It takes a while to get an appt for injections, HSS tells you that straight up. I had a tentative appt with a different HSS doctor, didn't realize that Dr. S had already fought with my insurance company with an appeal, got my procedure approved and cleared a spot on her calendar. She is quick, efficient and no nonsense. Her office called the following day twice for a follow up. My injections have helped a good 65 plus percent from where I was before. There is still pain but it's not unbearable. There are no guarantees on any of this. Don't believe all these whiny reviews from other posters. read more

I went to Dr. Solomon because she had treated me several years ago for a herniated disc. When similar symptoms returned this year, she very quickly assumed that she knew what the problem was. Without scheduling me for an MRI, X-Ray, or CT scan, she did a round of injections. When that didn't work, she sent me for an EMG which revealed that she injected the wrong disc. She then proceeded to do another round of injections on the "correct" disc. The pain was even worse afterwards. There was ZERO follow-up from her or her office to see how I was doing. Her bedside manner is horrible. She makes you feel as if she has somewhere else to be. She is as brusque and cocky a doctor that I have ever seen. To make matters worse, it turns out her diagnosis was completely wrong. I went to see specialists at Mt. Sinai and Columbia Presbyterian. Both doctors were shocked that I was never sent for an MRI, X-Ray, or CT scan by Dr. Solomon. Turns out my problem was not a herniated disc but rather an issue involving bone spurs and my nerve root. In a city filled with great doctors, there's really no reason to visit Dr. Solomon. In fact, when I was being treated at Mt. Sinai, I ran into several former patients of Dr. Solomon who had the same issues with her. read more

I went to see Dr. Soloman two weeks prior to my epidural steroid shot. Dr. Soloman and Megan were extremely kind, compassionate, and understanding of my situation. They made me feel really comfortable going in for the steroid shot. They did a very thorough evaluation on the first day and talked to me about what I should/shouldn't do and adjusted my Physical Therapy script since the previous one (prescribed from a different doctor) wasn't working out for me. Everyone here is very knowledgeable and great at explaining the procedures but also all the questions that I had. From start to finish - I had a fantastic experience and very thankful I found them. Not only are the doctors great, but all of the staff (nurses, pas, etc) were very kind! I highly recommend this place and the doctors here are fantastic! I have not seen or have been treated by Dr. Solomon. My comment is only regarding her availability. She was referred to me by two doctors so I tried to make an appointment for a very important second opinion consult for a possible surgery issue (that turned out to be totally unnecessary). I tried to make an appointment back in 2011 in September, but I was told then too, that the first available appointment wasn't till mid November. So I cancelled my appointment. Reading other peoples' reviews here makes me feel like I didn't miss anything here. read more

Dr. Solomon is simply amazing! I went to see her for my scoliosis and she was very knowledgeable and intentional. She told me what I was doing wrong in terms of stretching and cross training for running. She even referred me to a running analysis to continue to help me. Overall, great experience and I would highly recommend Dr. Solomon! read more

Dr. Solomon was the first Dr that did require an MRI and she immediately diagnosed and treated me. Yes, they are busy and it took a few days to get in. She explained to me the issue and the procedure ( epidural cortisone) that she recommended. The procedure was done efficiently and stopped lower back pain that I had endured for several years. I would not describe her as warm and fuzzy, but when I asked a question, she answered it. I understood the diagnosis and the process. I think she is great and I don't really care if someone is brisk or a person of a few words - I care that they know what they are doing - she clearly does! Highly, highly recommend her. read more

I have been to see Dr. Solomon in the office twice thus far. She has been very professional, she has shown caring and concern, and she is clearly very knowledgeable. After x-rays and two MRI's, her diagnosis has been right on the money, and she administered two epidural injections just two days ago; the injections have thus far been remarkably successful. I've never met a more arrogant, dismissive, disinterested, doctor in my life. She was not interested in listening to me, her only objective seemed to be to get me out of her office,she prescribed PT and an MRI but never gave me her thoughts re: my issue I had to find out her diagnosis by reading my PT prescription. She spoke ill of every PT office on the UWS , her cockiness is unbelievable. After waiting many weeks for an appointment she allowed me maybe 5 minutes. I won't ever return to her office, there are too many other good doctors in NYC though she would most likely tell you she is the only one. read more

I have seen Dr Solomon twice and I really like her I have tremendous pain in back and legs and her diagnosis was right on. She pulls no punches. I like the way she tells you exactly what needs to be done She is very honest and straight forward. She expressed concerns about my health and advised me how we as a team she deal with it. really?!?! End of August appt when it is June for back pain??? What am I not getting, that I have to plan two month in advance for pain that I may have? I mean really what type of spine and sports injuries doctors make you wait that long for an appt? Isn't the whole idea around and injury is that is is not planned? Perhaps her staff is not running the office correct but either way it is just wrong not to allow time in your schedule to see injured patient when this is what you say you specialize in! read more

Cannot say enough about Dr. Solomon I have been her patient for over 10 years. Her expertise and compassion are beyond perfection! I have never had trouble getting an appointment. Dr. Solomon's diagnostic skills are far superior to anyone at HSS. I have been seeing her for years, and she worth the wait. Rating doctors on a scale of warmth and the ability to schmooze seems to be less of a priority than professional competence. She should be head of the department of physicist because of her quick and superb professionalism. When a symptom is not obvious to her, Dr. Solomon is persistence and determined to figure out what is wrong and how best to treat it. I would ask for her advice on any part of my body any day and give up all the other stuff. By the way, waiting for a brilliant diagnostician is worth the wait. read more

HORRIBLE. I waited over 2 months to get an appointment (my first with her) and she spent less than 2 minutes with me. She literally had one foot out the door the entire time and refused to answer any of my questions. She just said get more tests and then we will talk (though she asked me to get a different test done first prior to coming in then never looked at it or discussed the results with me). So now I'm stuck finding another doctor while still in pain. Would never see her again. Hopefully the next person will have a little bedside manner. read more

If I had the choice not to choose a star I wouldn't chose any. Dr. Solomon was the most unprofessional doctor I have ever met. Oh wait, I can't say that I met her! She walked into the exam room and didn't even introduce herself. She sat on her stool, looked at the computer and said the following: "What's going on?" I told her I was there as a result of a car accident. Her reply was "is this no-fault?" I said "yes." She said "I don't do no-fault." I told her when I made the appointment I made it very clear it was no-fault. She literally got up, walked out of the exam room and never came back. This all happened within 15 seconds. Then the "office manager" comes in to speak with me and we had "words." I told her I waited over a month for this appointment; I made it very clear it was no-fault and I was there for a third opinion; I traveled over an hour to meet with her, etc. etc. etc. I asked her if there was another doctor I could see, since I drove all this way and she said there was someone on the third floor who took no-fault. She then left the room and I waited and waited for someone to come back and no one did. I took my CD out of the computer, walked into the hallway and asked the nurse to give me back my other CDs and all my medical records. I asked the nurse what the name of the doctor on the third floor was - she mumbled and turned away. I went to the third floor and spoke to the receptionist who told me that doctor didn't take no-fault. I WAS INFURIATED!!! I have never been treated so badly by anyone in the medical profession. Dr. Solomon was HORRIBLE and the staff wasn't any better. I don't understand what it mattered if it was no-fault or not, I was there for a third opinion. Are you telling me that doctors won't even extend you the courtesy of a consultation??? I never said I was going to use her, I just wanted a third opinion. DISGRACEFUL!!! And to the three of you who gave 5 stars, you must be friends, because no one else thinks she's great - except maybe Dr. Solomon herself because she surely acts like it. read more
