What a clean, top notch store and there's a coffee bar in the back. I was greeted by "Tom", one of the 3 brother owned record store & coffee bar. The amount of flavors offered is unreal, the coffee blend is fantastic. Just ask for whatever you want to drink and it will be totally satisfying. He drew me in by playing Led Zeppelin outside while we were walking by. We had to go in and glory in the vinyl version of songs I have played over and over on CD. This is not a store I typically go into, so it's hard to review, but the albums were in little padded containers and plastic so I think they were well protected. The prices seem a bit steep, but again, maybe $38 for vinyl is typical like my boyfriend said. There was a little coffee store in the back. The employee was chatting with two guys in the front but he acknowledged us and my gut instinct was that he would be a fountain of knowledge! read more

Been wanting to check out Jet Age Records for some time now, and I finally made the trek out to Newport to check it out on a random weekday morning. There was plenty of street parking, both metered and free, up and down the street Jet Age is on. I can imagine it getting a bit tricky when the area is a bit busier..but I had no problem finding a free spot a block up from the place the day I visited. Their selection of vinyl is pretty impressive. Maybe not "Shake It" level vast, but they definitely had a lot of variety for both new and used records. I was able to find a couple really good albums that I had been looking for for a bit for pretty reasonable prices. They have a coffee shop in the back of the store as well..which is nice and convenient for coffee lovers/addicts. I didn't have any the morning I was there so I can't speak for it. So yeah, definitely a cool little record place in Newport with a good selection and decent prices. Will for sure be back in the future. read more

My boyfriend and I was looking for a vinyl shop in the Newport/Covington area and he found Jet Age Records on Google with awesome reviews. So we definately wanted to check this place out. I'm so glad that we did! What I love about Jet Age is that it's open and spacious. The records are categorized and organized. So easy to go through! The shelves are not so packed, dusty, and cluttered that you are overwhelmed. Nice selection of different genres onsite. We scored $50.00 worth of old school vinyls. From rock, jazz to R&B/Soul. I was pleased with the pricing. Very reasonable! Besides vinyls, they do sell music art work, a tiny section of CDs, cassettes, vinyl covers/sleeves/cleaners, rarities and there is a coffee shop located in the back. What a great experience and can't wait to go back! Highly recommend giving them a chance and visit. read more

This is one of my favorite record stores in the Cincinnati area and they have great prices (compared to some of the more popular stores in the area.) The owners are super awesome guys and are always more than happy to help. I would also rate this store as probably the cleanest in Cincinnati, which is a big deal since so many of the record stores give the old and dingy vibe. It is very nice to have such a clean record store with such a great selection. The store has recently acquired the 45 collection from the old C&D store that closed down, so now Jet Age is even better because in addition to their great collection of LPs, their 45s are also unbeatable. There is a coffee shop in the back of the store, while I have never tried it always smells like a fresh cup of coffee which is a draw for me. Give this place a shot, you won't regret it! read more

Visited for the first time, and had my boys (14 & 11) with me. They're both respectful and cautious with vinyl, but I half-expected a sideways glance for letting my youngest, at least, browse on his own. Instead, the gentleman behind the counter greeted us enthusiastically, offered his help if needed, then went back to what he was doing. We walked up to the counter to check out with more than we needed (also, not enough), we found that the man who greeted us on the way in was one of the owners. He engaged both the kids and me in conversation, explaining Record Shop Day and extending an invite for that. It was a great "take care of the customer and make them feel appreciated," experience. There was a great selection of used LP's, and a smaller, but respectable, selection of new material. The shop was clean and spacious, and the inventory was well-organized. My 11-year-old got the Queen album and 45 that he was looking for, and my 14-year-old picked up Chicago and Eminem. Seeing them excited, as I always was, about the small record store and going home to listen to their treasures, made the trip a success. The way we were treated made the trip stand out. They have got a great thing going here. We will be back. Frequently! read more

What a great addition to the business district along Monmouth Street. My husband and I came in to try some coffee and browse the selection. The space is very open with organized cabinets along the sides of the shop and the walls decorated with awesome concert posters. The vinyl offers a nice selection of different genres and the prices looked pretty fair too. The coffee bar is located in the back with four retro 1950s style tables and chairs to sit and relax while you sip. Mike, the owner, laughed and said "no fancy latte art" and we responded with "it's abstract". So don't expect the same fancy service you get from a legit coffee shop but you will get good coffee regardless. This place is a true gem and everyone should check it out. read more

Discovered this little gem in a random Google search while wanting to hunt for some new vinyls and I'm definitely glad it popped up. They have a fantastic selection of great records from every genre you want. I walked in and couldn't wait to see everything they had in store. The store itself is VERY clean and not cluttered like some other record shops I've been to. Vintage posters and concert artwork line the walls and are also for sale. I didn't get a chance to try the coffee they had brewing there, but it did smell really, so maybe next time. I left with some great selections, all in excellent condition, ready to play 'em all when I got home. So, vinyl junkies, check this place out! You'll certainly be impressed too! read more

This is a wonderful combination of music and coffee and art and pure amazingness! The space is a mix of historic Newport architecture and modern design, I die. The smell of coffee at the end of the store lures you towards rows of neatly lined records (both old and very new), brightly unique and hard to find concert posters and even specialty framed items covering the walls. The staff are friendly and super helpful when you need guided to the correct section for your record needs! I absolutely love this space and I sincerely think I need at least one new record per week in my favorite new neighborhood joint!
