They gave us 3 choices: 1) full refund, 2) could depart the next day once the new part arrived and was installed, or 3) they offered us a more expensive (44% more!) jet for our planned itin. Given that we couldn't delay or cancel our trip, they kinda had us "over a barrel" and we had to shell out a ton more money to make this trip happen. Would I use them again? Yes. Just be read the fine print and make sure you have a back-up plan in case you find yourself in a similar situation.

We have used other private jet memberships regularly before and never experienced anything so ridiculous or horrendous. Monarch didn't realize there was no plane until we were already at the airport. We didn't manage to fly out until 6 hours AFTER our initial departure time. Then they sent us a plane with no operating oven so basically no meal for the kids. The plane also had some kind of mechanical issue (APU not working) that was never resolved. Completely unacceptable and even subpar to the commercial experience. Please stay far far away from this company if you need anything mildly reliable.

We bought…read moreour trip the day before when weather unexpectedly cancelled our trip home from the Caribbean. It was so easy to book online and we found a coupon that made the trip 15% cheaper. It turns out it was cheaper than the ferry - which we didn't realize was down for maintenance anyway (Plus I get sea sick so sea plane was much preferred by me) The check in process was so easy peasy and they had such a nice area where we waited for our flight. We didn't have to get there very early like you need to when you fly commercial. They took our luggage and weighed it and then they loaded us all up in the sea plane. We had 2 pilots and 4 passengers on the flight and the flight was about 25 min. I'm not gonna lie I was nervous as we went down the runway in the tiny plane - but once we were up in the air it was sooo cool to fly under the clouds. And landing on the water was was of the coolest thing ever. Maybe only second to taking off on the water runway. Overall it was such an amazing experience and when I go back to Bimini (which I plan to do) I will take the Tropic Ocean Airways.

I've waited 6 months to write this review, mainly because I do not like to write negative reviews…read more But I feel compelled to write it because it started our vacation off in a very stressful manner. I wanted to hire a service to pick us up from the airport because we had never been to Fort Lauderdale and were not familiar with the area. We landed and after getting our luggage, I immediately contacted the driver. Only then was I told that our driver would not be meeting us in the baggage claim area, which is what I specifically requested. Looking back at our emails, I missed where the pickup was pointed out in the email, it's my fault that I didn't understand we would not be met in the baggage claim area, so that's on me. But I should have addressed it before our trip. I spoke with the driver, who had a very heavy accent and I had a lot of difficulty understanding him, which he sounded very annoyed about. He told us he could not pick us up in front of the arrival area and we had to go to the right at the end of the terminal. All we saw at the end of the terminal was an unlit area. This is exactly what I wanted to avoid. The pickup area had very little light. But we proceeded forward, picked a spot and I called the driver again. When he showed up and saw my mobility scooter, it seemed to make him very mad. I had specifically requested a van, just to accommodate our luggage and my scooter, and I had communicated to Jiffy Jeff I had a scooter. He was very rude and irritated and kept saying it was not going to fit (keep in mind, it was a VAN). It took me several minutes to explain that we could take the scooter apart to get it in the van. Finally, after I started disassembling my scooter, and he begrudgingly help load the parts in the van. As two women, I did not like getting into a van with a man who was visibly angry, but we did. My sister and I were very uncomfortable. On the drive, I tried asking him questions about the area, for example, "is that downtown Fort Lauderdale?" And he said "That's not where we're going." I said, "I understand, but I just want to know if that is downtown." Again he snapped at me saying "that's not where we're going." We spent $160 (including the $30 tip we we begrudgingly gave him) to go from Fort Lauderdale Airport to the Hilton by the cruise port, which is 4 miles and about a 15 minute drive. It was NOT worth it. Needless to say, I will NOT be using this company again and will just take an Uber XL.
