He came to give a free estimate, helped cover the hole so it wouldn't suck up all the cool air in the house, and he was able to start the job fairly quickly. Due to the type of textured ceilings in my house he even went the extra mile to try and match it as well as he could, and he did just that!! Very reasonably priced and I couldn't have asked for anything or anyone better. Fast, courteous, and damn good at what he does.... And he pretty much does it all!! I will definitely use him for all of my needed housework in the future without a doubt!!

But they don't necessarily know what was quoted and when I had a closet painted (with a paint that has 1 coat guarantee), they told me I needed more paint and I didn't realize it was for a second coat that wasn't quoted. I didn't authorize a second coat and dale insisted it was necessary (for a closet it most certainly wasn't). His crew should know what is included in the work and when I pointed out they got paint on inside of door from closing it on wet paint he told me it was there before and insulted the state of my house in doing so. Should have waited for my regular painter to become available.

The head contractor will come out and give you an estimation. Take those words VERY strongly because it is definitely nothing but a estimation, which he willfully leaves the details out of. Basically, there are small details within the jobs that the contractor is responsible to ask as he is providing a service to customers who may not have full knowledge within the field. He will use this to come up with ways to increase your charges as the work goes along, instead of bringing your attention to them from the beginning during the quote. He will state this was not part of the original agreement wherein he did NOT ASK about specific details of the job where the average person would not know are not included. I say all this to say, you WILL WIND UP PAYING MORE THAN HE QUOTES. He will have workers stop the job (yes in the middle of it) until you agree to pay more basically pushing you into a corner. DO NOT BE FOOLED. Sometimes, paying a little bit more but going with a straightforward, honest company who will not blindside you along the way is worth it. Because trust me, if you choose to go with this company, you WILL wind up paying more than you expect. FIND OTHER CONTRACTORS, GET QUOTES AND PAY A LITTLE MORE TO GO WITH SOMEONE PROFESSIONAL.

However, the rate that i was charged at $180/hr for each person to put together 3 beds was ridiculous. This was not transparent in their quote. I was under the impression that would be $180 for both ($90/hr) which is still expensive but doable. $180/hr per person is more than a Union Contractor makes in NYC. The Handymen were just there to build 3 beds! The price was insane and i will NEVER use them again. If you wish to use them, please make sure they provide you with a detailed breakdown of the costs (not just a per hour quote) so you are not surprised like i was.

Not only am I very disappointed with the diagnosis process and…read morethe repair that did not address the issue that I called them for but also with the failure of their management to address my concerns. I called Plumbing Express to investigate and resolve a water leak in my kitchen ceiling. The leak was directly below my master bathroom toilet, which my sister and I had already narrowed down by tapping on the kitchen ceiling downstairs while listening upstairs, where the sound was clearly strongest near the master bathroom toilet. The technician briefly inspected both bathrooms but focused on my sister's bathroom on the opposite side of the house after noticing a damp sponge under the toilet tank. My sister explained the sponge was there because she sprays and cleans the toilet regularly, not because of a leak. The plumber then cut open the kitchen ceiling drywall, stated the leak was coming from the water supply line from my sister's toilet, and performed a complete toilet tank rebuild for $450. After the repair, he gave me a card for a company that performs restorations and recommended I call them to inspect for subfloor damage. When that restoration company arrived, they immediately stated there was no way the ceiling leak could have originated from the secondary bathroom because of the location and no evidence of water stains. They recommended another plumber and a leak detection company come out to find the leak before they performed any work. I contacted a second plumber, who agreed the leak was much more likely connected to the master bathroom toilet directly above the leak area. Finally, I hired a leak detection company, and they also confirmed the leak aligned with the master bathroom location, not the secondary bathroom Plumbing Express repaired. At this point, three separate professionals have stated the leak could not have originated from the bathroom Plumbing Express serviced. I paid $450 for a repair that did not address the actual problem I originally called about. In Response to Ty G: Your response is totally incorrect. I would not have called the second plumber and the leak detection company if your recommended restoration company had not told me that the leak was not identified. The pictures taken are of the secondary bathroom not the master as we discussed in our phone call. It is totally "disingenuous" for you to now state that the master toilet was the issue. This validates everything I thought about your company. Others beware!

I paid $250 for them to stain four posts, spill stain on my concrete and ladder. He walked off the job and refused to credit me back any money. Very unprofessional and completely unorganized. The worst patching and painting job I've ever seen in my life. The worst work ethic I've ever observed. For instance, to reach high places, instead of bringing a ladder like a normal contractor, this guy decided to stand on my personal property without asking. Being that I work at night, I'm a full-time graduate student, and I'm in the military, I would advise him to come around 8 o'clock in the morning. He would show up around 11 or 12. No heads up or anything. Very inconsiderate. Very disregarding. Very unprofessional. And his "team" was his unlicensed cousin visiting from out of town. That made me ask the owner where he went to school for his work, his response was "the school of hard knocks". I feel like this company takes advantage of women by gaslighting and manipulating. When I would say that there were certain areas on the wall that weren't painted with the color paint that I selected, he would tell me that it just looks like that because the paint is still wet. I would wait until the next day for it to "dry", and it would still be a different color. My bathroom was blue, and I had him to paint it an ivory color. I would still be able to see the blue underneath, and after informing him, he told me, "it's because you're just used to seeing the blue from before". On my bedroom ceiling, you could see the overlapping, because he only painted one layer. He would tell me that it only looks like that because there are shadows in the room. I asked him before he started painting if he needed me to clean the walls because I didn't want him painting over dust and dirt, his reply was that that's a part of painting, and that he would take care of it. I literally saw him paint over dust. In my bathroom, you are able to see large painted dust particles that have been rolled up by the paint. There are spots in my bedroom, where no paint came in contact with the wall at all. They didn't even paint behind the stairwell railing. And he sanded and painted the stairs, it looks like a child did it. There are also places where no paint should have common contact with things at all, like my ceiling fan, my light fixture, door hinges, stairwell railing, etc. Very horrible work. After showing my realtor the work that his recommendation left behind, even he stopped working with him. Zero out of 10. Do not recommend! Take your thousands of dollars elsewhere!!! I had to hire a different company to come in and fix his work. They ended up apologizing to me on his behalf for such a horrible job done.
