Moving on my other son which he has a speech delay&is on the spectrum Dr.Jenny was not able to get x-ray done on him which she didn't even let me try to help her to hold my son down so she can do x-rays.She assumed (based on what she sees with her eyes since she has 3 Decades working with Kids )He has 2 Root Canal,4 cavities and needs 3 fillings and needs silver crowns based on her 30year experience and working with "hundreds and thousands " of kids till now. Since my insurance doesn't cover dental and shes out of network dentist when I asked her to give me an estimate for EVERYTHING my son needs to be done she said I'm not sure because I need to go into his mouth first (which she didn't have a problem give me a price $1,452 for 1 tooth for my other son)but she said it will be VERY EXPENSIVE because you are paying out of pocket!! While I was going back and forth with the nurses at the front desk about what he needs done and how much it will cost , they were exchanging sticky notes under the counter to communicate.(which that was very unprofessional and sneaky) One of the Nurses Lauren had to give me a quote during the weekend for all the procedures that needed to be done and on Monday I called go make sure they will send it to me Lauren told me Dr.Jenny will call you shortly which she did And said again " I can't figure it out the prices" until I see him again and she proceeds to say to me... Honestly its really hard working with him I asked her What do you mean?Aren't you a kids dentist and been working for decades with kids she said to me YOU SEEM SO PRESSED THAT YOUR SON IS Autistic and he cant stay still because you are talking very fast and loud you are yelling at me which I WAS NOT! How can a Doctor that been working with kids with special needs(at least what she told me) and she's familiar with these situations say something like that just assume he is Autistic, By the way whats wrong with being Autistic????.... as a HOLISTIC doctor she gave Flouride to my son when I mentioned to the nurse she tried to wipe it off and tell me it was not and doctor told her "just take that off her bill" . Today she told me I have an open slot if you want to come in and get x-rays done on him but you have to pay a $250 fee even if he DOES or DONT DO x-rays .. You have to pay for it because my time is MONEY and EVERYTHING is MONEY. Clearly for this doctor everything is about money because clearly she doesn't care about your kids teeth and tries to do root canal procedures even if they don't have them. So everybody please be careful on whose hand are you putting your kids to. She will be all nice and smiley until she gets you into her trap and hears the CHA-CHING !!!! I believe it's important to check back after some time has passed to see if my initial thoughts were accurate or in need of some update: well, I'm happy to report an update is necessary. Let's start with this; if I could give Dr. Winokur 11 stars, it wouldn't be enough. Here are the relevant takeaways: 1) I returned to the practice after writing my initial review for a number of issues: including cavities that needed to be filled; a chipped tooth; fillings that needed to be replaced; bonding that needed to be redone (the work of another practitioner just didn't hold up!). In every instance, the work done was the best you could hope for. Pro, compassionate, and incredibly well-done. 2). The above mentioned bonding was a challenge. Dr. Winokur knocked the work out of the park. I can smile again, and I feel great about my teeth. 3). My girlfriend visited the practice (on my recommendation) and her chipped tooth disappeared. Perfect work. Painless. And with rave reviews from her. 4). The support team here is the best I've ever worked with. 5) I now come in every three months for a cleaning. Eloise is remarkable, and the best hygienist I've ever known. Killer. In a great way. 6) Jess and the front office team are buttoned up, incredibly friendly, and helpful in ways you wished every doctor's office could be. 7) Dental insurance leaves something to be desired. This practice works with you to make sure you're getting the best coverage and value, and they try and minimize out-of-pocket(to the best of their ability) no matter what the circumstance.
