I guess this is the norm at SpringHill Suites, but the bathroom doors are sliding barn doors with frosted glass! You can clearly see the outline of anyone in the bathroom and the gigantic gaps around the edges are so embarrassing. I guess if you're staying here alone, fine, but for a family with children, and their mother wanting a shred of privacy, this is not the place to go! All of the marketing photos are perfectly cropped so you never see this, but take a look at the photos I added, this is the bathroom and shower room doors. I'm glad we chose to stay here for our brief trip to Vernal! Checking in and out was a breeze. Our room was clean and in good condition. Staff that we encountered were friendly and answered any questions we had about the property. There is a workout room as well as a pool, we did not use either but they looked to be in good condition. They also have a small "mini mart" by reception if you need a snack or something essential and don't want to leave. You can easily walk to a few fast food/fast casual food options (Cafe Rio, Sonic, etc) if you don't want to hop back into the car. Parking was free and spots were easy to find. The breakfast in the morning had decent options. Overall a solid stay! Definitely looked to be one of the better options in the area. We did visit in the winter so the rate was very affordable. Not sure how it is in the summer, but I would still recommend staying here. read more

We really enjoyed our time at the SpringHill suites after a 3 hour drive from Salt Lake to Vernal we were so tired. The hotel is in the center of town and actually like an oasis of rest in a kinda rural area. We are city folk so Vernal to us appears off the beaten path and rural. The receptionist at this establishment was so nice at check-in. She gave us a little bag with water and goodies for our kid. There are fresh baked cookies at the desk and although I am sure she gets asked the same questions about tourist areas receptionist gave us maps and recommendations. We were very offered a room with a separate living space. There were additional rooms for the shower separate from the toilet..separate sinks in each room. Everything was very clean and the refrigerator and microwave were super helpful for this trip. Workout room was decent. Pool was dirty and water murky so would not recommend. Breakfast was okay with eggs, waffle mix, fruit and juices..meat was kinda not there but there. Like one morning we had biscuits and gravy. Tasted okay. Will definitely stay here again for service and the cleanliness. read more

A last-minute weekend getaway to visit the nearby Dinosaur National Monument meant hotel rates were extremely high ($249 / night), but the SpringHill Suites looked like one of the nicer properties in town (it is). As a loyal Hilton member, I'm not familiar with this chain or brand, but I was impressed. My room was spacious, clean, well-appointed, and quite lovely. The hotel is located in a busy area with a Cafe Rio in the parking lot. Free parking, and the lot was well lit and felt safe. The hotel was bustling with families, and the woman at the front desk seemed a bit frazzled. I didn't find the service here to be top-notch, but I'm sure that's a result of one and two night visitors. I can't imagine they get a bunch of repeat business, just due to the area. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. The hotel smelled and felt new, with furnishings that were in excellent condition. This wasn't a luxury property, but it was a cut above more mid-range hotel chains. I was comfortable during my stay. The hotel provided a laughable free breakfast, and I would skip it unless you are truly starving. All in all, this is one of the nicer places to stay in Vernal. read more

This was a very unique hotel. I couldn't tell if it was an older hotel that had been refurbished or it was a new hotel that had been made to look nostalgic. Either way it was a very cool hotel. Beds were super comfortable and room was large with hot showers! read more

It was a great place. Only here for 14 hrs but front desk lady was great and had some ibuprofen for me as I forgot mine.

We had a great stay here! The hotel is very nice and the staff is super helpful and friendly! The bedrooms are roomy and I loved the separate couch area. You could really sleep 6 in a double queen room very easily because of the pull-out bed. A huge plus is that they have a ton of mirrors everywhere. Often hotels will just have one in the bathroom, which makes it hard for everyone to get ready at the same time. Here they have 4-5 large ones throughout the room and it was so nice! My only complaint is that a couple of the mirrors are at weird angles in the bathroom and aren't very practical. During COVID-19 they still serve breakfast but you order it at the counter instead of serving it yourself. We were happy with the precautions they took to make everyone feel safe. I would be very happy to stay here again and definitely recommend it if you're in the area! read more

Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely go back. The room was clean, the shower had great pressure, and even the hair dryer has power. Our room has a fridge, microwave, a table for for work, 2 queen beds, and a couch for a 5th person. The pool area is very clean and the pool is heated. My kids swam at 8pm forgetting that it was under 30 degrees outside. Typical breakfast but didn't like it. Although my kids enjoyed the cereals and yogurt. It's ok though because there's fast food and restaurants near by - just stay away from 7-11 Ranch. The gentlemen at the front desk are really nice too read more

This hotel was about to get a decent review and tell, on my way out of my room, I noticed the housekeepers are not wearing face masks. this means, the whole time I've been in my room I've been exposed to objects and services that may have been coughed on or sneezed on. Front desk staff end about 50% of the guests were wearing masks and taking covid-19 prevention measures. But the one person who came in close contact with everything I touched and slept on acted as if we were not in the middle of a global pandemic. read more

This is my 27th review of a Marriott property, so obviously I'm a fan of the chain. One of the Marriott pluses is that you can usually find some brand under the Marriott umbrella no matter where you are in the country. Vernal actually has two - this and a TownPlace - which are located right next to each other. As far as the Marriott brand goes, this is more of an A-OK three star property, but considering the price and location I'm bumping it up to four to be fair. In addition to a bed, your room will have a wet bar, mini fridge, and microwave. The shower/vanity are separate from the toilet, which is nice if competing for space getting ready in the morning. The breakfast was decent - eggs, sausage, dry cereals, juices, yogurts, waffles, various breads, and bananas. No sliced fruit salad, though, which is always my favorite way to start the day. But, with the overall selection you should definitely find something satisfying. The lobby is well kept and modern, and the folks working the front desk were efficient and helpful. The hotel is in a busy area of town (as busy as Vernal gets), so you've got a Wallgreen's just a couple blocks away and a Mexican restaurant across the parking lot. It's a mile or so from the Field House Museum and a 20 minute drive to Dinosaur National Monument. Be sure to check out the lobby for tourist ideas, as they keep it stocked with brochures, hiking guides, and restaurant recommendations in the area. I did the Moonshine Arch hike (15 or so minute drive from the hotel) which I would not have found without the brochure. Enjoy your stay! read more

The Springhill Suites By Marriott in Vernal was a wonderful hotel with modern furnishings and decorations, very comfortable rooms, and a great staff. Our room featured a very comfortable king bed with separate "living room" area with a small sofa and coffe table. We also had a small desk nook that would have been great if I'd needed to bring a laptop and get some work done. They have free wi-fi by the way. Our room had a separate shower with sink and a separate toilet and sink. I'm always surprised when hotels go to the expense of a flat panel HD television and then don't have HD channels. Although I didn't watch much TV during my stay I would think Marriott would have moved into the 21st century, get HIGH DEFINITION dudes! The continental breakfast in the morning was nothing special, just the usual mix of cereal, bagels and other baked items, waffles, eggs and bacon, milk and juices, etc. My biggest and probably only compliant with this hotel was the pool. I love to swim and when I stay at hotels I always bring my swim trunks. I much prefer outdoor pools and unfortunately the Springhill Suites has an indoor one. The pool was very small and felt cramped even with a few people. They had a hot tub and a pretty large exercise room which was nice, but I wish they'd either put in a larger pool and a smaller exercise room or simply taken the pool outside. Overall the Springhill Suites By Marriott was a great place to stay and definitely the best hotel in the Vernal area. read more

The toilet was so low to the ground it felt like I was crouching down to catch throws from a pitcher in little league, and the office chair in the room was apparently designed for the butt of someone in second grade. The always-on light in the bathroom's electrical outlet, though small, was very bright making it hard to sleep. And on our last day we had the pleasure of getting chlorine rash from the spa. read more

We stayed in many accommodations during a roadtrip & this by far was one of the nicest ones. The place has a super high-end feel to it. Everything is clean, beds are comfy, & their shower has more than one showerhead. We really enjoyed their use of the space for the room we felt like we had a lot area to relax in. If you're teetering between this place and another. I HIGHLY recommend this one. It's also next to Walmart/ Ross/ TJmaxx which we always find convenient. read more

Made a reservation to this place, and requested a mobile key entry, and when I arrive they seemed clueless as to what a mobile key was so I told them to forget it and just give me the regular key cards which they did. The place itself is absolutely overrun with oilfield trash. No restaurant in town is immune from what is going on in the oil fields of vernal. I might say gas instead of oil. The SpringHill Suites itself was not too bad the room. Still it was obvious that it was heavily used and God knows how it was used. The place is locked up like it is located in a high crime area, which it very well might be. And at over $200 a night it is a disgrace because there is nothing in the area worth going there for. I was just on my way to Jackson Wyoming when I stopped in. I've been through vernal many times and have seen it change over the years, and not for the better. This will be my last time. read more

You will be fine if it's a regular weekday / weekend. Plenty of dining options nearby. By far the best place to stay in town, I can usually get this place on price line for 75 to 85 per night and going direct to Marriott the want to charge me 125 to 150. The place looks pretty average from the road but it's pretty modern on the inside and includes a passable breakfast. The only downside is you don't get Marriott miles when you book through price line. Sorry, I'm not yelping price line just helping you watch your money. Great ,clean, comfortable rooms and a mostly helpful staff. read more

I stayed here on June 30, 2012. Let me start by saying this is the BEST designed hotel room ever! It's like they wiped the slate clean and created something new. Walk in closet, separate toilet and shower. A cool little nook to work. Let's start at the beginning. The front desk lady was cold and rude. I arrived at the time on my reservation and she told me to return an hour later. I was exhausted and had a seat in the lounge. After about thirty minutes she said my room was ready. A male also helped her and was also cold mannered. I went to my room and really liked it. I was carrying my luggage up and shared the elevator with a house keeper. She was warm and nice. Later I locked my key in my room and a second housekeeper was also cheerful and unlocked my room after verifying my ID. The hotel is conveniently located on the highway. It is also close to a number of restaurants. I would stay here again -- but only because the room layout is so neat. For my online reservation I was given the option to reserve a room on any level (I chose lowest) I also could request one of several types of pillows. However, upon arrival I was given a room on he top floor and no choice of pillows. Why offer these choices online if you can't fill them? read more

Stayed here for 2 nights on spring break doing some dinosaur fun. Every staff member we met was kind and courteous, and check-in was excellent. They were so kid-friendly--even had suckers available on the front desk and offered us dinosaur hunting tags that the kids loved. Rooms were clean and exactly what we expected. We really appreciated the toilet being a separate room from the shower. We fit 2 adults and 4 kids comfortably in a suite and the price was fantastic. The free breakfast in the morning was the best we've ever had! They had a nice workout room and a smaller indoor pool. We had planned to use the pool, but it was usually crowded with those on spring break which we somewhat expected. They have a nice little market spot in the lobby for snack purchases; came in handy when our 3 year old was crying for milk at midnight. The hotel is right across the street from Sonic and next to Cafe Rio as well as many other places to eat. Dinosaur museum is just up the road. Really enjoyed Antica Forma for excellent pizza (mozzarella made in-house!). We really loved this gem-of-a-town and the locals are really friendly. We'll be back! We were in Roosevelt for a quick visit. We wanted to stay there, but we checked out the local motels and didn't really like the looks of any of them. So, we decided it was best to drive to Vernal. We didn't really like the "location" of this hotel. It's crammed in behind a small shopping center and is placed a bit awkwardly. The hotel lobby is bright and fun. The room design is just like the Springhill that we had stayed in near the SLC airport. We love the room design with a nice corner couch, room divider that doubles as a desk. Everything in these rooms were well thought out and had the road warrior in mind. Coffee table that can be separated into two and pushed up to the couch to act as individual dining tables. The frosty glass on the back of the desk/room divider can be open up to the bed. The coffee bar is very cool and complete with a mini fridge. The monster sized flat screen TV is readily available to be swiveled towards the living area or the bedroom area. Nice wooden slats covering the heater is a perfect place to place your bag. Loved the beautiful wooden wardrobe closet. Perfect storage. Loved the attractive lighting throughout the suite. Functional lighting above the bed. It's also nice to have a separate pedestal sink in the water closet. And the huge vanity in the large walk-in shower area is also very nice. I am a bathtub girl, but I did not miss the bath tub due to the nice size of the shower. Love, love, love the attractive touches of this room. As with a lot of Marriott's hotels, we were treated to the usual good morning complimentary breakfast buffet. The breakfast area is beautiful. It's so nice to tank up on all the cereal, self made waffles, eggs and bacon, bagels, muffins, English muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit. You get the picture. Unfortunately for us, we did not have time to use the small work out gym, nor the pool. But both looked very nice. I am a fan of this Springhill Suites. However, the one thing that kept the hotel from getting 5 stars was the cleanliness of the hotel elevator. It was a total mess. There were actual piles of dirt on the floor. Not a little dirt. A lot of dirt. And we were even able to follow a track of dirty footprints to one of the rooms. This IS a very nice hotel. But I doubt that it will stay that way for long. Vernal is in a oil patch town. And most of the vehicles in the parking lot were work trucks. So, I am sure this hotel sees a lot of tough wear. Our room was perfectly clean. But they will probably have to keep Stanley Steamer on the payroll to keep it this way. read more

We came here on a whim and were not disappointed. We had not been planning to visit Dinosaur National Monument, but decided to take a detour and take a look. I booked the hotel while driving in the car after reading several reviews of this and other locations to stay the night. It was clean, updated and with sort of a vogue look in the lobby and also in the bedrooms. Some reviews said the set up of the bathrooms at the foot of the beds were a little odd, but I was not bothered by this. The rooms were spacious and the beds were great. We needed two adjoining rooms because of our 4 kids, and there was no problem arranging this as there has been in other hotel int he past. Breakfast was great...above the typical hotel breakfast. We would defiantly come back to this hotel! read more

Nice hotel, very inexpensive. Huge room with desk and plenty of countertop space. Good air conditioning (critical given the outdoor temperature in the summer). Very friendly staff. Nice little indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Pretty good breakfast included. Nice lobby area. Several washers and dryers, worked well for us. Negatives: In a room designed to sleep 6 (2 queen beds and a trundle sofa bed), there is one towel hook in the toilet area, one towel hook in the shower area, and a frosted glass door on the toilet compartment so anyone using the bathroom and turning the bathroom light on in the middle of the night will light up the whole room - dumb design. read more

When i first arrived my room smelled like mildew, there was a can of tobacco in my drawer, two of the rags were dirty and food was on the floor. the next time my room was cleaned towels were just stuffed wherever on shelves and shampoo thrown on the counter. on day of checkout my husband was running late and would be 15 minutes past 12. They told me i could not have a late checkout and had to sit downstairs in the lobby in tears with two small children and three days worth of luggage. They also charged the wrong card!! The staff was very unhelpful. I have stayed at hotels half the price with better service and cleanier rooms. read more

This hotel has a great appearance, is clean and the front desk staff is nice, but the noise level is out of control. The rooms are not built solid and noise echoes throughout the walls. As I write this I can hear doors open, TVs, heavy walkers, full conversations in the hallway as if I have the door open, and babies crying. I suppose if the walls were thicker you couldn't hear all these things nearly as much. This hotel is not for light sleepers or for travelers who need restful sleep or peace and quiet. There are hotels in the area I've stayed at that have solid construction where the walls buffer the noise much better. Hotels are going to be noisy but this one is on the extreme end. I think they focused on the cosmetics more than quality construction. read more

This hotel is quite new and the decor is straight out of the Jetson's by way of the 1960's which I thought was totally great. The room was probably the nicest in terms of layout and features of any that we stayed in during our two week vacation and we stayed at some great hotels and lodges. This is a seriously well thought out design. The location is fine. Only complaint is that they couldn't keep up with the voracious demand at the complimentary breakfast, but the food was good so still five stars. read more

We spent a holiday weekend day here on our way through Utah to see Dinosaur National Monument. Usually, for the 3 of us, I get at least 2 beds but they only had a king/pullout couch combo left for around $155. For a solo business traveler, the room was sufficient. For a family of 3 (2 adults and small child), not so much. There was a small couch and desk area with mini refrigerator and microwave. I liked that the shower area was separate from toilet area. Paul Mitchell toiletries. Beds/pillows comfortable, room was clean. My only issue was the noise. The noise, noise, noise. 75% was due to it being a holiday weekend with lots of families with lots of kids. The other 25% was due to what another reviewer noted-I don't think I have ever been in a hotel with such squeaky doors. The hinges are desperate for oil throughout the hotel-it wasn't just our room. In addition, the doors slam loudly rather than many hotels were the door catches prior to closes, then closes quietly. A weird burning plastic smell near the elevators/hotel laundry also was a bit off-putting. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more
