My 2nd floor toilet overflowed causing water to drip through the 1st floor ceiling. My insurance company, Travelers, connected me to Jenkins Restorations. The various departments from Jenkins were immediately on top of the situation. The moisture remediation was tackled quickly and successfully. They were very thorough in measuring all of the possible points of potential issue. The man handling that part of the issue was so kind and helped me reach a place of calm in the midst of calamity. He did the demolition needed to allow the machines to remove the moisture. He spent time explaining exactly what to expect. The restoration team answered all of my questions and helped me understand the scope and order of the work involved. The bathroom required new flooring and paint. Jenkins worked my choices and let me know of any potential charges- which allowed me to avoid them. Once I had decided on flooring and paint color they handled ordering the material and having it available for the work crews. Communication was excellent through the entire experience. Having a company serve as a project manager and benefiting from their experience with proven subcontractors removed the burden and stress of dealing with a home disaster. All of the crews were professional. All of the crews were proactive in avoiding soiling or damaging surrounding areas. All of the crews were detailed in their work and cleanup. All of the crews were a delight to deal with. They all went the extra mile. I am 100% pleased with my experience with Jenkins and all of the staff with whom I interacted with. I would happily recommend them. I hope I never have a future need for their services but if I should they are at the top of my list! read more

what should have been a two week job in restoring my flooring and kitchen sink cabinet took almost three months! the flooring had to be done twice due to creases and poor workmanship. They damaged the countertop while replacing, then were not able to apply (burned a hole in the roll of formica) to fix the damage. We told them to use a preformed countertop even though we weren't really happy with the choices (just get the job done)....they botched that too!! Told them just get out...no more. Subcontractors were not knowledgeable about job needed to be done. VERY UNHAPPY....DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

DO NOT HIRE THEM. My Google reviews continue to get taken down for Jenkins restorations and you cannot review them on Facebook, as they do not have that field available. I left a review for Jenkins on Google Dec 2, 2022 only to discover it has since mysteriously disappeared, suggesting they petitioned Google to remove it, although there was zero harassment or policy violation. It merely was the reality of what happen and obviously that doesn't look good for business. I'd also like to add that because of their negligence with our crawlspace, a year after we moved back in (post fire), groundwater had evaporated into our ventilation and ducts, therefore contaminating our entire HVAC system with toxic mold. We only discovered this after our two small children were diagnosed with asthma and the pediatrician recommended testing our home for toxins, which is when we learned there was widespread toxic mold. Jenkins took very little accountability. We were again out of our home for 4 months for repairs (not done by Jenkins). * * * Due to a character limit I cannot post my full review. The long and the short of it is that we had an electrical fire that began in our crawl space. After 4 months of dealing with a sexist, poorly organized, lazy project manager with a lack of any sort of organization or communication skills, I had what was meant to be the "final walkthrough." (Please look at other Google reviews containing information about Scott and how he treated other customers- particularly women!) When I asked him why the entire crawlspace was still burnt and blistered, or why the moisture barrier was still melted and not replaced, or why there was no air duct to one of our air vents, he said "I didn't know it was gatored like that." As if you say we never mentioned the crawlspace to him....remember that's where the fire STARTED. They were fully prepared to let my two young children move into that environment. Pathetic for a company that has a Christian mission to serve. So after being passed around the company, repairs were ultimately made, though it was a headache. We had many things break, furniture and appliances go missing, and damage to our personal property that was not damaged by fire. They never viewed us people or this as a home. My two small children began to develop asthma symptoms within 6 months of being back in our home. At the recommendation of our pediatrician, we reached out to insurance who had us test for mold. Tests came back positive for toxic mold and we immediately moved out. The melted moisture barrier allowed ground water to enter the duct work that was open for 4 months, thereby entering the HVAC and spread throughout the house. For a company that specializes in restoration, one would think they would make an effort to prevent more damage and not cause it. They refused to take much ownership over the issue and finally insurance agreed to remedy the repairs (with another company) and not worry about collecting damages owed to them by Jenkins on our time. We already experienced a traumatic event that was nobody's fault, but the actions (and inactions) by Jenkins only exasperated our trauma, and physically poisoned our family. This company is deplorable. There were individual techs that worked hard and do a good trade. But the higher-ups are pathetic. They treated me like I was overreacting when I was level headed and calm when they butchered my house and were literally traumatizing me and my family. read more

Terrible customer service, and terrible workmanship. I would run from this company as the manager doesn't respond after 7 attempts and the project manager was awful during their remediation. They did not do the job correctly and fail to help or respond in anyway. read more

Capable guys with a great reputation. seamlessly worked with our insurance company to get the job done. we were out of state when damage occurred, these guys came out, secured the leaks, worked out the details with insurance and completed the job without us having to supervise. Can't say enough about the leader Julio Olmos who took care of this project like it was his own, trusted with keys to our home. Thanks Julio! read more

Do not use their services. We were assigned Jenkins by our home owners insurance company after we had a water leak. Their work has been poor quality and subpar the whole process. The staff is pushy and more concerned about finish the job than making sure it is done properly. I also don't think they are trained very well. Once the project was "complete" we had the have them back out an additional 3 times to "fix" the issues and things never got finished because I got so fed up. We were left with unfinished edges on our baseboards, pain splatter EVERYWHERE, baseboards not put in place, major gaps between baseboards and walls that instead of being redone were just filled with white caulking, floors boards that stick up, floorboards that moved when walked on, light fixtures they put back in were so loose they swung, etc etc etc. They also broke a piece of my plumbing and I had the make them come back out to fix. They kept suggesting that the plumber from a different company should fix it even though they broke it. Quality and workmanship are clearly two words this company does not understand. read more

My experience with Jenkins Restorations was twofold: remove damaged flooring and coordinate the project to replace the damaged flooring. If my review was strictly on damage removal and mitigation (certifying it dry from water damage), then they would get 5 stars, but things went awry with the flooring installation. Starting with the positive. Jose was just a delight to come out when it was convenient for me to assess damage, rip up the damaged flooring, use professional dryers to certify it dry, and then come out to check on it with me and remove them. I was pleased. One of the nicest people I'd ever met and demonstrated a clear desire to help, even if I needed guidance on the door installation/selection, which had to be done first. Flooring installation was a whole other story. At first Gerrod Speer, the general contractor and project manager, was great. He called to schedule an inspection and estimate. I was not available so I gave him permission and the information to enter my house, without my presence. We spoke over the phone as soon as I was available, he communicated the timeline, and kept me in the loop via text or email as the estimate and estimate approval was completed in a timely manner. Then it was subcontracted to a flooring design company, which then subcontracted it to a whole other flooring company. Delay after delay, but finally scheduled. The flooring installation on January 9th, by the third vendor, itself went smoothly. Looks good. During the walk-through on the 10th, I discussed a few things with Gerrod: the fact that the flooring was not sealed well on edges, like the fireplace for example, and asked if, as a general contractor, he could advise me on who to call for my sagging bay window. He seemed great and all too happy to explore more work or referrals. A week later, I was moving back in and some guy shows up at my door. Hardly spoke English, which isn't a problem since I spoke Spanish, but the issue was that he couldn't tell me who sent him or anything like that. Not only that, but Gerrod had TOLD HIM HOW TO GET INTO MY HOUSE WITHOUT ME HERE. I'm sorry, what? What if I was inside taking a nap and this guy just walked in? I was too busy to make a fuss about it with Gerrod or one of the other sub contractors. A week ago -- January 22, I texted Gerrod that now the flooring lip (I'm sorry I don't know the technical term) in the doorway between the hallway and living room has come straight off the floor. I sent him a text with a visual and asked for him to have someone sent out to address it and also reminded him to please have someone call before coming. It's been more than 3 weeks since I asked about getting the bay window referral or job done by someone from his company and more than a week since I asked him to have the floor doorway piece fixed. So, I called today to follow up. When we spoke, his demeanor and tone were not the same friendly tone as when we met in person or spoke previously over the phone. Re: bay window, none of his guys want to touch it. No argument there. I asked what he advised or if he had any other subs he recommended, since before he was so adamant about his network and interest in helping. His response: "I think you're just not happy with not hearing what you want to hear." Not the case at all and I was confused by this, but I apologized for any misunderstanding and suggested that I was only trying to get his opinion on how to find the right sub that would not be concerned about liability of a sagging window... he got extremely aggressive with me. It was bizarre because, of course, I'm not going to demand someone to do the job if they're nervous about shifting structures or something like that. HE was the one who professed to know all the right people. Then I asked about the flooring again. He said someone was supposed to come out and I mentioned that I still hadn't heard anything. I also mentioned I'd really like notice about when someone will come and that no one is to enter my house either without my awareness and permission or presence. His response: "I was trying to be accommodating with your work schedule by giving him entry." I'm sorry, but would you want someone to just show up at your house w/o your permission? I gently, and I really do mean very nervously, expressed concern about the tone of the call getting very aggressive, suggesting that maybe he didn't mean to come off that way, but it was how I was feeling. There have already been two necessary repairs to a flooring that's only 3 weeks old and it's under warranty so I have to keep going back to Jenkins. I would like a different Project Manager or someone else to communicate with regarding my flooring. His response: he hung up on me. I was astonished. Gerrod Speer should not be in customer service if he's going to be aggressive, but especially if he's going to raise his voice or hang up on customers, particularly customers who are being extremely respectful and appreciative. read more

From raleigh nc. Avoid Jenkins unless you want your credit ruined and a job not done correctly. Insurance contacted jenkins following water damage. They stated no water damage in crawlspace, yet a couple days later, I enter crawlspace and puddles lying about. My hvac ducts were filled with water. Jenkins refused to remove my plywood over subfloor and refused to investigate water damage into neighboring room. Jenkins kept saying no damage and insurance would not pay for removal of plywood. I obtained a moisture reader and under the plywood near entry to next room, subfloor measured 40 on moisture reader and almost 30 under my engineered hardwood in neighboring room. Somehow they did not receive message to not come and arrived at my home to "treat" the plywood, yet all they had was a chemical with artificial fragrance which I am allergic. They are charging me $160+ for a trip charge and refuse to remove because they brought something I am allergic to. If you want your home cared for, run from this company. read more

We had a frozen drain that caused our upstairs washer to overflow to the garage. We asked our insurance agent for Carolina Restoration. Instead they sent these clowns who didn't have the heaters to dry out the water damage in our garage. They didn't even try to protect our staircase from their muddy feet while dragging things up and down our carpeted stairs. We had to drive all over town looking for kerosene for our heater to prevent mold from forming. We sent them the actual receipt for the hallway carpet and padding and 7 weeks later with our laundry room gutted and a huge chunk of carpet cut out because they destroyed it taking out the linoleum, they valued our 3yr old carpet at less than half of the purchased price. Essentially, they caused more damage to our home than they prevented. They are a bull in a china shop. I refuse to let them in my home again. I could have done a better job myself. read more
