All medical staff is professional and polite, they knows exactly what needs to be done and how to accomplish it meaning how to make patients happy. They really do provide outstanding service. One star because after a few years of declining the hpv shot, my son was given the shot in "error"…read more I called the office and said that my son needed paperwork filled out for college and possibly the menegitis shot and I advised my son he might be getting the menegitis vaccine. When he arrived to the office the receptionist told the medical assistant that my son already had the meningitis shot so the only other vaccine would be the hpv. No Dr. saw him, the medical assistant did not advise what vaccine he was injecting and so my son assumed it was meningits and asked afterwards only to be told no it was the hpv shot. How does a receptionist make that decision, how does a medical assistant not say what he is injecting, how is there no note in my son's chart that I have said over and over no hpv shot and how was all of this done without a dr. seeing him. I was in the car and came into the office where no one could explain the rationale. Dr. Galanis called me later to apologize with some bogus excuse which is not an excuse bc college does not require hpv and no receptionist should be making a decision. In addition, due to mix ups in their office my daughter had to go back several times for the correct script for bloodwork etc. to get her college paperwork filled out. my daughter needed some updated records for college. Dr. Gonzalez said to my daughter today that we need to figure out which vaccines we need and brought up the hpv issue, no Dr. your office was specifically told numerous time neither of my kids were getting the hpv shot and when you receive school documents your office and you as a Dr. are supposed to review the forms, their charts and discuss what is needed and fill out the forms accurately. I was planning on switching my kids since they are now college age and now I regret not doing it sooner. I cannot recommend this practice.

My issue is with Dr. Igal Khorshidi, I went in for a consultation and the doctor was the rudest and most impatient doctors I've ever interacted with. I explained that I was a bit embarrassed about my visit and he said "you're joking right? I've heard it all" with a really smug tone, it wasn't in a friendly joking manner that would put anyone at easy, he lacked empathy which is crucial with someone who's in the medical field. The consultation lasted less than 4 minutes, which he rushed me through, he even did a circle motion with his hands as to hurry me up, I felt so uncomfortable that l couldn't tell him my reasons for the consultation. He might be a doctor and have the credentials but he is not a good person, is impatient and seems like he has a short temper. If you're desperate and think "well I got an appointment fast, this is great" don't even bother this doctor is not there to help, just collect a check.

Extremely unprofessional and ineffective communication with patients. When first scheduling an…read moreappointment with this office, I emphasized that I have 2 insurances, both a primary and secondary. I asked if the office accepts both my insurances, and they reassured me that they did via phone call. Thus, I scheduled an appointment. The appointment itself was disappointing. Firstly, the attending PA never formally introduced himself to me. He also never directly asked me what my health concerns were. He simply asked me basic medical history questions, which led me to believe he was an MA. Once I realized he was the PA, I expressed my concerns and reasons for my visit. (I also never met with Dr. Igal in either of my visits, which was never communicated.) My first visit was on a Saturday, in which I provided both my insurance cards for verification. A few days later, on a weekday, the office called me and stated that they did NOT accept my primary insurance, but rather only my secondary insurance. I expressed that this would be an issue, as my secondary insurance requires that I visit in-network offices for my primary insurance. The office insisted that because they accepted my secondary insurance, I would have no issue with my primary insurance/billing. In addition, the receptionist stated that they were NOT able to verify even my secondary insurance. They claimed that my secondary insurance appeared to be invalid. I knew this was certainly incorrect, as I was utilizing my secondary insurance in other offices. Turns out, they were entering my incorrect birth date. Then, Maria, the office manager, insisted that I come in for a follow-up appointment despite this insurance confusion. Thus, I came in for a follow-up appointment and asked to speak with Maria upon arrival. Maria and the PA both met with me. Maria insisted that my secondary insurance would cover my visits at this office, despite my primary insurance not being accepted at this office. I expressed that I did NOT believe this to be correct. Maria insisted that I would NOT receive any bill from this office. I even asked her if I could get this statement in writing, to which she replied, "I've never written a letter like that, but, believe me, if you get a bill from us, you can personally come yell at me." Well, I received a bill after all. I called the office to dispute this bill. Maria called me back, and said she was going to follow up regarding whether my secondary insurance was billed or not. She specially stated, "It seems this is a copay, but I don't believe your secondary insurance was billed. The lab is supposed to call me around 11 am tomorrow and I will confirm if they billed your secondary insurance or not." I never heard from her again. I had to email the office multiple times to even get a response. I even specifically asked the receptionist when calling regarding this matter, whether I should be contacting their office or the lab regarding this lab dispute. The receptionist told me to email their office, which I did. This entire experience has been extremely unpleasant and inconvenient. Avoid this office.

This feverish review has been a long time coming. Take the five stars and double them, then double…read morethem again for each, Dr. Camilla and Dr. Georgie -- the most particularly awesome wife/husband practice in the history of EVER! WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW... The pair of doctors are both thorough, they are very happy to answer questions (as well as their PA's) without parents feeling they are being talked down to. The practice is accommodating and when needed, will answer calls. Everyone makes children feel comfortable... which trust me makes a HUGE difference. Believe it or not, most pediatricians don't do that anymore. They really made our family feel that they had an extra special interest in our kiddo -- it was so many little things and in so many little ways. The doctors take the idea of 'family practice' and run with it. They get the gestalt of what pediatric practice used to be and has been forgotten. Here is an example, more than once Dr. Georgie has called us at home to follow up on our daughter. Ok, so you say a return call, and that has happened, but one thing was remarkable. Our daughter had a fall at her school playground and had a radial sublimation of her right elbow (nursemaid's elbow). He saw our daughter in an emergency and brought his concern, gentleness and thoughts on what to do to the table. Unfortunately, he could not do the reduction successfully (sometimes that happens -- zero fault to any practitioner who can't in those circumstances). He said it would likely resolve itself whilst our daughter slept (as is common). I didn't ask him to call to follow up, later that evening, he did it on his own volition, he really wanted to know how she was. He also reached out to the former Pediatrics Chief of Department at Mount Sinai (in private practice) to see our daughter (even that doctor failed in the reduction) but by the following day, all was well. Those actions have set the bar impossibly high for other practitioners. Now to Dr. Camilla, I may be touching on her second here, but we primarily saw her most often. As great as Dr. Georgie was, Dr. Camilla is first in our minds. We were referred to the practice from a friend when we came back to NYC after living abroad (and with new child in tow). Her professional wisdom set is phenomenal and she is very telegraphic in her concerns. Here is what is best, she knows how to connect to both parents individually to make sure they understand both details and the big picture. Now a word on their PA's (physician's assistants), we saw two different ones in our time there. They too displayed the same attributes as both doctors. No doubt they were selected for their temperament and skill. On those times we saw them, we didn't feel as if we were getting less quality care, it was exactly the same. And the nurses and office staff... ditto there as well. You can't top the doctors. I don't believe it possible. Had their second practice not closed due to Mount Sinai Hospital taking over their Manhattan space due to COVID-19, my daughter would still be in their care. We have moved to Westchester County... if they have an office back in Manhattan, we would bring our kiddo in (as we do for her current pediatrician (a great practice... but nowhere as good on the spectrum). I really hope this review helps parents to select a pediatric practice. I don't write many reviews, but this one is more than merited. If you live in Manhattan, consider taking the trip to Sunnyside, Queens and using urgent care if you need to for those issues that can not wait. And for both doctors, PA's, nurses and staff, we can never thank you enough (and curse you at the same time for not letting us achieve another pediatric practice anywhere close to what you have created) -- the Craig family

I appreciated his patience and time he gave me to calm down about the situation. When I was last there, pre-COVID, I noticed they replaced the dirty chairs. It seems my first review upset some people, and I never once questioned the doctors, my complaint was with the filthy office chairs (they've been replaced), and the ridiculous wait time. The PA was always lovely, but you were never told if you were seeing her or Dr when you made an appointment. I have never found the nurses or front desk staff to be rude, as another commenter said, they have always been friendly and helpful. I hope the commenter who didn't like the secretary updates their review ;)
