Worst store I had ever visited due to the rudeness of the owner. Trinkets were cheep but well presented. Don't waste your time

It is the holiday season and Christmas Lights galore! It was sooooo pretty!! They were doing an event next to the Sports Bar, for Chanukah event with food, gifts and dancing! Even the local fireman came out & a lit up robot! Very good time with family, as every business is family friendly and oriented. I wish we had more time to check out all the shops in this area, but I cannot wait to come back. Getting a park spot was super easy, walking everywhere was easy to get places, the shop employees all super friendly and nice. A great place to get find your gifts for friends or family or to buy your own souvenirs! Compared to Old Town in San Diego, I feel like everything was more reasonably priced!

When you're on a trip, the process of treasure hunting can be more special. In Oak Glen, the Apple Tree occupies a primo spot underneath Law's Coffee Shop, in the area near Oak Tree Village. We popped in to take a look on our last Oak Glen visit. I was attracted by the many colorful banners outside. There was a large selection continuing inside the front door, too. A side room had a lot of kitchen items, and another featured fabric on the bolt, ready to be cut. There's a nostalgic air to the place, even without the sewing section. My impression was that a sell off of some of the dated merchandise to make way for fresher goods might make sense. They've got location going for them, plus parking.

Little incense burning log cabins, dishes and greeting cards. Wonderful place to stop. For most of the time, the restaurant was run by Mr. Law and the shop by Theresa Law. Soon the restaurant will reopen with new owners from what I heard. Theresa wrote a recipe book that is a MUST. Her apple pie recipe is the best there is. If you want to shop and taste of California, this is the genuine article. Warmth and wonderment. Love this place. Eat at Law's coffee shop, pick up a pie and then shop at the Apple Tree Gift shop. Locally owned and run for over 60 years. Parking right out in front. Nice, wonderful people who treat you like family

You get the feeling that they're eyeballing you & all I was doing was browsing and snapping pictures for my review. I didn't buy anything, although the prices were reasonable considering the location. Reading other reviews a lot of other customers were uncomfortable as well. It seems like there are too many stores in Big Bear that obviously have that as an ongoing situation. It's too bad there's so much theft going on or so much distrust. Not sure which but I hope they resolve it. Although I was greeted with a hello, how are you?

When I went to pay, they attempted to charge more than the displayed price. When I inquired, the initial employee was going to honor the price tag. A reasonable thing to do. After seeking the manager for approval, she declined to honor the tagged price. She said the other gloves were marked with the higher price, essentially acknowledging the error in their tagging of their merchandise. Considering I don't work there and didn't price tag their merchandise, it was really confusing why that was relevant. Also, this all begs the question of how many times they do this to their patrons? Is it company policy to price an item one thing and overcharge by 33% and hope no one notices? Just honor the price tag. Not difficult. You did it, not me. I'm a paying customer, who is in town regularly enough. I hope the $5 was worth it. You clearly needed it more than me. Bums.
