Tasteless talk shows come and go, but one magazine declared this long-running daytime chatfest "the worst show in the history of television." Loaded with bleeped profanity and guests who aren't afraid to embarrass themselves on national TV. My daughter went to a few of the shows taping, and she said she laughed from the minute she walked in to the minute the show was over. Jerry Springer Show Yes there was a time I watched the show. With basic cable TV I had little entertainment choices. After a while I tired of the fighting and miserable participants. I did feel Jerry had a good heart. He offered sympathy and advice at the conclusion of the show. All was not lost.... Rest in Peace Jerry. I'll never forget your closing words.... Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! This show was awesome. I always dreamed of being on this show, and throwing a chair or going for a haymaker punch to only be held back by Steve, the bouncer. My favorite episodes generally involved the "Holiday Hell Feast" where they'd invite the midget Klan over with the midget Black Panthers and let them sort it out over mashed potatoes and gravy. The episodes where someone reveals themselves to be a transgender were always good television. Inevitably, people got their hair pulled or a chair thrown. I never made it to the taping, unfortunately. But it was always my favorite thing to watch on TV when I got to stay home sick from school. I heard they moved the taping to Connecticut. I guess there's better freakazoids out there to put on the show. But it wasn't tacky television. There was always the closing thought, where Jerry poignantly summarizes what we've learned and how we can all make the world a better place. read more

Just like silly soap opera shows if you spent many days at home due to unemployment, illness. Laziness or worked at night , you were the many like me who would watch in horror and delight at the jerry springer show. From white trash , ghetto dwellers , strippers, adultery types, losers , lowlife types, brainless fools and many more undesirable souls , this show was the train wreck we all needed. The story lines and subjects were so insanely outrageous we didn't care if it was bullshit or not as we loved every weird second of it and we had the former mayor of Cincinnati to thank for all the madness. What I admired about Mr springer is that he didn't take himself or the show seriously at all and that's what made it trashy enjoyment. But as any other show or product we get to consume for long periods, we eventually lose the excitement as it runs its course. Thank you jerry springer for the trashy no redeeming quality show , it gave this unemployment for 5 months fool plenty of laughter and shock during the mornings. This is one of the biggest white trash shows around. And when I heard the tickets were free, I hopped right on it! The best part was when they called me and asked me when I could show up! So they called, I went, and I lived it. They even put me on tv. YEAH BABY! Wanna know why they put me on tv? Because I'm the only freakin asian chick that watches this crap. But it is so entertaining, how can you not? Jerry was extremely friendly. He warmed up the crowd before the show started and stuck around to chat with us after. A taping of the Jerry Springer show needs to be in that book of 1000 things to do before you die. First off, tickets to the show were really easy to get. You call or email they show and someone calls you back to give you more information. They also send detailed instructions with the tickets on where to go, what to wear, etc. Jerry also confirmed that they are moving the show to Connecticut after this season so act now! Also, they only do tapings on Mondays and Tuesdays. On the day of the taping, you basically get to go through a slow security line (arrive early!) They then bring you into a waiting room with other audience members. I would equate this experience to renewing my driver's license at the DMV. I saw so many mullets and weaves I didn't know what to do!!! They also sold nachos, hot dogs, candy, and pop. The show itself was pretty amusing. They prep you for when to yell, cheer, call someone a whore, etc. Then Jerry comes out to warm up the audience with stand-up comedy and then you see three segments and do a question/answer. It was pretty simple but sucked a lot of energy out of me! read more

If you live in Chicago how can you not go to this show? Me and the fab Annie T. donned our white trash jeans and hit up the Springer Show. I've been wanting to go for weeks but have never taken the time to actually try for tickets. Jerry warms up the crowd with a pretty funny but perverted opening monologue and then the fists fly, f bombs are dropped, shirts are ripped off, and even teeth are removed. Overall the experience was hilarious and a lot of fun. Its a nice escape from hearing the bad news of the economy everyday, and you find yourself chanting as loud as ever for JERRY JERRY, and my favorite that day TOOTHLESS WHORE. Jerry is planning on moving the show to CT next year so dont let this gem pass you by. Overall the experience was amazingly fun and wild and the stories make you feel better about yourself, A LOT better about yourself. I would go again in a heartbeat, how can you not love free entertainment. read more

I heard from a friend that she took her cousin from out of town to go see a show and it was hilarious and totally worth it. I'm gonna say it must depend on what show you see, because I do not think it was worth it at all. The show we saw was so horribly stupid that I don't even remember what it was about. All I know is that they basically lock you in the freezing cold studio for around 4-5 hours and don't let you out even if you beg. My friend and I were so cold that we were hugging each other to keep warm. If you do decide to go, bring a jacket. read more

I took my best friend to Chicago for her birthday weekend. I surprised her by taking her to the Jerry Springer show (I did other things too!). First you line up in the downstairs lobby, then you go through a metal detector, then you get in another line, take the elevator up, get in another line, they herd you into a room and watch the NBC channel which has the worst reception ever! Major snow. You would think since it's a TV station that they wouldn't have this problem. They sell nachos, hot dogs and other snacks in the waiting room. They also warn you the vending machines are at your own risk. Then they heard the group onto the stage set. You watch several high lights of the show. They tell you when to stand up, when to sit down, when to shout "Jerry! Jerry!, Jerry!", when to clap, when to call her a whore, when to be quiet. They want you to rip on the guests and they want the guests to rip on you. If you get stumped they whisper and tell you what to say. They tell the people that they don't want everyone asking for Jerry beads. Oh lord... there was one guy who was wearing a pink polo shirt, pulled down his pants and he had a pink lace thong... And the women who did show themselves... shouldn't have. First you clap, scream Jerry, sit down, watch the first guest for a bit, stand up clap, sit down, and all over again... you do this at least 3 times per guest and you go through 3 guests. We were worn out from the sit, stand, scream at the top of your lungs and over and over.... Did it once.... won't do it again.... Nothing can quite prepare you for the trashy train wreck that is Jerry Springer. My office bestie hit up a university career fair to recruit for our company the other week. She did some networking which fortunately, included the Jerry Springer producers. She gave them my info. Low and behold, I was given 5 tickets to a taping. The most annoying part of the night was being seated in a holding room for an hour and having to sit next to 19-year-old clowns that felt like they had to be really cool and impress their friends. However, the minute the show started-- I was incredibly shocked, entertained and even felt a little violated when a 400-500 lb man took of his shirt. I kept asking myself, "is this real life?". Grab a good group of open-minded friends and see a show. This is the last season of taping in Chicago... they are moving to Connecticut next season. After viewing this, I now know that I live the good life. read more

My friend and I went to Manhattan to get the Jerry Springer Shuttle to the show in Connecticut recently and a staff person named Maury sent us away. I saw her name tag on her clothing. Maury played favorites and allowed a group of younger girls to go in front of me and my friend. Supposedly they missed another bus and Maury the staff girl remembered them. Maury claimed she had too few tickets and the bus was VIP. I saw my name on the list in Maury's hand. My friend and I were sent away. Yet this little twit that looked like an intern allowed her home girls in the back of the line to go in front. Now I think people are sneaking on The Jerry Springer bus. I believe it was age discrimination. I refuse to watch Jerry Springer any more and encourage others not to watch this show. I do not kiss tail. I could care less if Elvis was alive driving this bus lol.. I rejected follow up VIP tickets. I can not afford to keep going to Manhattan and getting played. I purchased food, and paid for transportation. Show ratings can go up and back down. Let's not forget that the audience makes the show not the interns. read more

Well this was one of the most random things I've ever done in my life. The episode I attended was called "Todd Dates a Tranny and Midget Fights." The title sums up what happened!! It was really wild, but fun and entertaining. I particularly found it interesting to see how a TV show operates. There were of course the weirdest looks dude around in the crowd and women were highly encouraged to flash their breasts. All in a day's work of the Springer show. On a side note, I was really impressed with how outgoing and polite Jerry was. During the "commercial breaks" he was shaking hands and chatting with people in the crowd. Despite the complete trash show he hosts, he is a real down-to-earth guy. Would I recommend going to a taping of the Jerry Springer show? Absolutely. Absolutely great, saw some stripper chicks brawl "ding ding bitch", at one point during the fight one of the girls had her legs wrapped around the other's head and was just going to town hitting her. The waiting room is boring while they sometimes play re runs of old Jerry Springer Trash t.v. And they even make you dress professional or you won't be allowed to attend the taping.
