The property is located in the heart of the Vernal business district, within an easy walk of any businesses in the area. We walked to dinner each night. The layout appears to be the combination of 2 distinct original motels, now combined. This includes an Italian restaurant (reviewed separately). The rooms associated with both of the original motels surround a pool. Rooms are direct access to the parking lot (i.e., no 'central hallway'), which was fine for us. Check-in was easy. They also provide a couple of computers for guest access. This was useful on our last night for printing our boarding passes. In addition, they allow access to their dining room so that you can refill water bottles throughout the day, a service which we took full advantage of. Rooms in back of the pool are slightly trickier to park, but otherwise there was no issue. Our room was spacious in terms of where you can lay out a suitcase. There was also plenty of room on the bathroom counter for all 3 of us. This was in stark contrast to some places we've stayed in the last year (I'm looking at you, Amsterdam!). The only slight drawback to the room was the beds. I don't know that this was quite 'queen size', so 2 of us together both felt a bit cramped. It wasn't a big deal, though. Breakfast on the mornings we stayed here was from 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. The 'rush' seemed to be at 6:30 a.m., as those with river rafting reservations got there early. The process was a bit unique - you queued up and placed an order for most of your food (eggs, bacon, cereal, bread, etc.). Once you got that, you proceeded into the dining room to eat (and to toast your bread, etc.). Coffee and juice was self-serve. I didn't object to this, as I got basically the same food that I'd have had at Hampton Inn, etc. I assume they'd had some issues with food waste, and this was their solution. The food itself was pretty standard. Overall, this is a fairly basic motel that should meet most peoples' needs. I'd consider staying here again if I returned to Vernal.

I had just driven 850 miles in 11 hours to get to my husband that arrived before me. I had 2 hours to check-in, get ready & find the local mortuary to say goodbye to my father-in-law. Nicole met me at the front desk...1.5 days early of the reservations I had made online...I quickly explained the horrific situation because my husband was to arrive any minute and I didn't know what to do. We had no place to stay on top of things. My husband came in at that moment and collapsed in the lobby. Nicole remained professional and didn't get ruffled by his emotionally charged display. She not only got us into a room early, she helped me combine the multiple online reservations I had made, while I was sobbing back at home before leaving....and even extended our stay a couple days further "just in case". She told us it was easier to cancel instead of taking a chance on not having a room. She was right. We needed the two additional days to deal with packing up a life. I would hands down hire Nicole should she ever apply to my workplace. She was calm, professional, caring and even more gratefully didn't tell us "to have a nice day." She offered sincere condolences. Now, as far as the hotel. It was great. I would come back just to visit and check out the area in a heartbeat and stay here. Complimentary cookies in the afternoon, a delicious breakfast every day (was utterly shocked by the care the person working Tues-Sat gave us), and a coffee machine in the hall that kept us caffeinated for the week we were there. It was nice to come back after a day of sorting & packing to relax in the hot tub & pool and take a mental break from the tasks. I appreciated the washer & dryer because I failed in packing both of us enough clothing) and it was nice to see the gym & pool table, though didn't use. Housekeeping was great, kept our room as we asked (because we had stuff we had to bring from another location) and even left us extra towels and garbage bags for the day we requested no service, because it was our only day to sleep until we woke up after more than a week of no real sleep. It was probably the best customer service I have ever had at a regular hotel chain in such a nice hotel. Nicole made this stay for us. The BW we got the night after we left here in Elko, NV was awful, we were so disappointed. We didn't want to touch anything.

You can clearly see the outline of anyone in the bathroom and the gigantic gaps around the edges are so embarrassing. I guess if you're staying here alone, fine, but for a family with children, and their mother wanting a shred of privacy, this is not the place to go! All of the marketing photos are perfectly cropped so you never see this, but take a look at the photos I added, this is the bathroom and shower room doors. We will never stay at a SpringHill Suites again.

Staff that we encountered were friendly and answered any questions we had about the property. There is a workout room as well as a pool, we did not use either but they looked to be in good condition. They also have a small "mini mart" by reception if you need a snack or something essential and don't want to leave. You can easily walk to a few fast food/fast casual food options (Cafe Rio, Sonic, etc) if you don't want to hop back into the car. Parking was free and spots were easy to find. The breakfast in the morning had decent options. Overall a solid stay! Definitely looked to be one of the better options in the area. We did visit in the winter so the rate was very affordable. Not sure how it is in the summer, but I would still recommend staying here.

I had seen the Terrace Motel in passing as I am a season pass holder at Dinosaur National Monument. It has always lead me to lose myself in my imagination to imagine it lit up on a sunset night in the 1950's! And even today it always appears iconic and steadfast in this stark environment. I was so excited about my trip and nerding out for an entire week with paleontology. Today my booking was canceled. When I made my arrangements I failed to mention I travel with my two small dogs. And some establishments don't accept pets. They have their rights to their policy and a good customer would accept and respect the rules of the establishment. It would be unfair to make an exception to my fellow customers and being dishonest and trying to hide my fur babies is just NOT my style. The owner is such an endearing woman. She has a kind demeanor and is an inspiration to me because she is a female owner! The grace with which she handles potentially uncomfortable situations is so smooth. In the end she gave me a full refund (even though I was culpable) and welcomed me back again when I come to Dinosaur minus the fur babies. I plan on returning because of the amazing impression I had with the way they handle undesirable situations. It must be glorious when all is well. Also the standard of cleanliness is principally important to these people. And they really care about the health and well-being of ALL. Thank you kindly.

We look around and see its one of the 4 Bath Towels. (Strange) 4) Look at the beds and one of the pillows literally has wrinkles on, which is scrunched, as if somwo e just laid their head down on it. I'm wondering if someone was just in here before we arrived (late) and the maid had already plenished the room?? I call front desk 'Paul' and relay what we've already seen/experienced and he says, so what's your question" Uhhh, well....it wasn't a question its what's taken place AND what's NOT taken place, apparently. Paul offered to switch rooms, but at that time it wasn't necessary, let alone not going to remedy my concerns mentioned. How about a fresh towel, should've been. The 1st response/solution. When foing into the bathroom, the wall lite switch is all cracked and grimy! Uh, yeah, so we went and got clorox wiped to remedy it ourselves. The fridge handle is also gunky/grimy. The microwave oven handle, SAME! BED is uncomfortable to even sit on. My husband and I are on the OCD side, so these things are quite unsettling. There's another hotel we've stayed at regularly here on same St. and we NEVER incurred that there. So much for trying something different!
