Computech is the BEST computer repair/maintenance shop in SLC. We have always experienced the best…read morecustomer service and quality. I have 2 pets who shed a lot of hair, so we've gotten our fans cleaned multiple times. The other day someone actually asked me if I was using a brand new computer after the fans/ keyboard/screen was cleaned at Computech. Service is always super fast and thorough. I don't know anything about computers, including my own laptop and these guys will never make you feel silly (As a woman, going into other tech shops, this is a common issue for me). Earlier this year, when my boyfriend was getting his computer "checked up", the tech noticed signs that the fans were close to dying - Computech got into contact with us and offered to order and install the fans. They were extremely transparent about the cost of the fans and labor, making it clear that they were providing service at an extremely reasonable price. We will go back to these guys time and time again because of their friendly, fast, and well priced services.

I was told they were ahead of schedule and already working on it. I was quoted over 500 to set it back to factory. Most of that was backup fees. It was a new computer and had maybe 3 files on it. He then lowered it by half when I pointed this out. I left it there, but I didn't feel I had a choice. When it was "done" a week later, it still had the same problems! He still charged me a ridiculous amount. When I complained, he told me about how many hours were spent on it. He did lower it a tiny bit, but not enough. Finally, when I dropped off my computer it had Windows 10. Now it has Windows 7! I feel like I was screwed and taken for. DO NOT GO HERE! I should have read the reviews myself. I went here because it was conveniently located.

***UPDATED REVIEW***…read more The owner contacted me and let me know they made some changes including getting rid of the employee who treated me poorly. He offered to make it up to me with a free service of some sort, I forget what. Doesn't matter - the point is that he made the effort to contact me and make it right. I admire that so much. I don't even live in the area anymore, but if I did, I'd go back and give them another chance. Old review: This place is awful. The guy there was rude, short with me, and totally ripped me off. My friend Heather had an awful experience here too - that's why I'm going to the trouble writing this review. I hope I can save someone from losing money and getting treated terribly. I ended up at Starwest comp on Redwood Rd and it was a million times better.

I recently decided to build a budget gaming PC. I spent weeks going back and forth on the components, watching and re-watching videos, and waited patiently for all the pieces to arrive separately. On build day, I did everything right, but when it came time to power it up...nothing. I spent hours trying to figure it out, taking it apart, watching more videos, and begging AI for solutions. Nothing. The CPU light was was lit up on my motherboard, so at least the problem was narrowed down to a half dozen or so solutions. But nothing I tried worked. I called Compeer Twin Powered Computer Repair and they told me it's usually an issue with RAM (which I checked and double-checked). I decided to hire them and brought in my new computer. I love their office setup, btw. Within the day, they diagnosed the problem (one of my RAM sticks was bad) and got everything working. I've used other PC repair services in the past and always left feeling frustrated and fleeced. These guys were fast, fair, and resolved my issue with 100% satisfaction! They are the best, period!
