One of my colleagues is from Perth and when I told her my husband and I were doing a day trip to Perth as part of our staycation, she recommended we have lunch at Fieldhouse. I love bakeries, so we followed her recommendation. The place is a lot smaller than I expected. It only has seating for 8 inside (4 tables of 2) and 4 picnic tables outside (so seating for about 16 outside). I got the Chicken and Brie sandwich ($14.75) and added a side salad for my husband and I to share ($5). My husband got the Ham and Swiss sandwich ($14.25) and we also got a cruffin ($5.25) for dessert, but ended up taking it home. Before we left my husband got an Americano to go ($3). I enjoyed my sandwich. The bread was crusty and held the ingredients of the sandwich well. The peppery arugula in the sandwich went well with the chicken and Brie. I was thrilled that the chicken was real roasted chicken breast meat (and not deli meat, lol). The aioli was flavourful but a bit excessive in quantity for my tastes. It dripped onto the plate with every bite, lol. The salad was leaf lettuce, shredded cabbage and carrots. Vegetables were fresh. I asked for the dressing on the side and it came as requested. The dressing was a creamy dressing and on the runny side. I'm glad I asked for it on the side, as I used only about a third of it. I had a bite of my husband's sandwich and it was ok, but I much preferred mine. He liked his better, so it all worked out. His was on a fluffier and softer bread. The ham was deli ham, but it tasted ok. The Swiss cheese was nippy. Service was pleasant. My husband enjoyed his Americano. We had the Brownie Cruffin at home. The pastry was flakey and delicious. The chocolate filling was like a rich chocolate pudding. It was very decadent. Overall we enjoyed our meal, but I found it a bit pricey, but I guess in today's economy, this is what you pay for sandwiches. Street parking only. (125)

I've been here over and over again. Their sandwiches are fabulous, fresh greens, quality breads and…read morethoughtful ingredients. Always hits it out of the park for lunch. Also the pastries and baked goods are magical. Decadent cookies, flaky croissants, which is seemingly their specialty with cruffins (muffins made with croissant dough and filled with magic) traditional croissants, and cinnamon sugar morning buns, which are all on the menu daily. The cruffins are perfection. My personal favourite is the lemon blueberry, the perfect balance of buttery, tart and sweet. The morning buns are delightful sugary goodness, brownies are rich and luscious, and they have the best ginger molasses cookies around.. There's honestly options for everyone, simple but delicious for the kids, traditional picks to please anyone and elevated unique fare for the adults - including craft beer to top off a fantastic meal. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Perth and locals alike. But go early if you're going for the baked goods, they sell out fast!

This is a situation where if I could select 0 stars I would because we were never actually served…read moreand instead were yelled at to leave. We entered the pizzeria with a service dog in training and were immediately confronted by a small dog that was completely loose and growling at the dog I was training. My dog stood still and did not vocalize or lunge back. Someone who worked there then came out and yelled at us to leave because dogs are not allowed. My dog was wearing a vest from the non-profit organization that he is from that identifies him as a service dog in training. As a service dog in training he is not covered under ADA, which I fully understand and respect. However, I am typically at least given the opportunity to explain that I am training the dog, and once the establishment understands the situation and sees that my dog follows all the same rules as a service dog, access is typically allowed. My issue with this place is not that we were denied access but the way the situation was handled. I understand that people bringing their pets with them everywhere and the entitlement that sometimes comes along with that is a problem. I understand and actually appreciate strict no pet policies, and respect a businesses decision not to allow a service dog in training. But, the fact that there is a confrontational dog completely loose in the pizzeria while being yelled at to leave because dogs aren't allowed did not sit well with me. I always try and put myself in the shoes of someone who is blind or has a disability that requires the use of a service dog, and after experiencing how we were treated I did not want to support this business so we ended up getting pizza elsewhere. It was a very unfortunate experience. Hopefully the dog is much friendlier to people, but even still, not everyone wants to be greeted by a loose dog nor do they want a dog loose in a place they will be dining.
