Following morning I get an email regarding high tick risk in area, wait my account is inactive, so I call and ask, if my account is inactive why did I receive an email, in which I was told, sorry that is an outside company that does that, that is not our fault, if you have a problem you would have to talk to one of the owners, she is just a receptionist, and kept talking over me trying to put blame on anyone and everyone but them, we only have two doctors and we are booked out almost a week we are that busy, a whole week, WOW! what happened to compassion for others and what they are going through with a small family member at the end of her life! I would never recommend this clinic again in my life time. Sorry for this, but when I don't go to the doctor in a year, I'm sorry you are inactive, you can't be seen, take your money elsewhere! So watch out everyone, in the click of a computer key, you can be inactive also!! In all thank you for nothing, from little Lucy's owners, we will try to explain it to our daughters the way you would like us to, I'm sorry, she's inactive!

I cannot believe how little Oakwood Hills Animal Hospital cares about animals…read more My 8-month-old Great Pyrenees puppy was seriously ill -- severe diarrhea, and his injured leg was completely non-weight-bearing. He was struggling to walk, and I was rushed and worried, doing my best to get him safely from his cage into the car. And let me be clear: it is not easy to lift and move an 80-pound injured puppy from a cage into a vehicle without causing more pain. That alone took time and care, but I still managed to get him there. When I arrived, I parked in the closest spot I saw in my panic, only to realize the entrance was down the hill. Even with all of that, I still walked in just two minutes past their "10-minute grace period." I understand having policies -- but where is the grace when it comes to a sick, injured puppy? Instead of compassion, Oakwood coldly turned him away. No flexibility. No care. Nothing. I then had to carry my 80-pound Great Pyrenees puppy back up the hill, in obvious pain, because they refused to let him see a veterinarian. What makes this even worse is that when we first set up this appointment, Oakwood specifically told us we wouldn't need to treat this as an urgent care or emergency visit unless it got worse. That assurance is the only reason we trusted them and went forward with the appointment. And when it mattered most, they abandoned us over a matter of two minutes. This is supposed to be an animal hospital. A true animal hospital would prioritize the health of animals over the clock. Oakwood has shown the opposite: their rules and image matter more than compassion, or the lives of the pets entrusted to them. If you love your animals, think twice before coming here. Oakwood Animal Hospital has proven to me -- painfully -- that they do not care about animals. And Oakwood -- please do not attempt to "reach out" to make this right. I have no interest in further communication with your clinic.

The contract they drew up made you feel as though YOU were a criminal and YOU could not be trusted. It wouldn't have been so bad however, the lady I was working with had this attitude like she was "entitled" to be nosy when ever and became very disrespectful. We received no vaccination record other than the rabies vaccination records and no certified vet records as to when their vaccines were given. These people had to ask ME what a certified vaccination record was. Unbelievable! I Just received a piece of paper with a bunch of dates and a questionable "unknown" if they had been spay or not. I took them to the vet and the vet found that they had infected ears and a lot of wax build up. These people swore they had healthy vet checks in February and we came into the dogs just at the end of April. I never saw any papers. So basically we are just "renting the dogs" because they really are not ours. DO not adopt a dog from these people unless you are willing to deal with difficult attitude, giving people. We are now giving the dogs back and will be seeking a reputable breeder for a dog that WILL BE OURS.

Those who adopt demonstrate unselfishly that they are willing to open their home to provide unconditional love, safety, comfort and a sense of normalcy - aspects they most likely never experienced. The people who care enough to do the initial rescue; searcing for, traveling to, triage, obtaining professional medical attention takes people with a vision for a much better life for those who have no voice. I don't want to think about what these rescuers see; the conditions and potential abuse these animals have suffered through - it would break my heart. It takes a lot of money and committment to be dedicated to rescuing, both for those who rescue and those who provide the final home. Knowing how Fluffy is doing is not enviasive - you've been entrusted with a very special gift - sharing her life is providing her with that voice that is saying, "Thank You!"

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BUSINESSES!…read more Tropic Waters is by far the best pet store around, and you don't get any of the standard BS that comes with corporate chains. It is truly amazing how many items they pack into their store, and how many gorgeous pets they have! There are easily 40 - 50 fish tanks with freshwater and saltwater varieties. There are also a great variety of newts, crabs, snails and water frogs to look at. (I have two fire-bellied newts from there, they're just the cutest!) Many different lizards, snakes and turtles. There are always PUPPIES to look at, whether they're for sale, or being trained. Lots of rodents and bunnies, along with birds, and a super awesome parrot that's been there forever and a day (Romeo!!) There's also a few free-range cats that just roam the store. Prices are a little bit higher on certain specialty items than Petco or PetSmart, but other items (like feeding crickets!) are a lot cheaper. Not to mention they have a lot of items that the big stores don't have. It's always clean here. The staff is ALWAYS nice here. And I've had much healthier pets from from Tropic Waters than any other chain pet store I've been to. I'd give them a 6th star if possible, they deserve it!

I went here to buy some fish tank rocks, tap water conditioner & an automatic feeder. Their supply for rocks & conditioner was very limited & only had 1 brand that I've never heard of so I purchased them. The rock instructions mentioned to soak them for 48 hours but out of all my years of having a fish I've never had a problem with inserting rocks with water conditioner. However I'm very disappointed in this place for even selling this type of fish rocks... They are filled with chlorine & killed my fish within an hour of placing him in his newly cleaned tank. What Fish Store Sells Chlorine Covered Rocks???? They also didn't have any automatic fish feeders except for 1 that was way over priced. Very disappointed in this locally owned store.
