I can't take it anymore, though, my stylist Katie deserves sooooo many thanks for what she regularly does to my stubborn, grey, fine, thin hair. I go in every 5 weeks and have for about a year now, and she always does such a fabulous job with both color and cut. I think their pricing is very reasonable, the salon itself is very comfy and fresh feeling, and I really can't say enough about how friendly everyone is from the moment you walk in the door and are greeted by the receptionist. I highly recommend Heather's (and especially Katie!) for anyone in Virginia Beach seeking a new salon.

She takes the time to explain the process, sets realistic expectations, and truly cares about the health of my hair while helping me achieve my goal. What impressed me even more today was watching her remain professional, patient, and kind despite dealing with some challenging and less-than-polite customers. No matter what was happening around her, she stayed focused on her clients and made sure everyone felt taken care of. Dalbe is talented, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what she does. I trust her completely with my hair and always leave feeling confident that I'm in good hands. If you're looking for a colorist who combines skill, honesty, and exceptional customer service, I highly recommend her.

Great experience! My stylist was actually the owner, Julie. She was personable, considerate,…read morethorough, and had great attention to detail! When I got there, her mom (she works in the business end of things) offered me water and/or wine! Never had that before at a salon and was a nice touch. Julie was very thorough in completing my perm. Even when she missed two hairs (exactly two; I'm not exaggerating) by my face, she redid the roller! She was super considerate of me when I told her that my neck tends to be pretty strained when I'm in the sink. She changed little things that went a long way, like applying the neutralizer with me sitting up instead of in the sink like she normally would, so I didn't have to be there longer than necessary. She was also quite patient! When the perm was setting, she started to grab a quick bite of lunch in the back and was not upset in the slightest when I came over to say that one of the rollers had popped apart; she just came on out and fixed it happily! I would have been disappointed like "man I just sat down!" I got a bit of a cut after the perm also, and she did great with that. She sent me away with a written note for my next stylist about what she did today, because I'd struggled in the beginning to communicate which rollers I'd had in the past/how curly I'd gone before, things like that. So she not only did a great job on this today but also made it easier for me for future visits to stylists. In many ways she just went the extra mile. Additionally, it felt like a community experience because the hairdresser beside her chatted with me as well as her client. It was a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere for sure! Overall I'm quite satisfied. If I'm ever dying to change my hair again while I'm visiting the OBX, I know where I will go! She told me they do weddings too, by the way!

They prefer appointments, but will take walk-ins (be mindful that priority will always go to appointment clients) I wanted to do a walk in, but ended up setting a same day appointment, only 2 hours after I made the call, so it a doable wait time. I ate lunch and had a nap before coming in, so it was already leading up to a nice chill day. My stylist was an older lady, and she was very pleasant, quick nimble with the scissors and mostly styled my hair with just her hands (I have natural waves) and used very little product. And my hair turned out better than I expected. I basically got a wolf cut with soft layers. As we talked, I found out she's had a collective of over 30 years experience cutting hair both abroad and here In the states. I can really appreciate the service she gave along with her pleasant demeanor during the whole experience I had. My husband ended up going there to get his hair cut a few days later...and I was happy with what they did to his hair as well. Very clean and styled in a way that suits his face and head shape. Not just a cookie cutter hairstyle that looks the same on everyone. This one really flattered his specific look and personality. The only downside is parking on a busy day, the lot is small and right up near a busy street. So I understand why they encourage appointments, to keep the parking lot from being crowded. So it seems like they already put some consideration into setting up a good experience for their clientele. I look forward to visiting them again in the future for a color job I want to try. All I wanted this time around was a wash, cut and style and it was decently priced and professionally done in a relatively short amount of time. Always tip your stylist, especially if you can't stop smiling at what a great job they did. thanks for the amazing service!
