We were welcomed by the very friendly staff the second we walked in the door and they immediately showed us where to sign in, put our belongings, and offered us complimentary wine and an appetizer (caprese salad). The building is very nicely decorated and has such a cozy atmosphere. The kitchen was spacious and all of the appliances and utensils were in great condition. For this specific class, we were taught how to make shrimp & scallop ceviche, a balsamic rosemary marinated skirt steak, pesto pasta salad, and a peach dessert with rum sauce and ice cream. The staff was so great during the entire class. They were very helpful. Our chef, Nichelle, showed us techniques such as how to make cutting with a knife easier and how to properly cook our steaks over a stove top. The staff played music throughout the class and were always walking around seeing if anyone needed help and also cleaning our utensils as the class went on. The food we made was DELICIOUS. I'm so happy they let us keep our recipe cards because I will definitely make these dishes again. We found this class through Groupon and also the owner gave us coupons to use for our next class. I would recommend this class for anyone- especially date nights or a girls night out. I think the guys had even more fun than we did. I will definitely be back!

The food came out fine, nothing to write home about and certainly something that could be whipped up at home. I thankfully used a gift card otherwise, paying $200 for two people for that experience would have been outrageous. I would say it's a nice night out of an activity with drinking but you pay more for drinks, better off at a nice restaurant. Highly do not recommend this class if you're looking for an actual cooking class and a teacher who actually enjoys what they do/cook.

For the price of this class, I assumed that we would all be individually learning to cook each component - that was not the case as we were put together into teams of four where we divided responsibilities. So not all building block skills were able to be practiced by all team members. I had chosen this class because I wanted to learn these building block skill hands-on. However, if you're looking to meet new friends this may just be the spot for you! 2. Like I mentioned, the meal we made was super delicious. But in my opinion, it's creativeness / the fact that it wasn't more simple skipped over some of the true basic skills needed in everyday kitchen use. They were super organized. We were split into four groups and each group worked together to create a 4 course meal. Our meal consisted of bbq shrimp, Cajun crab dip, jambalaya, and bread pudding. I called Cakewalk Chicago today in dire need of assistance…read more I have an event this Sunday and I had a few questions regarding how I was going to produce a fondant covered 3 tired dummy cake and 100 chocolate covered pretzel rods! When I called, Ms. Lori picked up and boy am I glad I got her! She was super helpful, patient, competent, and kind. She listened to my needs with the intent to assess them and then she offered me her timeless, tested, and tried wisdom, so that I would be set up for success to do the work myself. She ended her conversation with a rousing, " You got this" and hearing those words infused my heart with the encouragement I needed. It pays to be kind.
