Warning: Not only are these bras expensive, but the entire experience was deeply uncomfortable. I spent the time doing a fitting and bought two bras, only for them to be the most uncomfortable bras I've ever owned. I usually wear a 34DD, but I was convinced to buy a 30G because "it would fit better." After wearing one for just two hours, I was left with real pain from how tight it was--it felt like being stuck in a corset. I should have trusted my instincts. When I tried to return the second bra, which was also too tight, I was told there were no returns. They handed me an extender and sent me on my way. I'm upset at the experience, but I'm also mad at myself for letting a stranger convince me they knew my body better than I do--and for wasting $200 on something that's completely unusable. read more

My dear friend who is 84, recently widowed and has lost a lot of weight in the past year was desperately in need of some new bras. Since then I have washed it maybe 4 times and worn only maybe 10 times and just last week discovered the inside mesh lining has ripped on both sides. To my surprised I am very disappointed that it's already ripped despite hardly using it. I called the store (Pasadena location) and explained to the rep the situation and she was very abrupt with her response pretty much sounding like too bad too sad but there's nothing I can do for you. I was really excited to try this place! Especially since the bras I had were just not fitting right, so I finally decided to go to a place designed for heavy chested ladies. To my surprise, they fit you by observation (no measuring), and I was impressed. I believe my sales rep was Sarah based on receipt. The first bra she chose gave me good coverage, but I felt the wire sticking out the side. She commented that "unfortunately, bras do that. Mine is starting to do that as well." At the moment I accepted it, but she let me try on first a bigger band size which resulted in a really uncomfortable wire. She switched my band size back down and I was able to try on several more. I found one finally that at the moment, I felt the wire less which brought relief, but I could still feel it. Sarah responded with similar comment as before. I am not sure it is totally on her because it seems I am between band size as Sarah told me it is a bit snug, but it should loosen with time. Day one of wearing the bra I was happy with the support and coverage, but soon realized during work everytime I bend down or turned my body the wire will dig into rib/underarm area. I tried again Day 2 and the same thing, I now have red marks that haven't left after taking the bra off for hours. So I am giving 2 stars because I know Sarah probably did her best, but I wish there was more honesty and fairness if comfort is absent. Yet, I appreciate knowing my size and realizing what coverage looks like. I was desperate for a bra as my old one only covered half my boob, so I purchased the $100 bra that I am forced to wear now in pain until I can happily replace it and store this bra. I am hoping that with use, maybe it will become comfortable. My trip to Jenette's was unplanned. I spent the day looking for bikinis for an upcoming trip, but was constantly disappointed by the lack of cute options available to women with larger breasts. I went on Google maps and Jenette's popped up as selling both bras/lingerie and swimwear for sizes D and up, so I gave it a shot. When I came in, Ella was with a customer but came out to greet me and had me check in with my info and sit down. I didn't have an appointment, but she expressed that it's totally fine and took me to the back to try on once the customer left. I was shocked because I took off my shirt, and in my ill-fitting bra, Ella just looked at me for a few seconds then handed me 2 bras she thought could be my size. Literally one shot (no measuring tape) and she got my size exactly right! Clearly I've never had a bra that truly fit, because I have never felt the way I did trying on the bras at Jenette's. Since I never knew my "real" size, I avoided wired bras because they were uncomfortable due to poor fit. At first the bras felt strange and tighter than what I was used to, but I realized that's how it's supposed to be. They're supposed to support you, not just loosely cover your breasts. When wearing the bras Ella brought me, I was standing straighter/taller and my breasts were sitting higher than they ever had in my entire life. Ella showed me different designs and picked out the cutest ones. She also helped me put them on when I had trouble. She's definitely a girl's girl and was constantly reassuring and genuinely hyping me up throughout the whole process. I spent about an hour there (had to cut it short because I had an appointment to get to afterwards), but never felt rushed. In fact, I actually felt encouraged to stay on and try more. I ended up walking out with 3 bras and 1 bikini set. Since my purchase was above a certain amount, I received a free liquid soap specifically for cleaning the bras. Ella explained how to do it and also gave me a manual for future reference. Their bras are pricey, but that's because they import them from Europe. They're also high-quality material and cute designs. So I totally see them as a worthwhile investment. In addition, the shop needs to make profit to pay to their rent (Pasadena ain't cheap). The experience wouldn't have been the same without a brick and mortar shop to visit. I was only able to know what fit me and looked best on me with the in-person help of Ella. Overall my experience here was life-changing. Ella is wonderful and so helpful. I can't see myself buying my bras/lingerie/swimwear from anywhere else but here. I love Jenette. LOVE. In Oct 2011 I got my first two life changing bras from the original store at Hel & Mel. Both were holding up quite well until just recently when my boxer puppy decided to eat one of them (yes, I cried) and the other needed a little tune up on the hook and eye (my mom's fixing that for me). I have also taken up running and had enough of rubbing skin off of my breastbone because of ill-fitting bras and triple layering them with sports bras and built-in shelf bras on fitness clothing. I was determined to get an incredible sports bra. This new store is modeled to look identical to the original. Like, it is a perfect twin. While parking can be a little difficult, I much prefer this neighborhood to the East Hollwood one. The ladies in here are super sweet and knowledgeable. One had an Australian accent and the other was in training and I was honored to give her a couple educational moments in fitting. Not only did I have a plethora of sports bras to choose from, but I can't believe how wonderful the one I chose is. I ended up leaving the store with a regular every day bra as well, and my mom and I went off to lunch. We did return, however, to purchase a third bra that I was regretting not purchasing in the first place. I want to say something to the reviewer who was a bit unhappy about not finding molded H cups...your bountiful bosom needs more than a foam semi-circle. The precisely-paneled lace and fabric brassieres are what your boobies need. I have been a customer of Jenette's for several years and felt that although the prices for bras here were a tad high, it was worth going in to get fit and walk out with at least one bra that fit well. I was stoked that a shop in Pasadena had bras in my sizes and saved me a trip out to Monrovia's Wizard of Bras (so far east for me). I was an evangelist for Jenette's - really loved the shop, the service and that they had bras that fit me!! But over the last 2 years, I've been disappointed by my shopping trips to Jenette's. They stopped supplying the Freya Deco (my favorite bra) in Pasadena, which meant I'd have to go out to the Eastside store - where the parking is ridiculously hard to get in that neighborhood. And the one time I did go in - they had no Freya Deco in stock, so.... This November, I went back to Jenette's in Pasadena (my local store) to stock up on a bra similar to my other favorite (the Maddie by Cleo/ Panache), which the brand has stopped making. I went in hoping one of the shop women could help me find something similar in the Cleo/Panache line - only to find out that Jenette's has stopped selling Panache and Freya entirely. The regular bra I would buy there would retail for around $60 - $75. The salesgirl gave me a bra that was "similar" to a Panache bra I've bought in the past - I gasped when I saw the price tag - $120 - for an EVERYDAY BRA? Listen, I'm not usually shocked by pricing - I do well for myself, have high-end tastes and understand that with specialty boutique items, you get a higher price tag; but that was the lowest priced bra she handed me. Some were $150, another was around $200. The thing that bothered me the most was the woman's reason as to why Jenette's no longer sold Panache or Freya; it didn't hold water to me. She said that those two brands weren't as high quality as the other brands they sold in the shop, and tended to not last very long. (My Freya bras are still going strong 6 months - a year out, so not sure how the quality could be better). Then, changing stories, she mentioned something about Nordstrom being able to sell Freya at a loss, so maybe I should go there to buy bras. I guess I'll have to. Reading between the lines, I got the sense that with Freya and Panache, there's not enough of a profit margin for Jenette to sell them, which is fine - I respect that. Old Town is a pricey place to have a shop - but just be honest about why you are no longer stocking a label. Overall I feel like Jenette's has gone from "The Alphabet Starts at D" to "The Price Starts at $120 at the Bougie Shop." read more

I was wearing a band size too big and a cup size too small and they were able to figure that out just by looking lol. I have large, close set breasts and it's been exceedingly hard to get fitted let alone find bras, so this place was a lifesaver. The bras were uncomfortable and did not support - bands and cups too big. The underwear also the most uncomfortable I've ever tried. I have purchased bras and swimwear at this location several times over the past few years. The service is great, and the bras they sell are really lovely and well made. After my last trip a few weeks ago, I looked online for a bra they did not have in the color I wanted. Although I expected prices in a boutique shop to be higher than online, I was really surprised by how much. I paid over $100 more for one bra than it was selling for on bare necessities. Also paid considerably more for a bralette. If it were not for Jenette, I don't know that I would ever have discovered these brands, so I would feel ok about paying a bit more. This was my first time in this shop and I was so happy with my experience! I'm 3 months pregnant and was in desperate need of a new, good fitting, comfortable bra. Sabrina was very attentive and helpful. She took a look at the bra I wore in and was able to find the right size for me on the first try. I tried on 6-8 different styles (all beautiful and looked/felt well made) and asked to wear the one I loved out which she was more than happy to accommodate. The merchandise they carry is more pricey than something you would find at Target or Victoria Secret, but I'm willing to spend money on something that I wear every day and that supports my 34F gals. When it comes to bras, you get what you pay for. I really appreciated the customer service and inviting ambience of the store. They have a very wide selection of beautiful product and their staff was knowledgeable.
