My boyfriend embarked on the journey with me to see if it was in fact splendid; though, I've been for a Yelp event previously and knew it was. He's an ice cream lover, so he'd be the true critic. What We Ordered: ~ Standard (Milkiest Chocolate + Honey Vanilla Bean: Two flavors that I've before and safely eaten. Due to my peanut and tree nut allergy, I have staff scoop separately so I try to stick to what I know. Very grateful they do this to avoid cross contamination. If you like milk chocolate ice cream, Jeni's has some of my favorite! ~ Signature in Waffle Cone (Darkest Chocolate, Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam, and Brambleberry Crisp): My boyfriend's selection, and he remarked that all three flavors were really good. Ultimately, his favorite was Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam due to the peach taste being very present. It paired very nicely with the sweet cream biscuits. A great savory and sweet combination. This shop is pretty quaint with four seats, and some benches with an umbrella outside. Definitely more of a grab-n-go spot, though we were able to grab a seat to enjoy. Definitely a great location for a little treat if shopping in the area, or even having a date night. You can't go wrong with ice cream! read more

We popped in for a couple of scoops after becoming fans of Jeni's from the grocery store. One thing I would have liked to see was a larger selection of dairy-free flavors--there were only two options available during our visit. We ended up trying the Dairy-Free Peppermint Patty and the House Coffee flavors, and both were delicious. The Peppermint Patty had a rich chocolate flavor with just the right amount of mint, while the House Coffee delivered a smooth, satisfying coffee taste. The scoop sizes were a bit smaller than I expected for the price, but the quality of the ice cream was excellent. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming, happily offering samples to help us decide. Overall, a tasty treat with great customer service. I'd love to see a few more dairy-free choices on the menu, but we'd definitely stop in again. read more

Delish as expected. Stopped by on a Wednesday around 10pm. It was just us in the store, so we sampled many MANY flavors from the two friendly girls working. Finalized our flavors, got our cups of ice cream, and sat outside until they closed @ 11pm since they started bringing the tables and chairs in. Gooey butter cake is a MUST. Friendly staff, but man would this on the regular would burn a hole in my pocket long-term. The ice cream is delicious, but I'd say figure out your fave flavor and buy them at the grocery store (Fry's will have entire pints for ~$7). read more

First time trying Jeni's, not just this location but the brand entirely, because honestly the pints at the store are so expensive that I could never bring myself to pull the trigger. My birthday ended up being the perfect excuse to finally try it. I had signed up for their mailing list a couple months prior but had no idea if they even did a birthday freebie. Turns out they do, basically any one item for free, which is a solid perk. The girl working the counter was really nice and helpful when I asked. We went around 12:30 on a Tuesday during spring break and were the only ones in the store, which was a relief. My mom got the triple half scoops with double dough, gooey butter cake, and peanut butter with chocolate flecks. I got the same but swapped the double dough for banana cream pudding. They also offered to wedge a piece of waffle cone in the middle of the scoops, which was a cute touch (but was thin and didn't really taste like much). Worth noting though, half scoops are genuinely small. (And not worth $8+). It came out to almost $20 total for both of us, but with my birthday freebie and a couple other rewards dollars in my account, my portion ended up being basically nothing. When she asked for my number I was worried nothing would show up because I couldn't remember if I had entered my phone number when signing up or just my email, but she found me no problem. Now, here is where the experience lost me even more. My banana cream pudding tasted nothing like banana cream pudding. It had the yellow color going for it, but the flavor was straight up pina colada, all coconut and pineapple, zero banana. My mom thought the same thing. That is not a bad flavor on its own, but that is not what I specifically pointed to when choosing my three flavors. It said it on the glass and it looked like a banana flavor in the tub. But that is not what was scooped into my little cup. That raises a real concern for anyone with a coconut or pineapple allergy who orders it expecting banana. The standout flavor of the bunch was easily the gooey butter cake. The bigger takeaway is that neither of us thought the ice cream was worth the price. Ben and Jerry's is cheaper and more loaded with mix-ins. My mom pointed out more than once that for something called "double dough" there certainly should've been more cookie dough in the ice cream. This visit really just reminded us both that we are Handel's people through and through. Comparable quality, bigger scoops, better price. If you disagree, argue with the wall. read more

Stopped by to buy some of the Queen's Charlotte Sponge Cake before it sold out and got to try the Earl Grey Creme Brulee. It is not as good as the other Bridgerton collab. I could definitely taste the burnt sugar, which was overpowering. Anyways, I bought a total of 4 pints of ice cream, which include the limited Tropical Bloom flavor. The staff gave me this nice bag to keep my ice cream cold. We love Jeni's ice cream. Target and Frys food stores also carry Jeni's ice cream, but we love the limited edition flavors that are only available at Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream shop. Tip: this new store doesn't have a qr scanner, so you need to give them your phone number to earn and redeem rewards. Also, if you are playing their daily word game, the check in feature to get two more tries do not work. :( read more

Did you know Joe Biden frequently visited the Columbus Jeni's store, with his campaign spending over $12,500 on the ice cream? I'm gonna try to beat that figure. Review 1,700th goes out to Jeni's because let's celebrate! I love me some Jeni's and I'm glad there's a slightly closer location to home now. On my first visit to this location, I got: Queen Charlotte (Decadent almond buttercream with raspberry-rose jam and honey sponge cake. Lavender-hued at Queen Charlotte's behest), Brown Butter Almond Brittle (Brown butter almond candy crushed into buttercream ice cream), and Goat Cheese with Red Cherries (Mouthwatering and rich, it's like a scoopable cherry cheesecake). They have a lot of fun flavors here along with the classics. Don't know what to get? Try some samples before you commit. And if you find yourself falling in love with a certain flavor, they also offer pints for you to take home to enjoy at your leisure. This location is great. Met up with the family here for some ice cream. I've visited the old town location several times and have had good visits. We walked in and there were two employees helping people out as there were two parties ordering. We waited for our turns and ordered when ready. We ordered one cone and one waffle bowl. The employee scooping the ice cream was friendly but the cashier was not. She seemed annoyed, not too eager to be there, and it made it a tad bit awkward. New ice cream spot we will be going back to! I was so excited to try out Jeni's the other day. I was wondering what was going to be placed next to DogHaus and happy it's a spot I can take my son to. Location is prime. It's not too deep into San Tan Village where there is limited parking. It's in the outskirts which I like. The atmosphere is bright, minimal and clean. The service was great. I had a mix up with my order and the employee that was helping me went out of her way to make sure everything went smoothly. My son was beyond excited to be there which means he's really talkative and that can get frustrating for employees when he has a bazillion questions and they are trying to work. But they didn't miss a beat. I really appreciated that. The flavors of the ice cream were unique and delicious. I even tried one of their dairy free flavors even though I'm not dairy free and I was impressed so much so I chose it as one of my flavors. I got the Gooey Butter Cake, Green Mint Chip, and Texas Sheet Cake (dairy free). ALL amazing. You're also going to have to forgive me, I took NO pictures of my actual ice cream. I literally inhaled it. lol same goes for my son except his face wore a lot of it haha I do want to note that there are times when ice cream shops get creative with their menus and in turn, their ice cream is overly sweet. This is not the case at Jeni's. It was the perfect about of rich and sweet. In a nutshell, super excited of this new ice cream spot. Ice cream was spectacular. Jeni's has always been a favorite of mine at the grocery store, so I was so excited to see them open a brick and mortar in Gilbert. The best part is, the location! There is so much parking there around Santan Village, it makes a huge difference when trying to make a late night ice cream run. We ended up going around 7 PM on New Year's Eve, and there wasn't a soul there. The staff were incredibly nice and attentive, and they let us try as many flavors as we wanted to. I had the birthday cake and my husband had the gooey butter cake, both so tasty. They had so many flavors to try, dairy free ones as well. I can't wait to go back and try more. The storefront itself is pretty small, there's a few seats inside, but not much. I would imagine they'll put some seating outside once it heats up. read more

Stopped by this place, and bought some of their dairy-free items. Some of my friends require dairy-free, so I was shocked to see they had a few DF flavors. I got a pint of Texas Sheet Cake (chocolaty goodness) and I got 12 minis Lemon Bar (12 for $36). I was a little thrown off by the cost of the minis, but I gotta say, after trying it.. WOW! I had my friend put it to the test with the Texas Sheet Cake, and he downed half the pint, until he forcefully cut himself off. You can't tell there's no dairy in it, other than my friends are still breathing. Their Dairy-Free ice cream is phenomenal!! The best I've ever tasted! I honestly prefer that over the non-DF. It's a small footprint so it can get pretty crowded when it's busy, and I's sure come summertime, this place will have a line out the door every single day. But the ice cream is so good. Don't let the small interior fool you; Jeni's is jam packed with tons of flavour! Every time I go, I've always gotten such good help from the employees. They're always so kind to answer any questions, and give me all the samples I ask for (even if I'm super indecisive). The line can take a bit of time to work through because of that, but I always leave happy, so it's well worth the wait. Maybe just don't go if you have someplace you need to be IMMEDIATELY; it's not going to be fast as if you're going through a drive through (assuming there's others in line ahead of you). I think my go to flavour is the almond brittle. I get that one every time! I think some people don't like the idea of a scoop actually being a half scoop here, but for me, I love it since it lets me pick out different flavours without getting a stomachache from eating too much ice cream. read more

I had not gone to this Jeni's location in the evening before and was shocked to see that it was so busy at 8:30pm, but also it made sense for a Saturday. The line was right up against the door, and in front of us was a large group full of kids that were a bit restless. Even with how busy it was, the servers were patient and served us with a smile. My friend tried a few flavors to figure out what she wanted. I already knew exactly what I wanted - a Standard (two half scoops) with Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake and Brown Butter Almond Brittle. The Queen Charlotte Sponge Cake is my favorite, especially since I love raspberry. I will be so bummed once it's gone. By the time we got our ice cream, the line had gone out the door. There were no seats available in front of the shop either, so we sat at a table at one of the nearby shops (hope that was okay). This place is solid. Brought the family here after we heard a podcast talk about the location in TN. I will say...it is on the pricey side. However, it's good. I mean really good. Very nice staff and very friendly. The flavor choices can be intimidating, because there are a lot and they are all good. The staff was patient as I started to decide and try everything. Visited for the first time because my wife and I like their pints sold in the grocery. I understood that it would be more expensive but that the quality would be worth it. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. The interior of the shop was sterile; the staff was inexpressive and even sullen; the portions were exceedingly small. It all felt very pretentious (together with the "We Believe" mantra sticker out front). Worse still, and most surprising, the quality of the ice cream was mediocre. The cookie dough scoop had very little cookie dough in it; the peanut butter scoop was meh; so was the mint. Just not worth it. Try Peterson's if you want a fun experience with a good amount of ice cream that also happens to be delicious. Or if you really like Jeni's, just buy a pint from the grocery. read more

My only complaint (and idk if it's just this location) but the cash register is on the opposite side of where it would usually be in a store. It's kind of hard to explain but it causes the line to always get backed up a weird way and everyone has to awkwardly file around the store, inform every new person that walks in of what's going on every time because everyone inevitably gets confused lol It's not a big deal but it's very strange and kind of annoying. read more

Our first at Jeni's was a few weeks ago when our son turned six! Not sure if he's just so cute they gave him free ice cream or that's how you get treated on your birthday, but either way it was welcomed! He got a waffle bowl and the birthday cake ice cream which was solid and cool that it had colorful sprinkles mixed in. I opted for a trio of chocolate, butter cake, and double dough (a real winners podium if you ask me), in a waffle bowl as well. I want to add in that I don't usually do waffle anything because they usually taste like cardboard but Jeni's waffles are supreme! It was pleasantly salty which complemented my ice cream very well. We have been back since our first visit. I would say this is one of our new rotations for ice cream! I also like how they have free water cups and the two girls that assisted us were super sweet! We went to Jeni's over in San tan village as a 1st time there, 2nd to the company. The pro's. As a GF person in a non GF world, Jeni's offers a huge amount of dietary restricted options!!! They are well labeled and contain things I can normally not eat. The team is great! The ice cream also delicious. The cons: this location is small. When we arrived there was a person who was in awe of their choices so, the looked, they tasted. They talked. I get it. I cried the 1st time I went somewhere that made my GF needs a priority not a pariah. However, there was no where to go. No way for the people behind them to see. The line just stopped. The space is compact and it was a bit overwhelming to be in such a jam. The 2nd. Price. 3 1/2 sized scoops (which is a ton of ice cream) is $9. Real ingredients cost real money. However, if you go with 2 of you be prepared to spend $20 or share (which you absolutely can!). read more

It's Delicious! They have a good variety of flavor options! Bonus points for having multiple dairy free options that are tasty as well! A clean and bright space. It does get busy and the space isn't large enough for the line - also there very limited inside seating and the outside seating is right against a busy road which is a little scary with small children. This is for sure the absolute best ice cream Ive ever had. My husband and i came to this new location on Saturday night and we both thoroughly enjoyed our ice cream. Were huge Handels fans but Jenis is better. The reason fir only three stars in for the extreme disappointment over the scoops. They give three mini scoops only so you can enjoy more flavors. However three mini scoops dont even equal a normal sized single scoop anywhere else. Its quite expensive at $16.50 for two people for three small spoonfuls. So the micro scoops are a total drag. We may come back again if were at the mall but to have to get in the car for a special trip, we'll head to Handels. read more
