If I could give this place a 0/5 I would. You see a lot of reviews here telling you to avoid this…read moreplace. Don't be like me and not listen, truly avoid it. This all started by requesting an appointment online. When you request an appointment, it states that the appointment is not confirmed but a representative will contact you to confirm the time and date. I looked through all of my phone calls and emails (spam included) and recieved nothing. My appointment was never confirmed. But I learned they did walk-in, so I did a walk in instead. I did this at 3:30pm. The shop closes at 6pm. When I arrived the man sitting at the front desk was very rude and contradictory in all of his sentences. He stated that a diagnostic testing would be $206 for my car and would take over an hour to do (keep this in mind for further into my review). I have two lights on. 1. Low Brake Fluid. 2. Stabilitrak. I shared that my car had a low blake fluid light, and that online GM's are very common to have Stabilitrak problems when there is low brake fluid. The man finally agreed to come look at my car (but wasn't happy about it after cutting me off constantly in all of my sentences). He opened the hood outside and ask if any pedals were low. I told him no, and offered him my keys if he wanted to take a look. He refused to take my keys and started walking back to the building, turned around and said "actually let me take it for a drive". The drive was around to the back of the building where he pulled it inside. The car was not touched after it was pulled inside (literally watched through the windows). During the time that my car sat there, another customer came in for an appointment with a different car. The man was also very rude to this gentleman and was cutting off all of his sentences as well. During this converstation, the man at the counter shared that it would be $104 to run diagnostics on this vehicle (which is crazily $102 less then he quoted me? But dont worry this gets even better.) He also told the gentleman with the car that it probably wouldnt get done today because he was sending his guy home (mechanic). Keep it mind, it is 3:30pm and the shop does not close until 6pm. He then goes into the back and pulls my car back around. He comes inside with my keys and says "we dont do diagnostics here so you will have to bring it somewhere else". Quite literally CarX does diagnostics? Especially since YOU QUOTED ME A DIAGNOSTIC COST?! You arent the jiffylube across the street who quite literallly does oil changes all day. You just didn't want to. Now I cant wait for the response that they leave to every single negative review on here. "[Persons name] please contact at Customer Service at 1-800-876-6676, ext 2. Thank you." Take ownership for the way you treat people, because what you are doing isn't working. Maybe you should live by your own motto while you are at it... "For Service you can Trust."

I thought I got a pretty good deal with my Groupon coupon for a 4-wheel alignment with Car-X. BUT,…read moreI was pretty much just plain wrong. To begin with, the Groupon listing showed a Car-X located in Eden Prairie - good location for me, so I went ahead with the purchase. When I called to make the appointment, a woman speaking very broken English indicated that the Eden Prairie location had been closed for MONTHS. Hmmm - why is the location still showing as available on Groupon? She had no idea. Next closest location was Golden Valley. When I called in, they indicated I could just drop my vehicle off ANYTIME without an appointment and they would call when it was done. Unfortunately, I had no ride. When I told the gentleman this, he suggested - twice - that I "Uber" my car in. Someone please tell me why I would use Groupon to save $30, only to spend $40-60 to Uber to and from Car-X? I asked if they had a waiting room and the customer service rep on the phone indicated they did, so I made an appointment for 1:00 pm on Tuesday afternoon and opted to wait it out. I made it into the Golden Valley Car-X at about 12:30 pm. Older of the two men at the counter checked me in, getting a bit miffed when I told him that I had a Groupon and he said he had to redo my paperwork - he wished I would have told him that before he went through the work of putting my information into the computer. I reminded him that I had told him I had the Groupon when I made the appointment and was given a side-eye. Took my keys at 1:00 pm. He had told me when I set the appointment that alignments take about 1.5-2 hours, so I went to the "waiting room" to settle in. While I was waiting, I couldn't help but overhear the phone calls coming in - folks all being told to just "come on in and we'll take care of you right away today, no appointment necessary!" This on almost every call that was answered. Jeez, I thought - great service here! Yeah, right. At about 3:30 PM (yes, 2.5 hours later), a very wary-looking service tech came out into the waiting area and when I asked about my vehicle, he said it was just then being taken for a test drive BEFORE THEY DID THE ALIGNMENT. WHAAAAAAAAAAT? It hadn't been started yet? He said that he was the one and only tech on the job and was doing all he could to get to all of the vehicles as quickly as possible. He apologized and said that he had told the customer service rep in the front that my car should be started on since I had been there actually waiting for the job to be done and he was told to put others in front of me - as they walked in without appointments. When I asked how much longer it was going to be, he said once he got it back into the shop, he could get it done for me in 20 minutes. Again - WHAAAAAAAT? I was told a 4-wheel alignment took 1.5 - 2 hours. Am I supposed to feel secure in the quality of the work done in 20 minutes? Um. Sure. About 30 minutes later, the younger of the two C S Reps came into the waiting room and said my car was ready to go. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the amount of time I had waited, but once again was told I could have Ubered the car in and not had to wait. At this point, he got MY stink-eye. When I mentioned overhearing the phone calls and customers being told to "come right in", he said it was COMPANY POLICY to tell everyone that to get them in the door. OK, then. To be fair, this younger gentleman was at least attempting to be pleasant. On top of everything else, I was told my balance due after the Groupon was just over $14 for "fees and taxes" - no offer of any sort of break or compensation for the horrible service. (It was in the fine print on the Groupon website, so okay.) So there were a total of THREE employees manning this Car-X location. And only one of them was a service tech. Please, please, please - save yourself the headache. Pay full price for a wheel alignment somewhere else. It is well worth $120-150 not to waste half of your day for questionable service at Car-X.

Valvoline Instant Oil Change is not what it used to be. I had a terrible experience there recently…read more During my visit, when the inexperienced (young, untrained, under paid, careless) worker went to open the air filter box with a drill driver, they got three of the four bolts halfway out before stripping the Philips head on the bolts. Even after they were obviously stripped, they just kept at it like it was going to eventually grab. I watched all this from the driver seat. When they finally gave up, they used that same drill driver to try to screw the stripped bolts back in. That didn't work and they just left the bolts halfway out without saying anything to me. Then, when they said I was ready to leave, I asked if they checked the tires. The answer was no. They also never checked the lights and blinkers like they usually do. I let that slide. I didn't trust them anyway. After leaving the facility on Hwy 55 in Plymouth, I noticed the check engine light came on. After doing some research, I found that it could be due to overfilling with oil. I checked the oil and, sure enough, it was 1.5 quarts high. I took the truck back to the facility and got in line. Called the place from the line and asked for the manager. I was told he was too busy. Then walked up to talk to him and once again told, he was too busy. I waited an hour and 15 minutes to finally get in the building. While waiting, I called the corporate office to let them know what I was experiencing. They called the manager and told him I was waiting for the situation to be corrected. When I got in the service bay, they checked the oil and found it way too high. They drained out the extra oil and told me to leave. The manager never even tried to discuss any of this with me. Not a word. No apology. Nothing. It's ridiculously expensive to use the type of service that VIOC provides. And there's no "service" or accountability in any of this. My recommendation; steer clear of these places. Take the time to make an appointment at a reputable service station or dealer. You will be treated well, and you will have trained technicians working on your vehicle. It'll cost less too. Win-win situation.
