It was so lovely to talk to Jason throughout the appointment (even with my elementary Mandarin skills ) Jason's partner was also very attentive while washing and coloring my hair. Moses also warned me that red can fall out pretty quickly and would need to be touched up every few month - I already knew this from previous experience, but definitely great that he gave a heads up for people who might not know! Throughout the process, Moses explained how he was cutting my hair and took into account how I wanted a low maintenance haircut as well. Overall experience was also relatively quick - under 3 hours for cut and dye (although a part of my hair was already lightened from a previous dye so could take longer with fully virgin black hair). It was $220 total before tip ($160 for dye and $60 for cut - initial quoted price on their website starts from $120 for dye and $70 for cut), which is a pretty good price for a full dye and cut in NYC especially considering the length of my hair. Moses can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and English! Definitely recommend coming here for all your haircut and dye needs :)

They have recently gotten renovated not too long ago with the place being brighter by having more overhead LED white lights instead of using yellow light bulbs like in the past. Additionally, there's a sense/illusion of the space being cleaner and bigger from the way how they've rearranged the adjustable height barber chairs and mirrors on the wall even though the dimensions have probably still stayed the same. The owner has also changed who believes by renovating the salon would bring in more business and make customers feel more welcoming and more relaxed when they know they're getting a haircut and/or haircare services in a safe and comfortable environment. Prices have since been increased due to inflation pressures. Starting price is now from $15 to $20 depending on the length of your hair for women. There's actually a price chart with the price alongside each provided service which is hanging from above plastered on the wall. Staff speaks mainly Mandarin Chinese but would still understand minimum/basic English if customers happen to be non-Chinese. Hair stylists are patient and willing to take their time to give the customers their ideal looks/hairstyles. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone I know including my friends and family. My previous saloon that I have been using had declined in quality and workmanship since the pandemic. While in Flushing, I stopped by a shopping mall with a parking lot, it has an H-Mart to boot. It was an auspicious sign. I saw the sign of a saloon, called Hair Gallery Princess. I decided to walk in there and saw a stylist busy at work doing a full length ombre on a customer. Since I am a guy and definitely didn't need an ombré, I still decided to see how this hairdresser was executing the ombré. Luckily, I walked in as she was finishing the job. It seemed to me that Jenny had had decade or more of experience doing such jobs, and I felt that the communication and the end outcome of her job was outstanding.
