The manager should be fired. Old white guy with a white beard and rude look. I just came for an oil change. He took my car in told me to get comfortable and take a seat. Not even 5 mins later he comes in and tells me in his own words "your car is shit" and went on with 7 other things that was "wrong with my car" and wrote me a quote for almost $2000 and charged me almost $150 for my oil change. Receipt said he charged me 35 for windshield wiper fluid but it still was none in there. I quickly left took it to my mechanic he said the only thing he was right about was my tires are losing tread but they are still decent tires lol other than that my car is good it only has 39K miles on it lol. He also filled my windshield wiper fluid lol. So yeah will never go there again! read more

Do great service on the oil change, but then they review the car and let u know about other problems. Nothing wrong with that except they give u the worst possible advice about what can happen. For instance I had a tire they felt was bad, and they told me there could be a blowout. I am from Chicago and drove back to my mechanic and he said the tire was ok. Then went back and they said my front axle could break, it would be quite a mess on the Dan Ryan. Told my mechanic about it and he said he never of it. Might be a good place to go if they had more knowledgeable people on staff. I will never be back. read more

I have been coming here for years for two basic reasons. The first being it's really close to home. The second reason is the consistent and friendly service which is the most important. My vehicle is always serviced quickly and thoroughly. I appreciate the workers going over all of my options in regards to the different oil changes that they offer and the difference in benefits of each one of them. They also recommend different services and explain why they are recommending them to me. I never feel pressured if I decline a certain service or oil change. The workers seem genuinely friendly and are always pleasant when addressing you. Added bonuses are the car vacuuming, the window cleaning, and the free top off services. I was in here a few weeks ago to have my Oil changed and they told me that I needed a new serpentine belt and that they could change it for $120 so I said yes so the goober that works in the back the oldest guy there is apparently loosened her try to take my belt off before they realize they didn't have parts for it so I didn't end up getting it changed. And now for weeks my belt squeaks because he didn't tighten it up. If you think about going to this Jiffy Lube I suggest you change your mind to go to Michigan city Joffy Lube or to duke of oil in Valparaiso instead they are a much better operation thanChesterton one. The first time I took one of my vehicles in here, I took a newer car that belongs to me. Shortly after I left, the "check engine" light came on. I gave the place the benefit of the doubt and took the car to my mechanic to get checked out. The second time, I took an old Volvo in that I had bought for my teenege daughter. Again, shortly I left, the check engine light came on. I took the car back right away. Dicky admitted that theguys had left a cap loose and put it on properly while I waited inside with a room full of other customers. Whenhe came back in, he told me that he could not get the check engine light to reset because he didn't have the proper tool. He told me that what I should do is go to Schererville and have the check engine light reset. I expressed to him that I didn't like that idea because it was not me who caused this light to come on, and furthermore, I just payed him $45 to change my oil, not cause me to have to drive out to Schererville with a 15 year old car and explain to them the reason why I wanted them to reset my check engine light. He went outside, and I followed. He basically dropped the nice-guy, used car salesman schtick he has going all the time and told me he didn't care what I did with my old, foreign car. So basically, if you have a new, domestic car, you get decent service. If you have an old, foreign car, you get attitude. And either way, your check engine light may come on. Good luck! read more

It was 6pm and we were set to leave on a camping trip when my wife tells me we've lost the brakes on our van. Of course the show must go on, so I called and got an early AM appointment. Took it in and was impressed with how quick they were able to get the vehicle in and out. We ended up leaving on our trip bright and early and had a great time. Josh and his team are excellent at what they do. Thorough explanations are always given and customer service was excellent. My wife took her car here for an oil change. The technicians told her she had 8 bulbs out on the car. ( including brake lights and many others.) She told them I would take care of it and to please just change the oil. When I got home that night, I checked every bulb on the car and not a single one was out. They also insisted she get a radiator flush. Well, I changed the intake about 10,000 miles ago, and drained and flushed the radiator system at that time. When I went back the next day to ask why they were making up repairs that my wife didn't need, I talked to the general manager of the facility. He asked for the inspection slip, and I told him they took it back when she refused the work. He looked me in the eye, shook my hand, and assured me he would get to the bottom of it. That was five days ago. No phone call or follow up of any kind. I live 30 seconds from this establishment and we have used them before. Needless to say they will never get another penny of my money. Dishonest techs, a clear attempt to hide said dishonesty, and zero follow up to a customer who was extremely upset. Had she let them do it she would have spent approximately $180 on nothing.
