Delish- fresh, fast and friendly. Wonderful friendly staff that was helpful in choosing just the right item. I had an over easy egg, hash browns and biscuit & gravy. Made to order on a griddle behind the counter. Staff works well together& in sync to get orders out to customers. We also had a double bacon cheese burger with onion rings. The rings were just the right amount of batter and so crispy. Perfect old school dinner setting. The crew here cares about what they do & they do it in a professional manner. Definitely one of the weirdest restaurants in town. Everyone sits at the bar and you're really close together. You also watch the food being made right in front of you. It's different from other places so you'll either love it or hate it. The food is amazing though and affordable. Lots of options for breakfast or lunch. I highly recommend the hot cakes. This is the oldest diner in Burlington and there's reason why they're still around. I feel like if you looked up the term "Hole-in-the-wall" you'd find a photo of Jerry's Main Lunch. Yes, it's not much of a looker, but this little spot is something special and definitely worth a visit. You walk in and there's a counter with stools, behind the counter is the flattop and basically the kitchen. The lovely woman that greeted me, waited on me literally cooked my Elk Burger (Locally Raised) right in front of me! I would have asked about some of the history but I was a bit too shy this time. First off I went on Veterans day and they were offering free toast and gravy to vets. I had a Jerry Burger and it was mouthwatering and juicy with fresh crisp condiments and a soft bun. The onion rings were hot and crisp and very flavorful. My wife had the Tenderloin and fries. The Tenderloin was delicious. It was homemade and just the right side. I personally hate the giant dry tenderloin at some places. The fries were fresh cut and deep fried to perfection. The place is very clean and the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Since 1947 this establishment has served good food. It is a funky place with a counter that maybe seats 12 people. The grill is just on the other side of the counter and the chef is cooking your food in front of you. You get engaged in a conversation with the chef, others at the counter start to join in. Great little diner. You can smell the nostalgia walking into this place...my 90 year old grandfather talks about eating lunch here back in the day and I doubt much has changed.
