Dr Wintrob has helped me immeasurably over the years. My family and I have seen him since the mid 90s so we're talking over 20 years. Not only did he fix my vision problems which were serious and causing migraines, he helped me understand how to maximize my eye functioning and what I have to do to make sure my eyes can function under stress. My prescription was lessened after his help.
Since moving away in 2008 I have been unable to find an eye doctor in the Boston area that even comes close to what he provides, and am now driving down to NYC. No kidding, an eye doctor here (who claimed to know of Dr Wintrob) told me my eyesight didn't change after a car accident, even though I was very clear it had -- for years my eyes were stronger and my prescription had been lessened further, then suddenly the day of the accident I was seeing blurry, getting migraines and having difficulty seeing at night. Anyway, the doctor in the Boston area was very condescending and said nothing had changed and refused to give me a new prescription. A few years later and now I have a serious problem and need vision therapy again!
You can't imagine how vision issues affect every aspect of your life until you see better -- not just clearer -- in a way that your whole being is relaxed no matter what comes at you, no matter what you encounter, process and experience.
As Dr Wintrob says, there is no such thing as "psycho-somatic" -- if a doctor tells you that what you have is imaginary it just means they don't know how to help you, that in their medical model, your issues don't exist and they just don't know what to do. (After all, it's difficult to understand another's pain if we haven't experienced it ourselves.) It doesn't mean your complaints are imaginary. Don't rest until you find that person who actually knows more, who can do more, and who is really, genuinely interested in finding out how to help us all have perfectly healthy, functioning bodies so each of us can live a fantastic life! read more
