My wife requested freshly brewed coffee and was served coffee that was cold and clearly not fresh. More concerning was the repeated placement of both drinks and both meals in front of me, I am a white male, rather than placing each item in front of the respective guest. This occurred twice and did not appear accidental. Hostile Service toward my wife who is black was deliberately bias, delayed, and included delayed service to bring her syrup for her waffles. Only one butter was initially provided. When additional butter was requested by me, the server returned and threw it towards my wife while glaring. She then remained at the table gently adjusting the mustard bottle for me why? further highlighting the disparity in treatment. Another male employee also glared at my wife in a hostile manner sending the message that she was being targeted and silently being told that she was not welcomed at this waffle house. Taken together, this pattern of conduct reflects bias, Racial discrimination and differential treatment we experienced as racially biased and demeaning. As a small southern town, we anticipated a higher standard from this Waffle House location. This experience was deeply disappointing, especially given our fondness for visiting Waffle House restaurants. Simple, fresh, and really satisfying. They bring the food out to wherever you're sitting, which was a nice touch and made it easy to just relax and enjoy breakfast. We now enjoy picking the food up. Great tasting "personal size" pizzas. 8.00 and you can add multiple toppings for no extra charge. Good choices of beer (once we get to eat inside again) They remodeled the interior and it's very clean and fast to. Well......my update is this. Staff is still friendly but sandwiches are NOT worth 8.00. I've had the bbq chicken grinder before, I thought it was good but I swear the bread is smaller and the amount of chicken was a small portion. My wife had a meatball grinder. Bread was burnt, badly, so whoever "cooked" it knew and basically said, I don't care. 3 smallish meatballs cut in half that tasted frozen. Won't be ordering those again. I do recommend Popeyes classic chicken sandwich though for 3.99. Yeah, not 8.00.
