I had to prepare for a month-long sojourn in Greece and Malta and needed some extra stuff to get myself ready. I already have a backpack (which has lasted me 15 years no problem), packing cubes, adapters, travel towel and waterproof phone case, traveling clothesline, travel pillow and watched every YouTube video on safety and security hacks for traveling alone in Greece and Malta. Every travel blog I came across said that having a portable safe is a MUST so I had to go get one. Compared prices online and on eBay and saw that they were selling them here at a decent price. Called them up and they set one aside for me. When I came to the store, I picked it up but it also gave me a chance to check out their other stuff. Some of the prices are reasonable but some were a little steep. I always get the make and model of something I really need and check on eBay or Kijiji and you'd be surprised how you can save money sometimes by checking some online sources first. Still for those travel essentials, Jet-Setter has a very wide selection and the sales associates were nice and friendly. P.S if you need to rent a car while overseas, you need to get your International Drivers License. They don't have them here but you can get that over at the CAA office downtown. read more

This is a place to buy luggage. They have a great selection of luggage but very pricey.

The worse customer service ! If you buy high end luggage from them and you have a problem....good luck! Customer loyalty and experience means nothing to them. Avoid shopping there at all costs! As a true believer in quality and brand I have never had a more negative after purchase experience anywhere! And after months of simply trying to get my damaged case repaired they still felt comfortable charging me $133 for the repair. Beware of Jetsetters they are unethical. read more

Location: In the Mile End, on Laurier O. The easiest way to get there is to drive - metered parking is available outside the store. If you're using transit, I think the closest subway stop is Laurier, and it's about 10-minutes away on foot. The place: These guys cater to travelers and offer about 3000 different products available (according to the clerk I spoke to). You can find anything from luggage (standard suitcases, rolling backpacks, duffels - you name it), day bags, money belts, locks, Tide (yes, travel Tide! I love it!) and so on. Jet-Setter offers more selection than Bentley and the more commercial bag stores so it's unlikely that you won't find what you're looking for. The people: The manager was 10-15 minutes late arriving at the store, so I found myself waiting outside with a few clients as well as the staff. Call me crazy but there are these locksmith stores where you can make copies of your key - how about trying that so that your staff can open up when you're running late? Personally, I wasn't that bothered by it, but the fellow next to me expressed his displeasure and felt that this was somewhat unprofessional. I can't say that I disagree. In any case, when the store finally opened, I was helped by Wesley, who was nothing short of awesome. Super friendly, great sense of humor and knowledgeable about the products sold in-store. He helped me decide on a bag (though truth be told, I already knew what I wanted before I got there). let me try it on (rolling backpack) and even added weights to it so that I could see what it would feel like when it was full. He also set my code to the TSA lock that I bought so that I didn't have to worry about it before leaving the store. Bonus: you have a week to try out the bag to see if it works for you. As long as you don't actually use it, wheel it around etc., you can bring it back for a refund within 7 days of purchase. What else? They have a web site so you can order online if you know exactly what you want, and they offer free shipping if you spend a minimum of $70. Cons: Luggage can be pretty expensive, though I guess that's to be expected. Also, I personally found the manager to be unfriendly and a tad grumpy. No greeting when she arrived late, and not one smile while I was in the store. That could use a little work. read more

Like others who have posted on Yelp about this store, A) range is good - but pricey B) website looks good but isn't as searchable as an online site ought to be (1000+ product lines) C) a senior guy interfered in our young, new sales person's very helpful & accurate service and then proceeded to 'educate' her (in English) on the way she should handle customers (not us, an earlier customer). That he should do this loudly, or loud enough that I & at least one other customer in the store couldn't help but hear how 'our' presence in-store was important to their bottom line. Which it is of course, just 'tacky' to hear Sales closing-technique being foisted upon someone who'd just done a very good job, from a customers point of view. D) they didn't seem to care that I'd sent a request (via Yelp) for info a few hours earlier. We'll see if anything does arrive in the next day or so...! I doubt it. E) English was spoken to me without any subtle negative evaluations. We got what we needed (international multi-power adaptor with dual USB outlets) and there didn't seem to be anywhere else in Montreal where we could (easily) find same. Could do better in dealing with customers. After deciding on an online purchase based on a sale price, I was surprised when the price in the "cart" was $10.00 more than the sale price shown online. There was no one available to speak to on the weekend, so I made the purchase anyhow (because it was also a no-tax weekend), and left a message on their voicemail regarding the price difference. After not hearing back from anyone (I left my phone number), I phoned to find out about having the sale price honoured. I was told that it was a "website glitch" and they couldn't honour the price because they wouldn't make a profit from it. Well, that's not my problem. As a customer, it's not my responsibility to be aware of what your mark-up is. If a sale price is advertised, even incorrectly, it should be honoured. Then the website manager did not "want to bother" connecting me with the owner (probably because he'd get in crap) and sighed loudly while telling me he'd refund the $20. So sorry to be holding you accountable for your business. read more

It's not often that I write reviews regarding my on-line shopping experiences, however, I was so impressed with my recent experience with Jet-Setter that I had to. I ordered a few items on-line and was very happy with the selection and layout of the website. Furthermore, when I called to confirm the delivery date of my purchase (as I was concerned it might not arrive prior to my travel date), the representative I spoke with on the phone was extremely friendly, professional and helpful. I received my purchases exactly when the representative had assured me I would.
