not one to make a scene but this place really knew how to push buttons and try to trick you to commit and sign for something you probably should not agree to. Just trying to help. Next person verifies the oil with me and another guy takes my car and came pretty close to hitting me moving my car into the station. They have the computer next to where the oil change station is. So clearly they don't think much of their customers. Also my car has new windshield wipers and they tried hard to sell me two for $6.00. I didn't care for that and my car doesn't need another new set already. Came here this past wkend to get my oil changed and had a horrible experience. I drive up to the building and parked behind a couple of cars. The guy who first helped me was a bit socially awkward and I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do, so I stood around until further instructions. After a few awkward minutes, he told me to just wait inside. OK ... well I was hungry, so I wanted to get the paperwork ready and just come back, but they weren't ready, so I stood around for about another 40 minutes. They drive my car into the building and called out my car name. I went to the counter and they had already taken out my air filter and placed it on the table. I came in for an oil change, why did you take out my air filter?!?! Who does that?!?! He said it was dirty, run down and needed to be placed for x amount of dollars. You might as well take apart my car and tell me everything that's wrong. I came for an oil change, not an air filter replacement, stop ripping me off and just get the oil changed! We went through all the pages on the screen about information on my car and he tried to sell me almost everything. They had bar graphs on what's recommended and compared my car against the average (average from what, I dont know). Even for the sections where my car was doing well, he had to add a note about getting it to be even better. I came here for an oil change right? I checked in via Yelp and they had a $10.5 off promotion for a general oil change. I asked the guy who helped me if I can use this and he said "Oh, you have to talk to my manager. I'm not sure if this can be used because it's not related.". I CAME HERE FOR AN OIL CHANGE RIGHT? Why can't I use the oil change deal for my oil change?!?! Ugh. So thankfully the Manager who did the paperwork and payment for me knew what was going on and he took off $10.5 from my bill (my total bill after the deal was $28). I was even toying with taking it back to Beverly Hills BMW when I'm in LA this weekend, getting a loaner, serious pain in the arse... when I saw that the Jiffy Lube was open at 6pm on a weeknight right across the parking lot from my gym. Winner. Not only was it cheap, there was $10.50 off on Yelp and I was done when I finished my workout. I looked up the closest Jiffy Lube and made a phone call. The gentleman on the phone was kind, considerate and accommodating. Paid almost $100 for an oily change and they only did the bare minimum on my oil change. Marked off that they vacuumed, they didn't. Marked off that they washed exterior windows, they didn't. Didn't look at the air filter but said they did. If I had the time I would change my oil myself because what the hell am I paying almost $100 dollars for if they're not even doing half the things they should be. Dishonest and rude. I brought my car here over the weekend for what I thought would be a quick oil change. The guy brought me out to the work bay to show me on the screen that he was going to put synthetic oil (to the tune of $80 just for the oil) in my car. I said no, I don't want synthetic oil in my car. My car takes regular oil. The guy proceeded to argue back and forth with me that my car NEEDED synthetic oil. After some time arguing with this totally condescending halfwit, he finally asked if I had brought my car there before, to which I said no. You'd think he could have looked up in his records or something .And he said oh well we only put synthetic oil in cars here (even though I could clearly see on the screen that there was an option for regular).
