These guys are the real deal! I ran over a nail and needed a tire plug QUICK. I stopped by Mavis, these guys told me the nail location was a "bad spot" and were pushing to get a new tire! Went for a patch for a slow leak. They said it can't be patched while checking all of my other tires at the same time . Said one of the rear tires is no good and offered to replace all 4 for $1460. This happened to me once before years ago and I bit. I then went a half mile east to Cheshire tired and they patched it for $30 and said nothing about my other tires. Time will tell. read more

You are, at least by the standards of biology and social norms, an adult. You have a job. A mortgage. A wife. Two kids. Actually, THEY have YOU. How are you doing? You don't want to know. You're at the stage of life where you're caught in the grinding gears of routine and responsibility, and you're so used to it by now that it's as commonplace as breathing quickly during a panic attack: You get up, you go to work after you do the crap you have to do BEFORE you go to work, you work, you come home, you do the crap you have to do AFTER you get home, and then you go to bed. And the whole process continues. The grinding gears keep grinding. In "Man's Search for Meaning," Viktor Frankl describes life in a Nazi concentration camp, noting that time in the camp seemed to make the days move slowly but the weeks (and months) move quickly. Not to trivialize Frankl's experiences, but that is also how time seems to move at this stage of your life, only without a Gestapo. The point is, life can move very quickly, without any spare moments to reflect, as you're in such a routine that you're focused on keeping those plates spinning that you don't even think about WHAT those plates are, and WHY they have to spin, and why not just let the plates fall and break, and I don't know where to take this metaphor further. But then an event will put the brakes on the machine. It's usually a negative event. Sure, it could be positive, like winning the lottery; good luck with that! But for the rest of us, it's something that gums up the already rickety works: the furnace dies, or you need a life-saving operation, or your kid is arrested for shoplifting. Or, more commonly, you get a flat tire. Now, if you're fortunate like I (that is, the wife) was, the flat tire was discovered in the driveway, at the start of a trivial trip, not, say, en route to bailing out a kid from a shoplifting charge. And you've got AAA, so you can call them to replace the flat tire with the little donut spare because you're not handy enough to do that. BUT That flat tire is on your mind. No matter what you're doing, you know you gotta get that flat replaced. The ruined tire slumps in the trunk like Billy Batts's corpse in "Goodfellas" and you've already used the spare a few times and you don't know how many miles it's got left and hey there's yet another nor'easter around the corner. And it's the wife's car. You can't let her drive around on three-and-a-half tires and forget that she isn't supposed to drive more than 55 on that donut and who know what'll happen if she hits one of the many potholes that dot the local roads as if it were the aftermath of the bombing of Verdun during World War I. So everything stops. Not "stops," per se--the gears keep grinding--but that flat tire on your mind makes the grinding grinding-er. You could go to a repair shop, but you'll spend three hours in a waiting area more depressing than your workplace and you'll get jacked for other repairs you don't need and you're an idiot who knows nothing about cars so you'll just nod like the idiot I just said you were. But then you remember passing a place that claims to fix flats and you figure, eh, I'll give it a shot. So on a Sunday morning you get up extra early and swing by the ATM and pull out a hundred bucks because the place looks like a cash-only establishment and you pull up and you're a little early so you wait while a couple of guys drag out a sign to attract passers-by along with a bunch of tires to prove to those passers-by that yes, we do sell tires. And finally they glance at your Billy Batts tire and immediately tell you that it's gotta be replaced and you don't even argue hey can't it just be repaired because you figure how are you going to argue with these guys. And then the guy offers two options: a used tire for 45 bucks, or a new one for 80, and you figure he wants to up-sell you the new tire but he says the used tire is pretty good. So you say what the hell, for 45 bucks, even if the tire can get me through the next few months you'll be happy. But then he shows you a "crack" on another tire and recommends it get replaced so again you don't argue even though this might be a kind of scam but you just wanna get out of there and besides you've got enough cash to cover it so you say OK. And in 20 minutes they slap two used tires on the car and you think wow for 90 bucks I replaced two tires but you expect the wife to yell at you for getting used tires like what the hell are "used tires" anyway? But you go home and decide to not mention the "used" part--what matters is that you got two tires replaced for 90 bucks and hey the tires look pretty new to you. So you don't mention that part. You come home and the wife is working out with her trainer, who says he once got a nice pair of used tires from a place like that and you go YES THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I DID TOO! And you sigh with relief. And the grind is just a little less grinding-er. FOUR STARS read more

Great experience here. Pulled up with a flat I got on northern. Crawled there shortly before close and Was in and out of there in 20 minutes with a plugged up tires for $20. I work in the city and there's places like this all over the place. Glad to see one hit Long Island where you can just get a quick plug and be on your way. Great for the community! The guy who helped me I think his name was Guillermo was a great guy. Need more places like this instead of dirtbags like Mavis who pull a nail out of your tire then wanna put 4 new tires are your car and you're sitting there for over an hour. These guys asked my name and took my car in, DONE! These other places want email and address and all this crap for no reason it's a joke. I'll be back to this place for sure. read more

Been here a couple of times to deal with nails in my tires. They removed the nails and plugged the tires real fast (have choice to either plug or patch a tire). In and out of the place in less than 10 minutes at a good price. read more
