PART 2 from my last review. I deleted the picture since I was able to continue my Yelp review right here. I waited for my sister outside. My sister told me a lady came out with her and Briana was telling her what happened and was clearly the frustrated one. The lady told her to go to the back right now. As I was waiting outside another customer that was in line and overheard the entire thing walked out. She looked at me and I asked her excuse me, I know you were in line and witnessed that entire thing. I asked her if I was able to ask her a question. She said yes, I asked did I say anything or was in the wrong during that entire interaction. And this random lady that I do not even know told me No it was definitely not you. She was the one who started speaking down to you and being very disrespectful. I thanked her for her honesty. I told her sometimes in situations like that how someone else might see it differently than I did. I'm sad that I had this experience, every year we come to Big Bear and stop by Brown Bear for the kids to get something to remember our trip. This just ruined the end of it. Thankfully 2 shops down the owner of Brown Bear has another one with similar things. My daughter was able to get some rocks and thankfully did not leave without something to remember this trip by.

I love walking the village when I come to big bear, this shop In particular stood out to me, I came in the other day and was welcomed by the sweetest blonde girl (I didn't catch her name but next time I come in I will) all the staff was super friendly and helpful, highly recommended this store if you're on the hunt for souvenirs clothes and kids toys

PROS: I walked right back out and didn't waste a dime here!! CONS: They watch you like a hawk here and don't let you shop comfortably! STOP WATCHING MY EVERY MOVE!!! This store is so not worth my time! Get back to work you peasants!! I'm a 1% er.. Poof be gone!!

Spacious gift store on the corner of Pine Knot and Village! A one-stop shop for all of your souvenir needs; large selection of Big Bear apparel and accessories, cabin themed decor, fun items with names on them and a section for the kids. They have a couple arcade machines to play (also for sale) and fun masks and novelty gifts.

One of the local gift shops in the Big Bear Village area. It's located in the corner of Pine Knot Ave. and Village Dr. I was just wandering around and found this brain teaser nail puzzle. Me and a friend were timing ourselves who would solve it faster. It was hard but I found out the trick to it first. They have a bunch of other souvenirs, key chains, and little nick knacks you can purchase. A cool store for cheap gifts to relatives.

This place is located in the Village of Big Bear Lake. Your typical resort town area selling gifts and souvenirs. The parking is crazy at times and often times a mix of desert trash meets yuppie elites hanging out. This is a must visit if your going to go up to Big Bear.

Cute cozy cafe Delicious pastries and goodies. Made to order coffees, teas, and -- breakfast!…read more My friend and I drove here several hours to see the famous eagles. And got hungry. This place close to the parks. It's located in an outdoor shopping street with pretty hanging flower baskets displayed among unique stores for shopping. Parking is mostly on the street - free - and the atmosphere is friendly. My friend had tea and I had latte while we waited for our breakfast order. Prices were okay. The food - delicious! Prepared right where you can see from your wooden polished tables. Unique games, card decks, and puzzles are available as well as books while you are there. It was fun to put together a small puzzle with my friend. I had an omelette type dish with avocado, tomatoes, cheese. Very yummy served with toast. My friend had a breakfast sandwich. Everyone there was friendly! The place is clean. Bathrooms big. Next time in Big Bear Lake, this is the place!

Chaotic, disorganized, and slow. Whoever designed the ordering system and layout of this place…read moresucceeded in making it as confusing and inefficient as possible! Orders must be placed through (2) digital kiosks, placed on each side of the front door, the absolutely worst location. People coming in and going out are blocked by a massive traffic jam, and nobody knows where or who is in line to order. This is worse when somebody (or a group) of people are taking too much time at the kiosk browsing through the selections. To place your order, you must provide a name and phone number to receive a number that is shown on a monitor on the wall, and a text message notification. But the order number/notification only is for drink orders, NOT food (they don't explain that anywhere along the process). The food orders are ready when they simply call out your name. Drinks, "Savory" food, and Crepes/dessert are fulfilled by (3) separate prep lines/pickup locations around the restaurant, which creates more clusters of people standing around inside. What is the point of having a digital ordering system with text notification, if you still have to wait there and listen for your name to be called? It took OVER 45 MINUTES to get our food, which was just (2) breakfast sandwiches! I would have cancelled my order, gotten a refund, and moved on to somewhere else if it was actually possible to speak to anyone about that. The food itself is not bad, but it's nothing special - obviously after waiting for so long, it had better be fresh, but there is nothing great or unique about the meal that makes up for dealing with the ridiculous ordering system and long wait! Overall, a very stressful and frustrating experience just to get some typical cafe food. And, I know sometimes places get very busy and over capacity, but that is no excuse for the bad process a customer has to go through here. You can go to an actual sit-down restaurant, get a table, get served, eat, and have an extra cup of coffee in the amount time it takes to get ANYTHING here!

It's been a while since I was last in the village. A nice little last minute getaway to help…read moresurprise a friend for a birthday getaway. The good thing about big bear, it's a couple hours from LA or Palm Springs. A small mountain retreats that does have some special gems here and there. We've been coming for years and it's always a nice little break away from the crazy traffic in the city. Depending on seasons and when you visit, the crowds do make a big difference. We popped in for an overnight stay on Sunday. And I must say, the place was lively. Restaurant open and people out and about around town. Either the families checking out after their weekend stay or taking in the last effect of the mountain. The village itself isn't too big. One main strip that's a couple blocks radius that will lead you down to the marinas waterfront's. You'll have all your tourist mom and pop shops, a few restaurants, cafe, movie theaters, candy shops, a bar and so on. There's a good amount of things to do along the strip. Just heads up, their hours (shops and cafe) seemed to be a bit off when it comes to opening. Early morning trying to find a place opened for coffee and tea was an ordeal. Certain places say they're open but when you get there, nothing. It is nice to walk the strip when no one is there but also sucks when you can't find a place for a morning pick me up...lol... Depending on the season, summer does bring in a lot of family's for the lake. Then you have winter for the mountains and skiing. Spring and autumn brings everyone as well and good with hiking. Regardless when you visit, it's alway a nice place to check out. Just in my opinion, a few days is enough...lol... There's loads of housing options available. Bigger resort chains, timeshare, Airbnb, smaller boutiques, cabins and so on. Loads of places to stay. Also, they're pretty much all not too far from the village. Ski season, I do recommend being near the slopes as it'll be easier to get to. It's a fun little weekend getaway. Mid week is slow and places do close as there's no walking traffic. A nice break from the city.

Some of the shops have their own unique spark, which I really liked. At least not every souvenir shop feels exactly the same, so there's a little more variety when you're browsing around. I also really liked that there were different themed restaurants and dessert shops throughout the area. It was nice to see those little pops of something different instead of everything feeling too similar. Another big plus is that there's plenty of parking, with lots of different parking lots around the area, so we weren't too worried about finding a spot. It was also pretty cool to see a horse-drawn carriage going down the road! It was definitely moving slowly, but it was unexpected and made for a fun little thing to watch while we were walking around.
