Pasta Genova - They make focaccia, pasta and sandwiches right here at the back of the store.

That's just the weirds stuff that I like... the FOCACCIA -- they're baking it right there! There's only two sandwiches. This is a GOOD THING... meat or veggie. Apart from amazing -- small detail: romaine, crispy, super fresh... the meats and veggie patty: great recipe. This all before mentioning their namesake dish... pasta... six feet away from the baking, a lady pulling noodles out of a pasta machine, which I'll have to experience next time.

Since moving to Toronto, I miss Pasta Genova deeply…read more They have some of the very best focaccia anywhere, which alone is enough to recommend them. But they also have nearly peerless homemade pastas (of which the smoked paprika linguine is my favourite, though they often only make it by request), spectacular prepared sauces, and regular specials on essentials that will get you things like premium olive oil or balsamic vinegar* at supermarket prices. * Genova is one of the few places I've regularly found a variety of pure, aged balsamic vinegar free from sulphites. AWESOME. So, here's some tips: 1) They ONLY TAKE CASH, no exceptions. I once witnessed a woman curse them out for this fact and declare she'd tell all her friends not to shop there; when she left, everyone in the tiny shop, myself included, burst out laughing, and one of the guys declared "we can barely keep up with the customers we have, we don't need her!". Very jovial, and they took her bitch-fest so perfectly in-stride they could give lessons on how to turn the other cheek. 2) If you need a quick lunch, pick up a focaccia sandwich -- they're about $4 if memory serves, with salami, lettuce, tomato, and mustard, and they're fantastic! If you want to suddenly realize you're hungry, walk down Wellington around 11:00am for the wafting glory of baking focaccia and just try to resist the pull. 3) When ordering pasta instead of ordering by weight, order by serving size. Say things like "I'm having a dinner party for six, four big eaters and two regular", and they'll give you an incredibly accurate amount of what you need, plus a little extra (because people WILL want seconds, believe me!). 4) Their homemade calabrese olives are out of this world good. They use a puree of oil-marinated chilis, oregano, fennel (I think), and oil, and very, very good sun cured olives... and damn, these things are so good I eat them until I hurt. 5) Ask what's on special, or if they have any leftovers. I've scored half servings of pasta, day old (but still delicious) focaccia, and nearly expired but still awesome cheese for cheap. Finally, I'll also mention that the staff here are fabulous -- very nice people who greet with a smile, always bid a good day, and work diligently to help provide you with exactly what you need to hit a homerun with whatever it is you're cooking. Only downside: Toronto Maple Leaf fans. Egads!

Greatly prefer over the chain restaurants. The meat sauce has a hint of nutmeg that captivates your senses and makes every bite of pasta, pizza, coin fry poutine craving for more. They have daily specials that rotate every day, including soups. The first time we tried Nick's was on a day that hubby felt like having pizza but I wanted something else, and ended up with Souvlaki with 2 skewers - one chicken and one pork. It was pretty good, coming from a small town! We had only tried takeout until recently. We were in a party of 8, but found a table with no problem. Service was quick enough, and the food was good. Everyone got something different (which is a bonus as far as I'm concerned). And the people in our party seemed to be happy with the food. IMHO it was really great seeing everyone, and I was happy not to have to clean up after this. Everyone wins! We will definitely be back.

We decided to start over after the pandemic and buy a small farm in Colton. We love living here but the food scene has been a struggle. Well we finally tried Little Italy Pizza and it was fantastic! The pizza ms are hand tossed and plenty of great toppings they do not offer at all pizza places. We tend to order take out two the ordering process was smooth, the staff very friendly, and the restaurant extremely clean. We will be making this place our only go to Pizza Place going forward. Next, we will order the subs and you can tell a lot of a restaurant in the quality of their chicken parm. More later. Tommy

Canton Little Italy:…read more My best friend hired this business to cater their wedding in August 2025. They began planning in December 2024 with this venue. The deposit required was 50%, but they paid 90% upfront to finalize plans. A month before the wedding, they reached out to confirm details and received no response. When the owner finally replied, she stated she was "busy" and later added unexpected charges for delivery and setup -- costs that were not disclosed in the original quote. Understandably, this caused stress for the couple, who had already budgeted based on the original agreement. When they asked for a breakdown of what had already been paid for, the owner responded rudely, saying it would take her "hours" to prepare and refused to provide clear answers. When the groom attempted to resolve the matter in person, the owner raised her voice, used inappropriate language, and refused to offer either a compromise or refund. She also told them it was "on them" to figure out how to get the food on their wedding day if they did not want to pay the additional fees. On the day of the wedding, my husband volunteered to pick up the food so the couple wouldn't have to worry. Despite paying the remaining balance plus gratuity, he was left to load 10 pizzas and 12 trays of food by himself, without assistance -- as the owner and staff would not even have the decency to hold the door open. The food was delivered and had to be warmed up before it was even served at the venue. Thankfully, the wedding crew pulled this off for the newlyweds! This experience was unprofessional, disrespectful, and deeply disappointing, especially for such an important occasion. I cannot recommend this business for catering, events, or even casual dining. Transparency, professionalism, and basic courtesy should be the standard, especially in hospitality -- unfortunately, this establishment showed none of these qualities. While I love to support local, choose yourself a business that is professional and has the compassion to work with you, one that is respectful and honest!
