Was a little wary to go here for an oil change for my car because I checked Yelp first and saw some really recent and really critical and negative reviews. Still, I have a long trip tomorrow and needed an oil change immediately, and everywhere else was closed for Sunday. I was, however, pleasantly surprised by the experience. The employees were polite, respectful, and professional. Despite being very busy with many customers, they completed the oil change quickly. They asked what I wanted done to my car and did not try to talk me into anything extra. The person who was manning the office was clear and helpful on the different oil options, their prices and advantages / disadvantages. The rate they offered matched what I had found online as a reasonable rate, and the entire experience was awkwardness-free, smooth, quick, and friendly. Not a good experience. A racially motivated insinuation was made to me by the manager. "What's wrong with you people " he said. He was rude, short, and has no place in customer service. I asked him about the bill because it was higher than I thought. A $115.00 oil change with a $10.00 coupon came to $126.00. He said we have to put a new filter in too. Like I didn't know that? I will never go there again. And if the owner has any sense at all he needs to fire him asap. read more

This location is very poorly managed. One line moves twice as fast as the other so someone who got there 15 minutes after you will get serviced 30 min before you do. Many of the employees are very rude, I've been here on a few occasions and while some are very polite and helpful half will ignore you or encourage you to just get out of there so they don't have to work on your car. I took my car to Jiffy Lube Pantops' Charlottesville location for an oil change in around february 2026(it's now June 2026). When they were done, they noted on the receipt they gave me that the car had a significant oil leak, (which it had not had previously). I thought, OK, well at least i should carry extra oil in the car to top it up when necessary. I checked my oil regularly over the next two weeks, and sure enough, each time I parked my car outside my house, the next day there would be an oil stain on the tarmac underneath the car and I would have to top it up. I started catching the oil with a plastic bucket and caught significant amounts of oil...there must have been around a quart collected over a few days. I made an appointment with my regular mechanic, who informed me that the oil filter was loose, and that was where the oil was leaking out. I had him do another oil change, since which time, I have had no oil leaks, no more ugly oilstains on the road outside my house and no top ups necessary. If I could have given a no star review, I would have. Draw you own conclusions. I will not be returning to Jiffy Lube. read more

Desperate for an oil change (July 4 coming up), paid for the signature oil change. Went down the road and double checked the work. Oil all over the engine bay, on the door handles, steering wheel. Not to mention part of the service calls for a vacuum and exterior window wash-- not performed. Then the car started smoking due to oil on the exhaust manifold, will try Take 5 in Pantops. I've used this location many times and never had a problem. Unfortunately, that's not the case anymore. The last three times I've been there. It seems like they're disorganized , everything seems to be taking longer and longer and the service and quality have gone down drastically. This last trip was definitely not an exception to that. To start with they said their system had to record of my vehicle, even though it's been there multiple times, now yes that's just a minor inconvenience, but it still seems very weird that this would be the case. I was doing a basic oil change and they were only two other customers there when I arrived. So the facility had more people working than customers. Despite that it still took over an hour. Then my vehicle was finished. They pulled it out and parked it in the front and it's sat there for 10 minutes. I had to go to the desk and wait there another five minutes while the person I believe is the manager was standing in the bay, staring at her employees looking confused. Finally, someone came in to ring me up. I can understand sometimes things go a little longer than planned and you might have multiple things going on. But from a customer point of view, if their vehicle is ready it is extremely unnecessary to keep waiting. read more

Visited Jiffy Lube today for an oil change. When we arrived, we were the only vehicle in the shop. After about 10 minutes, another vehicle came in for an oil change too. What was supposed to be a 15 minute oil change became 45-55 minutes at which time the manager told us we needed to have patience. The other vehicle was completed before our vehicle was. The staff were incredibly rude and very unprofessional. The mechanic did not know how to remove the skid plate. On the service checklist part of the invoice, the skid plate was marked N/A. Also in the service checklist, the reset maintenance light was marked completed. However, the maintenance light was not correctly reset and was completed by ourselves at our next stop. They made me feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. If you value good customer service, I would recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

Went in for an oil change, $165 later I got an oil change, tires (supposedly rotated) and 2 "recommended filters" to the turn of $70. What they neglected to tell me or suggest is that the battery cables were corroded to the point that my car may have not started. A maintenance associate at my job informed me the next day when I asked him to check my wiper fluid because it was acting like it was low, it wasn't topped off when the oil change was performed. It is saddening that they could recommend and replace filters that were under the car but couldn't see or tell me about something as serious as corroded battery cables that could have potentially left me stranded. I highly doubt a dirty filter would have had such dire consequences, but cleaning battery cables clearly isn't as profitable as replacing $70 filters! read more

So when I arrived they immediately greeted me! The young lady, Shanté was wearing masks and definitely was polite and kept a 6 foot distance which I very much appreciate it. Shanté (not sure if I spelled her name correctly) was extremely knowledgeable and she also remembered me from my previous visit!! Everything that she told me about my car was spot on. A lot of places are just pushing you into getting more products/services to adsure you have to pay more, but it's not necessarily something you need. Both Shanté and another employee,named Sam, who is equally polite and knowledgeable, did not do this.... they only recommended things that were necessary and beneficial to my particular car, and my cars needs. I felt like Sam took the time to show me my air cabin filter and my other filter that were in bad shape and needed to be replaced. He explained all my options and I am very satisfied with all the recommendations Sam came up with. Shante knew the exact air pressure right away from looking at my car and what my tires needed! I was really impressed with her knowledge. She was quick to explain the different oils and why I needed the kind that I got. Not only did she help with all of that but she also found me a coupon that would help me with my payment at the end. I've been to this location twice now, and both times the staff has been friendly, respectful and quick. I never feel like I'm getting sold something I don't need. They gave me a recommendation as to where I could find a new cap for my car, since they don't carry the one I need, and let me know that they could put it on for me if I purchased it elsewhere. I've never been to a Jiffy Lube before and am a regular mechanic visitor through and through, but in preparing for holiday travel, I needed a quick oil change so I went to the Jiffy Lube near me, since I knew it would be fast and I wouldn't need an appointment. That's where the good things ended. I mentioned that I also needed to have my tires rotated, but I could not find the wheel lock usually necessary for any mechanic to remove the wheels. I asked if they had one, and they said no. They also said it would be "no problem" and that they could do it without the wheel lock. I was skeptical, so I sat in the waiting area and watched my car go up in the air, watched one guy try to wiggle my wheel off after loosening the nuts, but he could not get it off. He tightened all of the lug nuts and tried another wheel. Again, it didn't work. They lowered my car, finished up, and when I went to pay, the tire rotation was still part of my charge. I told the woman at the desk that I watched them and saw they did not rotate the tires and so she went to check with the "mechanics" who worked on my car. She came back and told me that the mechanics said they rotated the tires no problem. I again told her I watched pretty closely and did not see any tires removed, much less rotated. She was obviously embarrassed, removed the rotation charge, and gave me an additional $2 off, on top of the $8 coupon that I was already planning to use. It was such a bummer that these folks lied to me, even after I'd said I was watching and did not see them perform the service. They were friendly enough in trying to recover my faith, but still...yikes. I immediately got on the phone with my mechanic who suggested I bring my car in for a torque check to make sure my wheels were on properly and to make sure they did no damage while trying. I'll do that soon, upset that I have to make another stop during such a busy time, and hopefully no further damage will be done. Save yourself the trouble and schedule regular service appointments for your car. This one still cost me $63 despite the headache, which I could easily spend somewhere else I trust. read more

Today was completely different trying to sell me oil cleaners, brake fluid cleaners, told I HAD to put synthetic oil in my 2015 Pilot which is more costly, both filters, blah blah blah. Felt like I was being taken advantage of because I am female. I miss the female manAger. I just want a place where you go in they change the oil (that you want in your car) and not try to sell you a bunch of stuff. Doubt I will be back. I can't believe this oil change! We were told a half hour - which a lot for an oil change but we were willing to wait. We were there for over an hour - no apology, no offer to compensate us for our time. The entire time four mechanics stood around the center of the garage discussing something and not working on the cars. I will never ever be coming back to this garage. read more

Took my car for an oil change and when I drove away the motor blew due to no oil in the car. They refused to take responsibility and fix their mistake of not putting oil back in my car. Now having to go through a court process and am out of a car to be able to take car of my kids as I'm a single mom. They even agreed that my car had oil when I arrived and in order for my motor to blow up the way it did I drove it away with no oil in it and still refuse to fix what they broke. I had got an oil change and less than 24 hours later my car overheats on the highway because of the empty coolant container . jiffy lube noted on my invoice that my coolant was completely full but that was not true . I called to speak to the manager Kenny about this and he hung up on me . insisted that my coolant was full and I was lying about me and my 8 year old son being out of coolant on the side of the road . There was no report of and leaking of coolant either so there would be no way my coolant emptied in less than 24 hours . Anyway I paid 20 dollars filled my coolant up and haven't had a problem since . they also did not put a sticker in my vehicle for the mileage and next service day . What a joke ! read more

Do NOT go to Jiffy Lube for your annual state inspection. I arrived at nine a.m. (one hour after opening) and learned there would be a few people in front of me. Fine. I am also told the inspection would take 45-60 minutes PER CAR. First red flag raised -- state inspection ON AVERAGE take about fifteen minutes. Why are they saying they take 3-4x as long here? I saw I was fourth in line on the sign-in form so I decided to wait it out. Two and a half hours later without any movement, I decide to leave. I called the store at 2pm -- no, they haven't inspected my car yet, try again at 3:30. I let 3:30 pass by without remark, no phone calls, no updates. I call them at 5:15 and learn they are JUST NOW in the process of inspecting my car. It takes me about half an hour to get through rush hour traffic to the store, and I finally check out at 5:47 p.m. with no issues to repair on my car. What really bothers me is that another car pulled in at the same time as I did. The driver says he is there for an oil change, and is directed to immediately pull up to the garage for service. During my two and a half hours in the waiting room, I watched numerous people come and go. I can only think of one reason why it took this store the better part of NINE HOURS to do my state inspection (hint: the uniform cost of an inspection is $16). I have nothing negative to say about the employees at this location -- everyone I spoke to was professional and friendly. I very much doubt it is their personal policy to downgrade customers to the bottom of the queue simply because all I needed was an inexpensive state inspection. read more

Sitting here watching the state vehicle inspector show up late, yell and curse about parts (and the staff in general), take breaks not even 90 mins into the shift (had he gotten here on time), and I'm not entirely sure he's sober. Alcohol is great, but not while doing safety inspections. I'd leave to go somewhere else, but I got here an hour before open, and still had three cars in front. (Holding this review until after my inspection) Ok, so inspection is done. Dude said he would provide an estimate for needed repairs- never happened (and yes, I asked). I really wish zero stars was an option. My friend just took her car in for a simple oil change about 2 weeks ago, but when she drove home the engine started knocking. She took it back to get them to check it over, they filled it with oil (which seems strange since they just changed it), and she left. The car was still knocking until it would no longer start, to which an actual mechanic told her the engine was blown. The employees at Jiffy Lube had forgotten to fill the oil up after they changed it the first time, so when they actually ended up filling it the damage had already been done, and as a result, her engine was completely shot. After finally getting in touch with the franchise owner, he claimed they would go over the video tapes (which they refused to let her see) and see if they did anything wrong, to which surprise surprise they claim they are innocent of any wrongdoing in the matter and are refusing to fix their blatant negligence. They admitted her car "had oil in it when she arrived", and told her "she must have driven away without any, so that is why her engine blew"...ya think?!?! But they are too stupid to realize what they are saying in that statement, because obviously you are guilty of blowing her engine and should be responsible for replacing it!!! read more
