We went to Jiffy Lube for an oil change. Within an hour and a half hour red light went on showing a problem with the oil. We took the car immediately to a service station. 1 quart of oil that was almost black and the car in danger of having the engine seized. We paid for an oil change with 5 1/2 quarts of fresh oil. Taylor was so patient and kind as he put air in all 4 tires, took time to discover where the latch release was on my newer model car and filled the (apparently very large) windshield fluid reservoir countless times! Pulled over to get an oil change on my truck at 3:45pm on Friday. All three bays were open and one was being used by a car. I was asked to wait behind the car being serviced despite two service bays being empty. After 20 minutes waiting while witnessing all five guys stand around the car being serviced, I took off. They couldn't care less. read more

I went in for an oil change and had them put in a new oil filter and change my oil they did change my filter but NEVER CHANGED MY OIL! And then charged me almost 100$ Never go here this was the oil after 8 days and less than 200 miles believe me I'm coming back for my money!!!! read more

I had some pretty complex car issues when on a road trip in MA and the folks here really went out of their way to help me out. Danny and his team took time to explain everything I needed and were polite and friendly the entire time we were there. When it looked like a part I needed wouldn't make it in time, one of the team members Jeremy even offered to come in on Easter Sunday to fix it and gave me and my friends a ride to our hotel-- just above and beyond service and kindness when we were really in a bind. I received an oil change service at Jiffy Lube, 1050 South Str. Pittsfield, MA 01201 in July 2021. Jeremy Sigoski, assistant manager was working with his crew on my in the car service. Jeremy explained the condition of the car to me, the services he recommended, the pros and cons of the service and anything extra etc. Jeremy observed all the COVID protocols with the mask etc. The service was efficient, professional, courteous. With the new owners came removal of free coffee, no water cooler, and no free car wash for customers. Prices went up and service way down. Surprised on how dishonest they have become with needless trying to pressure you with extra selling repairs. Inspection hours are hit and miss. Not great. read more

About my bad experience at Jiffy Lube in Pittsfield MA 01201. Please note that I am a former precision assembly technician at Hughes Aircraft in California and I am very knowledgeable about auto mechanics and have been doing general repairs on my own cars for 50 years. One morning last month, as I was driving by Jiffy Lube, I noticed they were just then opening and, since there were no customers there yet, I decided to pull in for an anti-freeze check because we had very cold weather coming to our area. This check is done with a special meter and takes less than a minute to do. After waiting for over a half hour after my minivan was brought into the garage and they were getting busy with customers and not letting me know anything, I finally got the attention of one worker and asked what was going on with my minivan. He told me to hold on and that he would go check. When he came back and told me that "my radiator and fan were shot" and that the other guy was writing up an estimate to replace them. "I LOST IT". I yelled at the guy in front of several waiting customers, called him a F'ing A'hole, and told him I just wanted an anti-freeze check and that there was never ever a damn thing wrong with my radiator or fan. I then demanded that he bring my car out front immediately and said out loud, "now, everyone in this waiting room knows that you guys just attempted to screw a senior citizen". I left and never did get my anti-freeze checked as I wanted. This ordeal shows that there is absolutely no communication among Jiffy Lube workers and that they are all incompetent. The first guy I talked to never relayed a clear message that I only wanted my anti-freeze checked. So the next guy in line got things twisted and somehow assumed that I had a radiator overheating problem. Now, this reveals another important fact. It proves that these guys have absolutely no knowledge of basic auto mechanics. First of all, it's evident that they never even looked at my temperature gauge, which showed a normal reading. So, if my radiator was really overheating, a real mechanic would follow certain procedures to determine what was causing the overheating. A radiator would only need replacing if it has a serious leak or clogs, which is extremely rare. The three most common causes of an overheating radiator are anti-freeze/coolant leaks in the system, a defective thermostat, or a defective water pump. It's very very obvious to me that many franchised auto service garages, like Mavis, Monro, and Jiffy Lube, make it a regular practice to hire unprofessional help in order to avoid paying high wages. I am also absolutely positive that the employees are encouraged and pushed by the owners to sell every customer as many services and auto parts as possible whether they need them or not. They do this every single day and get away with it. I've been hearing about these horror stories for decades. Unfortunately, the government doesn't help or protect us regular citizens anymore. I don't even trust Jiffy Lube for oil changes anymore. The employees look like lazy bums and I don't trust them at all. read more

Unbelievable and rather disingenuous company and management team. Long-winded story that keeps getting worse at every turn. June 10th I needed service on my Audi A6 so I called the Audi dealership and the Service Manager tells me that he is booking for three weeks out as they are extremely busy. I happened to be driving past the Pittsfield, MA Jiffy Lube, and pull in. They get me into the bay and immediately tell me I need a coolant flush and replacement due to the amount of rust in the radiator. I pass and asked just to change the motor oil (The next day Audi dealership tells me that my radiator fluid is in fine shape) Ten minutes go by and I notice they are all talking around my car, they call me out and show me how the mechanic did not know how to remove the protective shield on the bottom of my Audi and hence drained the transmission fluid instead of motor oil by mistake. I told them that I wanted only Audi fluid in the car and they tell me that they already have it on the way directly from Audi and it will be fixed shortly. I called Audi myself to make sure they ordered the correct fluid and the same Audi Customer Service Manager that I spoke to earlier tells me "not only did they not call us for the correct fluid that needs to be special ordered, but they also need a special tool and a computer to fill it up correctly. I walk out into the shop to discuss that with them and they tell me that it takes 7.2 quarts and acme branded fluid is fine. When I asked about the tool and computer they suggested that I tow it to the Audi dealership. We will pay to have it fixed, oil change, transmission fluid, the tow, the uber to the car rental and the car rental. The local Audi dealership was able to complete the job two days later on Friday afternoon, I was away on business but the dealership tells me that they only drained three quarts and it was a good thing they did not just pour 7 quarts in as it would have damaged the transmission. I pick up the car Monday morning when they re-open and brought the receipts and a written recap over to the store. The Manager tells me the previous manager was fired and he would take care of everything: 1)$588.21 for the Audi oil and transmission change 2)$80.00 for the tow (I purchased a new AAA membership that day at $174 and then I charged Jiffy Lube $80.00 of that $174.00 as that is what the cost would be for a tow. 3) $354.24 for the rental car - This was the lowest cost full-size car available from Enterprise Car. A few weeks go by and I only get a check for 588.21 out of the $1022.45 out of pocket that was due me. I called and asked for the manager and he handed the phone to the Divisional Manager, a Mr. Vinnie Martuchi. Well, Vinnie tells me he needed to process one check at a time, first the damages and then the tow and the rental. "It has all been processed and you should receive your $434.24 check any day now." Today on 7/16 almost five weeks after they had receipts in hand, I received a check for only $200.00, still short $234.24. I called the Jiffy Lube and the man that answered the phone was apologetic upon listening to my story and he told me that he could not give me Vinnie's number but that Vinnie should call me back in the next day or so. Then perhaps he thought he hung up, I thought he was going to get me their corporate phone number. Long and short in the background I hear another Jiffy Lube employee who asks the guy I was talking to what occurred? They talk about how Vinnie told me that the check request for me was taken care of when it was not and then they say "This is the second person today looking for Vinnie because Vinnie shortchanged them on their repair. Clearly they must be breaking numerous cars with their poor training and then Vinnie picks up the pieces by making promises that he does not follow through on. Avoid this company, Atlantic Coast Enterprises, LLC at all costs UPDATE: I called Jiffy Lube corporate and the corporate office of the Atlantic Coast Enterprise Jiffy Lube. They both told me that there was a 30.00 a day limit to a rental. I explained that: 1) I was not told of any limit by the manager when I needed to rent the car. 2) Even if there was a limit I was going to rent a comparable car and would not be out of pocket for any of Jiffy Lubes' mistakes. 3) I would definitely take them to small claims over this. Two more days without any word from the MIA Vinnie I drove to the Jiffy Lube in question. When I was there they called Vinnie, he agreed to talk to me. Vinnie parrotted the 30.00 a day limit. I again stated that I was never informed and even if I was, I would have rented a full-size car. (This is your legal right to get a compatible car when it's not your fault, a court will always back you up when it goes that far, insurance companies and most certainly Jiffy Lube are well aware) The following day Vinne calls me and said that I should receive the balance with a third check to be cut. read more

Pros: very fast service, faster than any jiffy lube I remember. Also willing to help you out informally if they are missing parts or cannot perform repair. The techs seem easy to deal with and willing to help right away. Cons: Always feel pressured into doing extra and unnecessary services....hurried through the sales which makes it harder to ask questions and make sure the service is good. Overall 3.75. read more

My car is a bit eccentric -1973. We had the battery replaced at Jiffy Lube and a needed state inspection. After we drove 20 minutes away, we pulled over to fill the tank. When we tried to turn the ignition, the car would not start. So we tried getting a jump from a friendly passerby (nice to see nice people willing to help) but that didn't do the trick. We had to call AAA to get towed. As a last resort while AAA was headed to us, I gave Jiffy Lube a call. Rather than them telling us they couldn't do anything, which is what I expected they decided to send someone out to help and so we cancelled AAA. Then the service manager talked us through a checklist we could try. Well that did the trick and we were on our way. We called back of course to thank them and say the help they were sending was not necessary. But I have to say that we hadn't expected them to try so hard to help. I hate to say it but, today this is a truly rare effort. The whole team worked to help us out. They are really remarkable people over there. I highly recommend them. read more

I am often suspect of the up-sell at the end of the oil change. When I went in earlier this week for a basic oil change, the tech told me that my front brakes were totally shot, practically metal on metal (said they had put a camera scope up there), and that it would be a $400+ repair. She emphasized to me that this was really dangerous and showed me a visualization of the front of a car all lit up with red -- like, "danger!" She also said I was really low on transmission fluid and how this would do damage. I already had a tune-up scheduled at Ford's Auto Service in Lee a few days later so I declined -- plus I had had my brakes inspected semi recently, so I was suspicious I could have burned through so much of my brake pads. Sure enough, the tech at Jiffy Lube was totally BSing me. The honest mechanics at Ford's told me that my front brakes were totally fine, had at at least 75% of the brake pad, and that all I needed was a top off of my transmission fluid. This is just really upsetting to me when auto places try to take advantage of people who don't know too much about their vehicle and rely on honest info. To make matters worse, she pressed on about the need for these repairs even after I told her money was really tight for me right now -- with bogus fear mongering about my safety. This is just totally not cool, Jiffy Lube. People need to know that they will be taken advantage of at this location. read more

I was told by mechanic that the brakes were practically shot and they should be changed. I was also told the same about the shocks. I also had a brake light on the dash that was on. I declined service on all of the above. I then took my car to a master mechanic for a thorough inspection of brakes and shocks. I was told neither the brakes or shocks needed service. They were fine. The mechanic topped off the brake fluid and the red light went out on the dash. That would lead me to believe these folks tried to swindle me. I brought another one of my cars in to them earlier in the week. They told me it too needed brakes and a new battery. I went to this location on a Saturday for an inspection around 11 after driving 4 hours from NY to the MA border (car registered in MA). I went in to confirm there were inspections going on that day and I was told Yes & to park my car around back. There were no cars in front of me and no cars in the inspection bay. I understand it was around lunch time but I was continuously informed that someone would be with me shortly. After over an hour, the guy randomly appeared and was now ready to suddenly start doing inspections . I would have appreciated being told that the inspector was on lunch or to come back rather than wasting over an hour. If this is standard practice, then the hours should be modified to reflect the inactivity during the lunch hour w/ inadequate staffing. read more

I went to Jiffy Lube, as usual for my oil change. I know they always try to sell something at the end, im aware of that. But this time I am in awe. They told me I had NO REAR BRAKES and to drive would do more damage. I asked the guy is he sure, and he says oh yes, you're almost metal on metal hun. Now listen to me. I JUST HAD MY FRONT AND REAR PADS AND ROTORS REPLACE 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO THIS!! How can they do this to people?? Straight lie to make more money!! I a single mom with NO HELP!! THIS IS DISGUSTING BUSINESS MANNERS. Also after the last oil change, I started leaking oil from one of my engine seals. I know they kept saying something about pressure and how they had to keep doing something after my oil change before I could go.... makes me wonder if they did something to make me come back and spend more money? I went for an oil change, waited about 10 minutes while worked #1 was working on a car, worker #2 Was walking around the bays and worker #3 was on his cell phone. A guy in a pickup truck pulled up behind me and suddenly, two workers came out,one came to and one to the guy in the truck. My guy told me to pull up to the middle bay and the other worker came running over and told us he was doing truck guy first because it was going to be quicker. read more

I took my car to this Jiffy Lube because the reminder light came on and I have been generally pleased with the company. It was a Saturday afternoon with 2 cars being worked on an no one ahead of me. I asked for the lowest cost refill. As we finished they called me to look at the coolant and said things were looking bad and I should have the coolant system cleaned out as soon as possible or they could not be responsible if anything went wrong. I did not feel confident having read other reviews here so I asked them to top off the coolant and I would have it looked at when I got home. First thing next morning I took it to a highly regarded repair shop in my neighborhood ( it has 15 Yelp reviews every one of them 5 stars). I stood next to the mechanic as he raised the hood. He said that it had not been topped off and showed me that the reserve tank had not had its cap replaced which would have ensured a bad result. He said the coolant system was fine. BEWARE. read more

I went on a Sunday afternoon and the staff were really great and professional. I interacted with three people and everyone seemed very nice. I never write yelp reviews but my experience here warranted a first! This was honestly the most seamless and pleasant customer service experience I've had, possibly ever. I called in advance to get input about replacing a part and the guy who answered was extremely thorough and informative about the process. Then, when I arrived that day, the team greeted me by name (they'd remembered I'd called and were expecting me) and they were extremely pleasant and accommodating from start to finish. They were sensitive about my budget for the part replacement (serpentine belt) and then brought out the old belt to prove how badly it needed replacement. I then got a free car wash, which is included with service. Hands down, a perfect experience. Such a pleasant surprise after having so many bad ones with auto shops. Got a full synthetic oil change for my 2014 Toyota Tundra and used a discount coupon because the synthetic oil care is prohibitive;ly expensive. At least for me it is. They did a good job and gave me a coupon for a free car wash. However, the onsite carwash was very, very difficult for me to get into because you have to make an almost 90 degree turn to enter the wash building, so my truck could not line up well with the tire slot you need to drive on to. Was almost impossible to get in and then the truck got stopped in the middle of the wash twice. They offered to run me through again---the attendant was excellent. But, I declined. Seemed like I might get damage to the truck if I tried again. But---I will use them again for oil changes as we have 4 vehicles. read more

It's the only quick lube place in the area I know of, so when I needed an oil change/lube I headed over there. They were reasonably fast, polite, etc., but later that day I started getting loud noises from the rear wheel; it turned out a brake caliper was loose! Did they do that? I'm not sure, but since then I've talked to other people who've had problems immediately after going to this Jiffy Lube, including having their oil overfilled, etc. I won't be going back, and I'd caution anyone else who's thinking of using them. read more
