After some time, I decided to do a French with 2 small hearts on 2 nails. Apparently, that's considered "Complex nail art". The tech who had a mask and heavy accent told me the price in which I clearly didn't understand until I went to pay. YES, I was upset that my nails cost me $150 (no extension etc) when I went to check out! Despite me being surprised, I STILL TIPPED HER (something I regret had I known they would deny me service moving forward). What's more upsetting is that I had to CONTINUOUSLY CORRECT THE TECH (a "pro") while she was doing my nails. Why am I paying so much money and she can't make sure the white on my tips are actually covering the nails properly? Why did she leave actual gel on the sides of my cuticles? Lastly, why did I pay $150 and had BUBBLES IN MY NAIL BED? I showed the girl at the desk, and she HAPPILY TOOK MY MONEY DESPITE SEEING THE BUBBLES. Let me guess, that's all my fault too, right? You think they cared about the actual work done on my nails? HA! Yet, I'm supposed to happily fork over my money for mediocre work and accept it? You guys did me a favor by denying me service. I need to get back to you on that...] are professional and particular nail technicians who also really know how to give a firm foot & leg massage. Sure, it's a bit of a hole in the wall/basement (you need to take some rickety stairs to the lower level to get to this place). Yes, it could probably use a new paint job. I went to repair my index nail. I cut it off from the mid nail bed and had a graduation to attend the next day. I would rate the cleanliness of the salon a 3.5 out of 5 stars. On two separate visits I didn't notice in-between cleaning of the manicure tables and drying stations. They do however line the pedicure tub and use fresh water for the next customer. I have called ahead and walked in two times and received prompt and kind service. There is some pushy upselling of pricer nail services, but stick to your gut on what you want. The clean-up, shaping, and filing of my nails was thorough on each visit by separate nail technicians. I received a gel manicure the first time and it lasted four weeks without chipping, The second time I had a regular manicure and was charged an additional $5 for choosing an OPI Infinite Shine 2 10-day wear polish. Unfortunately, it started to chip on the 3rd day, so it wasn't worth it. Overall, a good place to stop in for a manicure and pedicure when in a pinch.
