Every thing else was an available. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries and baked beans and an order of 10 chicken wings. The pulled pork wasn't really pulled pork. It was sliced and diced pork with sauce mixed in served on a wonder bread type bun. The beans were good. The fries were lukewarm and mostly shorts (less than 2" long). The wings weren't at all crispy. The sauce on them was tasty. It took way too long to make our food. I realize it's a brand new place, but they should put their best foot forward out of the gate. I'll give them another shot - for ribs. UPDATE- We returned to Hartley's now that it's been open a couple of weeks. We each ordered the rib plate @ $15 per. One with slaw and beans the other with okra and potato salad. Beverages - a water and a Sweet Tea @ $1.50 each. We got our boxes and beverages and went inside to eat. Each box consisted of 3 ribs, a side of sauce and the 2 sides. The ribs were tender and easy to eat. Not much rub or smoke flavor. I spread the sauce onto mine - it was an odd BBQ sauce. Seemed to be a chili sauce base and very sweet. The side orders were good - okra fried golden and crispy. Slaw was shredded cabbage with a nice dressing. Beans very tasty as was the potato salad. I hope Hartley's Rib Crib makes it as we sure need some options out here. I'll continue to get my BBQ at Summer's and 4 Rivers.

I went with two tacos (one asada and one chorizo) and two pupusaa (I had the pork and cheese). The food did take a bit, i am assuming it was the pupusas. When my food came, I found it good.I will say that i think i prefer the Tallahassee location (though it could be just an off night or my imagination). It was still good. Quality of food is way way down compared to what it was with the last owners. These owners only care about money and will get it anyway they can. Very sad. What a gem! They have what are certainly the freshest and best pecans and pecan candy that you can…read morebuy. They've been open for over 60 years in exactly the same spot and Linda Earnest, the owner, is the second generation to work there (but third and fourth are working there, too!). Linda is delightful and is happy to tell you the history of the business. They are an aggregator, meaning they buy pecans from local farms and individuals. The nuts are then sent to their buyer in Pensacola who in turn sells them to shellers who sell them to businesses that sell the nuts or use them in goods such as candies. The buyer takes the best nuts, shells them, and sends them right back to Earnest either raw or in any number of candies. These are "new crop" nuts, meaning they were from the current season (October-February ish). That's different than "this years" nuts which could have been harvested back in January (which is what you'll get from many of the roadside but sellers and supermarkets). So you always want new crop, rather than this year's, when you can get it. They are fresher and far tastier. You can go around back and see the buying and bagging operation. But you really want to go into the store to buy some nuts and nut candies. Everything we tried was delicious. And they also have a large assortment of holiday gifts and packaging. The business is seasonal and is typically open from October until February, or until pecan season is over. Call them or check out their Facebook page for their current hours. Well worth a visit!

I didn't catch his name, but he was a pleasure to talk to. We had both owned our own businesses and talked about the freedom after closing. The bathroom has Golden Girls art! And the main floor has the most amazing pic of Betty White. Adorable space. We both agreed it was some of the best coffee we had in awhile. My friend got my 4 year old chocolate milk and he was being a curmudgeon, but when I threatened to drink it, he said, "no!!" And slammed it down. He must have really enjoyed it too. Our barista said they were going to expand too, I hope they do amazing because this was such a great spot!!
