Dr Jenkins is not accepting rheumatology patients anymore. She's only doing primary care.

This practice seems to be all over Virginia, I found them after my original rheumatologist of…read morealmost 20 years Dr. Rosalia Lomeo retired. No one will ever be a good replacement for her, so I went in with low expectations. So far the Willow Oaks office has been ok, they did change the major treatment, but luckily they didn't do the nightmare scenario of changing everything, or making me start at the beginning again. I'm irritated I have to see a separate pain specialist, pain is part of a rheumatology diagnosis for most, so forcing patients to make separate appointments for chronic pain seems part silly, part taking financial advantage of patients. But I guess this is part of the new chain style of medicine in the U.S. Dr. Lomeo was old fashioned, and treated all symptoms of her specialty, and left specialists for areas outside of her expertise, of which pain is included for ALL rheumatologists, can you tell I miss her yet? The office staff is largely quick and efficient, they do their best to navigate my insurances that try to get out of paying. I admit I prefer dealing with some, who are friendlier. But they're all decent. Seating is comfortable, and appointments are mostly on time, but as with all rheumatologists, you may find they run late because sometimes patients just need more time at their appointments. Have patience, and bring a book just in case. Parking is easy because the office is between free car parks, beware though, because the carpark elevator often breaks down. The infusion center is at the same office, which is convenient. The nurses here are very nice, normal Geri-chairs to lay or sit in. Be prepared to make future appointments well in advance. And they do blood draws here and in the office, which almost makes up for the pain clinic nonsense. So far, the patients that come here are also pretty chill as well. The doctors and PAs are professional, and do try to ensure you have the right protocols. I'm not looking for a cure, just stability and they're getting there. I love Alisha the PA, she's good natured and answers all my questions. Dr. Bodadi is quiet, but thoughtful and seems kind. I've dealt with my diseases since childhood, and was a nurse; so my experiences may be much different than someone else who's looking for a miracle. With the disappearing population of old fashioned practice, that treats the whole person; this office is probably as good as it gets unless you can find a concierge rheumatologist. Don't know about the other offices though.

My wife and I were pleasantly surprised when Dr. Thomas had a staff member call my home to make sure I had arrived home safely when she found I was driving by myself. I was sure of my ability at the time, but her concern was heartwarming and appreciated. George Mysel

I always am asked why I keep my PCP's group in Fairfax with the long commute from Ashburn,…read moreespecially since I physically moved away from Fairfax in the late 90's!! The answer I always give is the staff, nurses and especially the few Doctors who have taken care of me during my 24+ year association with GIMG, now part of INOVA. Juliette Singh was there at the beginning and so was Dr Fender (who has since retired) and Dr Goyal. Not sure of anymore. Dr Fender was an amazing Doctor for the years I spent as a patient, along with his primary nurse. He as detailed, focused, spent time listening (and lecturing) and a doctor who would reach out and call you at home to discuss a reading or question if you were taking medication as prescribed. Qualities that reminded me of my Father who was the first US educated Doctor who returned to his home country of Guyana. When Dr Fender left (when GIMG stopped being a private group and taken over by INOVA) , he told me (probably confidentially so sorry Dr Fender) that if I wanted a replacement Doctor like him, switch over to Dr Goyal. It took me being lazy for a couple of years before I switched and since that time, I was fortunate that writing of an issue to another of the medical staff, my note was intercepted by Dr Goyal and a test ordered which indicated a serious enough life changing condition. She is extremely thorough and professional and has called me at home several times like Dr Fender to counsel, advise, lecture as well as provide guidance. When she leaves, given that I have no other such experience with a full time doctor (the PAs and NPs are great) I will finally exit to a group in Ashburn where we live. The staff work as a team. Case in point 2 weeks ago I experienced another issue and Ms. Singh found me a slot with Dr Goyal who, probably more to allay my concerns, ordered a test and Olga at the front desk worked her magic to get me to Radiology the same day (its not the first time she has done this). All the front desk, back office nurses like Robert, Bunry and others are excellent. I am fortunate that GIMG has taken such good care of me over the years and well worth the 45 minutes to an hour it takes me to get there.

I didn't have my appointment because I couldn't find my insurance card (I made a new patient…read moreappointment) and never made it beyond the front desk. The staff was rude. Not just to me, but to other patients as they were checking out. I ended up making another appointment with another provider.

I only learned about this on the same morning as I was supposed to come in for a pre surgical clearance appt. I was about to leave my house when I got a call stating I would have to pay for service received for the past 6 months plus the day of the appt if I wanted info sent to my surgeon. I couldn't afford this. It was the last straw for me. There were several other concerns I had over the past two years I overlooked, which I shouldn't have. Other concerns include rude receptionist, lack of access to blood test and other results, his unwillingness to write orders for me to have a glucometer, (he suggested I should buy over the counter). Because I'm diabetic, my insurance covers this cost. I kept my insurance coverage from my previous job in addition to having Medicare. Luckily, my surgeon's office is associated with the hospital. The scheduler was able to get me in for this before my surgical procedure.

Dr. Kim has the best hands when it comes to drawing blood! Tip: skip the techs and go straight to him for 1 prick only!!! I think he's fair however I don't like that they will hold Rx refills until an appointment is made or held. It feels like Rx hostage. Never once have I skipped an appointment and As a paying customer I should never be made to feel like I can't get the Rx needed pending an appointment. I'm highly disappointed about their latest actions. The front desk staff, Kim, displays great customer service and compassion.

My absolute favorite doctor Dr. Lim has left the practice so I've been hopping around whoever has been available and have found each person that I have met has been incredibly kind, smart, and sensitive to whatever issues I am facing at the time. The back and forth communication between the app is amazing and has saved me hours of my life .. and the ability to make same day appointments is life changing. They have a children's practice as well, which I am highly considering switching to as I can see it being easy to schedule sick and well visits, get doctors notes, etc. My company used to pay One Medical Group as a benefit but it is so good that I continue to pay out of pocket. I am so glad that Amazon has purchased the company to make this type of quality health care more accessible for all.

Even better, my wait time was only about 10 minutes to get that lab work. And I checked the app ahead of time to figure out lower volume times to visit--yay, technology! My lab tech kept me smiling through the short appointment and let me know when I could look for results through the app or from my primary care provider. All together, this is an excellent practice and well worth the annual fee.
