Jersey Mike's is one of my favorite sandwich shops (sorry Ike's, lol). I tend to take them to the movies if we're doing luxury, because the little table makes it easier to deal with the mess. This location is convenient if I'm on my way to work, or to a movie. It's a small location so not much seating. Most people seem to do to-go anyway. Staff is friendly and efficient. I love that they give you enough points to get a free sandwich for your birthday! My go-tos are 9, 8, and Cali. Basically fancier stuff with turkey & bacon,lol. Ive been to many Jersey Mike's and this spot is pretty standard. I usually go with the Turkey and Provolone on White, 6 inch is pretty filling. What I love about Jersey Mike's compared to other sandwich spots/chains is the shredded lettuce, super thin cuts, and the "works" or Mike's way that includes the sauces and seasonings that really add more flavor. This can balance out the dryness of the bread that I sometimes run into at this location, as if they sort of over bake the bread. Located near Better Buzz Coffee and Major Market, so this location has lot parking. Frequented here twice now, usually around lunch rush, and staff are always prompt and patient. I've tried the regular Cali Club (Turkey, avocado, bacon) and the Big Kahuna (cheesesteak). The latter takes a bit more time since it's a grilled option - tried it with optional banana peppers grilled in, but actually prefer it added on fresh instead. read more

This place should not take online orders last 3 times we have ordered and ended up sitting there waiting while they help everyone in line before they make my sandwich. Today we got there they said it will be just a few minutes we sat there for 15 mins and ordered 15 mins before we got there. They just continued to help the people in line. I finally asked if they were going to make our sandwich and I was told they have 1 more minute to fulfill our order in other words they have not started making it yet. After we had been sitting there waiting. There should be one person dedicated to making online orders instead of all 5 workers helping people in line. I was in the area with a coworker, so we stopped by for a quick sandwich. There was one customer at the register and one in line ahead of me. It was obvious they were training a new kid. He was very nervous standing at the register. The amount of time it took to finally order my sandwiches was not good, but excused a little due to the training issues. I go here at least once a month but after today's experience, I will not be returning. I order 2 sandwiches through the mobile app and indicated in the app that I wanted oil and vinegar on the side for both sandwiches so that they do not get soggy on the drive home. I get home, open the sealed bag and there's no oil or vinegar. The sandwiches are disgusting and bland and taste like mush between bread - NO FLAVOR AT ALL. To make matters worse, I called the number on the receipt to complain and all it does is ring then go to voicemail. So in summary, I spent almost 23 dollars for 2 sandwiches that I can barely swallow (since they have no taste) and my hungry kids are refusing to eat them so now I am going to have to figure out what else I can feed them. What a waste. Maybe my dog will eat them. Update: 10/15/20 I woke up this morning to a reply from management on Yelp and an email from their district customer relations person. We placed this order through UberEats. It quoted 10-15 minutes at the time of placing the order. After we placed it, they said it would take 45 minutes. I called Jersey Mike's and spoke to an employee who said they had not started the order. He asked if I wanted to cancel it. I said "yes." They charged me anyway. When Uber Eats refused to refund, I called the store manager and talked to Nick. He pretty much said: "Take it up with Uber Eats." He didn't offer any resolution at all. They get one star just because they were open I usually go to the Jersey Mikes in Solana Beach where they greet you and actually seem happy to have a customer come in. This unit on Center City in Escondido is the exact opposite. No greeting, not even pleasant; in fact they appeared to not even notice me, and certainly, when they did they were not inviting in any way. I actually did my order on the app which means it is prepaid. This place was so unwelcoming that I left. I paid for the items but was so turned off by the employees in this unit that I left anyway. I give up... there's apparently no possible way to get a sandwich without them cutting it in a way I don't want it. What I would WANT is to have a sandwich cut into three pieces, but most of the times they still cut it into four pieces... so the next time I wait until they're about to cut it and they cut it in half DOWN THE MIDDLE and then they cut one of those halves into two pieces... so instead of getting three equal pieces I get one half and two quarters. WOW... what most go into the service or training of someone to think to do that? So I give up, they're clearly NOT going to cut my sandwich into thirds no matter what I do, so I ask "please don't cut it"... they STILL cut it right as they wrap it up as if saying some giant F U to the customer. So I try AGAIN and ask them not to cut it... I make a big deal about going into detail and saying I'd like to cut it myself at home into different portions and it's easier to keep it whole, they agree and even speak about it with me... ...then as they're wrapping up the sandwich they CUT IT INTO QUARTERS AGAIN. What in the everloving sandwich do I have to tell these people to get them to NOT CUT THE SANDWICH INTO QUARTERS? What is the magic word to get them to do such a difficult and impossible task? They're literally adding an extra step they don't have to do just ruin my meal. I enjoy the ingredients, but someone please tell the manager to hire people who actually listen to one simple direction from the customer... ...I'm not even asking them to do something "extra", I'm just asking them to NOT pick up the knife and cut my sandwich into tiny quarters. Stopped for a #17 Philly cheese large to split with my husband yesterday. THREE times I asked for no green peppers. I got to the car we split the sandwich and it was nothing but gooey slop with giant green peppers. It was like eating a heated can of dog food with green peppers. I will give the one star for a warm fresh bun. I should have walked right back in and asked for a refund but my husband was starving and had consumed half before I even had a bite. I've been a loyal customer at this store for years. Today as I was standing in a very long line I noticed something that made me instantly turn around and walk out. The gentleman who was cutting the sandwiches to wrap them, used his same gloved hand to collect cash and use the register. He did not change gloves when handling someone else's sandwich. Don't come here if you're actually hungry! We did an order for a softball tournament. When going to pick up the order, I simply asked the employee if we can double check the order. He was rude and said of course it's right look at the line out the door we don't have time to check the order. I asked for a manager and he said one was not available. I've been pretty lukewarm on Jersey Mikes lately, and it is due to their bread. It is very dry and too hard. I end up peeling most of it off. There is a solution for this : sub in a tub. This allows the authentic Jersey Mikes flavors to shine through without being dulled by bread. I will take this route every time now. Great for anyone doing paleo or low carb. So I received coupon cards to try Mikes again from Corporate. I came in to the store that i had an issue with before since they didnt recognize me at all this should be ok no lack of quality and no rush to over perform just average encounter. I ordered the Regular Size Sandwhich of what I had before did not order extra juat kept with coupon theme given. My sandwhich was hot and prepared well it was overly layed in jalapenos like very id say even when i got home and picked off what was extra i had abput a half cup alone. So on that note more mushroom would have been better I have another card and im going to try a different location it seemed three people in line with me had same cards given so maybe it just this location that has issues. You have one job here to make sandwhiches the menu is not robust and difficult there arent other things to order and mess up. So I appreciate the staff was freindly and smiling which is why I gave one more star on my update for the professionalism this time. All in when it came to sandwhich something was wrong oh and be fore you judge my image on my profile I am mexican and i eat way hotter then jalapenos but the amount was ridiculous to me maybe guy cooking was nervous and added handfulls of that instead bell peppers and onions I don't know. Came in today for a couple of sandwiches. From the cashier to the 2 ladies preparing the sandwiches- everyone was friendly and attentive. They acknowledged me straight away when I walked in, and my order was prepared in a timely fashion. I know I can always count on this location for cleanliness and excellence in service. The only thing they missed the mark on today was a detail on my order. I asked for a light/easy application of condiments. Unfortunately this was not seen because when I arrived to my destination 30 minutes later, the sandwiches were spongy and soggy on the bottom. Super bummed, but not the end of the world. I needed a drink without any added sugar and I was unable to find it, and when I went back to the counter and mention it, the manager came flying from the back and searched the entire cooler until she found what I was looking for.
