So much for convenience, right? Just another fun adulting task to add to the list! I found Terra Nova, which specializes in both, and that's all they do. You sign up on their website and they come out twice a year to turn your system off and drain it, turn it back on in the spring and check the backflow. They're one of EWEB's certified contractors, so they send the test results directly to EWEB. I signed up and they fit me in for the winterizing the same week. The cost seemed reasonable when you sign up for their ongoing service. So far, very pleased. One task checked off the list.

This business needs to provide a way for customers to see where the worker is in real time. I…read morerealize there was an emergency with one of the workers having to be out of the country but I had to wait at home for almost two entire work days so I could be here when the worker arrived for this service. I tried calling three times but couldn't leave a message and there was no outgoing message to tell the customer what was going on. Additionally, I had previously been told the leak in my pressure regulator would be fixed at the same time. Now I have to wait for another appointment to fix the original problem.

(A dog had apparently gotten into the wiring and chewed it up). I called around to a few different businesses, but their availability was pushed pretty far out. Then I called Emerald Valley Backflow and spoke with Aaron. He seemed nice on the phone, and was able to schedule me for the same week. I called on a Tuesday and he scheduled me for Thursday morning at 10am. WELL- at 9:22am on Thursday he texted me and said he couldn't make it and needed to reschedule for Monday. We rescheduled for Monday at 4pm. At 2:43pm on Monday, he texted AGAIN saying he couldn't make it due to a "de" appointment. (Maybe he meant dentist?) I told him that I really needed this job done, and asked if he could come by any time that evening after his appointment (since it's practically summer and stays light out pretty late). He declined, and stated his availability for the coming week (which, did not work with my schedule at all). Making an appointment with a client TWICE and ditching out LAST minute BOTH TIMES is so unprofessional! If you need a job done, DO NOT call Emerald Valley Backflow.

I don't know about you but this has NEVER been my experience with contractors... did a beautiful job and I had to contact him to pay him!!! :).
