They do not understand color. Please save your money and go somewhere for professional color…read moreservices. I went in asking for a specific balayage in cool tones for my brown hair and walked out with.. red hair and possibly some highlights (after paying $200 too!) The colorist, Jordana, made excuses of course but wow, terrible job. I like to think that I am low maintenance and rarely leave reviews but this is a terrible place. Expensive and terrible. Do not spend any time or money here. UPDATE: Owner called and refused to refund for services. She made excuses for the colorist and claimed I was told what to expect. I was not told I would walk out without a balayage and with red hair. I truly believe that if another method (foils, etc.) was the way to obtain my desired look, I should have been informed as I am not the hair expert. Very disappointing. SECOND UPDATE: Owner keeps updating his comments to my review and is now lying about what the stylist allegedly said. DO NOT VISIT AVANT GARDE. The photo of the end result that I posted says it all. No salon would take your money for an"balayage" and leave your hair like this. I was NEVER told I would have "red undertones" and when I was offered a glaze, I was not told I would have red hair unless I got a glaze. In fact, Jordan's stated that the toner should do the job and I could always come back a few weeks later for a glaze. INCREDIBLE!

Justin came highly recommended by a beautiful brunette friend, but sadly this was a very…read moredisappointing experience. I went in blonde and left with dull, muddy, pink-toned hair after a keratin treatment and gloss. When I raised concerns in the salon, I was told it was just the lighting and that the redness was my skin, not my hair. once I arrived home and looked in the mirror I saw that my gut feeling was right and that simply wasn't true. I contacted the salon with photos taken on the same day (before washing my hair at all), and then a few days after a wash yet was blamed for "products used at home," despite photos proving otherwise and only using shampoo without sulfates. The gloss they had put in was clearly over-processed, and the keratin compromised the quality of my hair. I asked for a refund or resolution and was refused a refund outright. Accountability was lacking, and the issue was deflected back onto me which I found very unprofessional. If you're a brunette you may be fine, but blondes should proceed with caution.

I walked passed the salon at first and debated whether or not I should get a haircut before an…read moreimportant day tomorrow. So I read some yelp reviews and headed on inside. I was greeted by a woman who began setting me up, but then left the process to another woman. I was a bit confused, but the process was finished and I was led to the chair by Joann. We talked briefly about what I wanted: fresh, clean, preserving my current style, and a maximum of 1.5 inches off. Afterward she led me to have my hair washed. Throughout the entire process she explained which products she was using and why. I thought it was helpful in case I wanted to try to maintain this current look. Since I wanted all the same length, the cut itself was very quick. She framed my face and added styling products for the blow dry. The end result was fantastic! She met my needs and did a great job with the blow dry. I'm sure since my hair is straight and resistant to curl that this blow out won't last long, but I'm super happy with the result! The price was a bit more expensive than a typical mid range shop, but very worth it for the results! Update: I never knew blow dries were that deceiving! Never had a complimentary blowout with the cut before. I know my hair is fine, but I now have a full crown of baby hairs due to breakage most likely from the roughness and pulling from the process...it's so bad I think I might have to get bangs...it looks so wispy and awkward. Anyway I asked to preserve the same style I had before, after I washed out the blowout I almost cried. The ends are blunt, choppy, and uneven. I asked her to make look neat and have a nice shape...which it already did, just some split ends and you might as well as put my hair in a pony tail + cut and it would have turned out the same way. I'm going to call them tomorrow for a revision and change my review based on that.
