Horrible policy. If you don't return within the first three days of the purchase you can not return or exchange. And no returns in general.

Old-school business is hard to find, but it's been found here at Goodman and Sons…read more We've been in several times, conducting business with Rebecca, who is classy yet down-to-earth and treats us with sincere respect. My appraisal was conducted with true care for each piece. My items were cleaned, inspected, repaired (she saved the day on one item specifically), and an extensive, detailed appraisal was performed. The staff is truly wonderful. While in, she has tried on one or two pieces, handled most professionally. The store is well-lighted, scrupulously clean, and not overwhelming, allowing for ease of viewing the displays. I highly recommend Goodman and Sons to those who miss the face-to-face care, genuine business, valued as a customer and true professionalism from start to finish. We look forward to our continued relationship with Rebecca and the wonderful folks at Goodman and Sons. We will see them again after the holidays.

Rebecca Holberg walked me through the appraisal process of an inherited piece of jewelry. She talked about her love for her craft, explained every detail of what we were looking at from sizing, to cut, to inclusions- with great enthusiasm. She allowed me to look through the tools of her trade to see my jewelry and what made it special under a black light. It was all very exciting! I left with a plethora of new knowledge about gems also with feeling as if I had just had brunch with a long lost friend. 10 stars! Thank you, Rebeca!

About once a year, I stop by just to browse, and the staff is always helpful and pleasant. Christina worked with my husband to design a stunning pink pearl pendant after they discovered the styles I love. It turned out gorgeous--exactly what I wanted!

I was very disappointed with the service and the product that I received at Hauser's. My girlfriend…read moreand I stopped in a number of times to look at engagement rings. They had a very small inventory of rings, but assured us that their specialty was custom work, and that they could do anything we wanted. So we went online and found some ideas that we liked and brought them in to discuss. It took several weeks to get them to come up with something. There was always an excuse: "We have a special function coming up" or "The girl who does that isn't in much" or "I'll be off next week." But eventually, we got a sketch of one of the designs that had interested us, and it was enough to move forward with. By that point, our timeline was a little compressed, but they assured us that they could make something happen. They quoted us $4,000 for the ring. We agreed, and paid them the portion for the diamond up front as they requested. When we got the CAD image back from them, there were large and important differences between what was in the sketch and what the CAD image looked like. So we asked them to fix the differences, which they assured us they would. They sent a second CAD image that was much closer to what we wanted than what they first gave us. When the ring arrived, it was not what we had agreed on. The ring lacked the gold features that we had asked for, and was pretty much the first CAD drawing that we had rejected. They tried to convince us that "It's a really beautiful ring", and "it's pretty close" to what we had agreed on, when it was clearly different. The side stones were a different shade than we had agreed to, and the bypass features that we had stressed were important were only visible if you viewed the ring from a low angle - almost under the ring. Even more insulting, when it was time to check out, they insisted that the diamond wasn't included in the price that they had quoted us for the ring, and that it would be an additional almost $1,000. It was the first time that they had said that the diamond wasn't included in the price of the ring that they quoted. I was fed up and told them that I wanted a full refund. They tried to charge me a "re-stocking charge", but ended up relenting. Diamond and engagement ring shopping doesn't have to be this painful. There are jewelers out there that have a good inventory so they can help you visualize in person what you would like. Who can play a meaningful role in helping you with the design process. Who can show you multiple different options for diamonds, side stones, and ring settings to help you make your decisions. Hauser's was unable to meaningfully do any of that for us. And who will not try and lock you in with buying the diamond first before you can see any design ideas for the ring. And then will not try and change the price in the endgame because they know that they've got you over a barrel. Go to one of them, and avoid Hauser's.
